For a series with a lot of death, cruel and powerful villains, and dark themes like rape and abuse, there is also a lot of lighthearted and heartwarming moments that keep the story from being a Crapsack World.
General
- Melody and Irene's friendship. They give each other presents, listen to each other's problems, and (especially in Irene's case) are at their most comfortable around each other.
- A large amount of optimism comes from the fact that if a situation is dire enough, most villains will come to support the heroes against it. And so far in the series, there have been no big double crosses that you would expect from villains.
- The Crush Filter Basil has towards Prisca, while he obviously appreciates her new body, he loves her just the way she is.
First Run
- Amy trying to calm Basil down when he believes being a gadgeteer will get him targeted.
- Aimi confiding in her two best friends about her troubles, with Basil deciding to help her as a part of his debut.
