Heartwarming / Alberto Del Rio

• It looks like Ricardo Rodriguez's Undying Loyalty to Del Rio has finally brought out the Mexican Aristocrat's heroic side. On the New Year's Eve 2012 episode of RAW, in which each reigning Champions defended their title against an opponent of their choice, The Big Show picked Ricardo Rodriguez. It's already been established that Del Rio cares about Ricardo if he doesn't care about anyone else, but the scene right before the match takes the cake for heartwarming. Del Rio apologizes to Ricardo for treating him so terribly and tells him that he'll be in his corner for the match. He takes off his Scarf of Asskicking and puts it around Ricardo's neck, says that a friend of his needs to arrive for a match "in style", then flips Ricardo the keys to his Cool Car so he can borrow it for his entrance. The pep talk seems to put an extra bit of fight into Ricardo during the match, as he gets in a fair bit of offense against the Giant, including landing a picture-perfect step-up enzuigiri at the beginning of a sequence that ends with Big Show limping around on a hurt knee. Predictably, Show recovers and goes for the knockout punch. Del Rio slides into the ring to Ricardo's rescue and leaves several footprints on Big Show's head before pulling his employee and friend to safety.
• A bit more subtle, post- the above Heel–Face Turn, but Ricardo can often be seen wearing Del Rio's Scarf of Asskicking now during one of the latter's matches.
• In general, Alberto and Ricardo's relationship after the former's Heel–Face Turn. Contrast Alberto rushing to Ricardo's aid after The Big Show beat his head in backstage, with Alberto leaving Ricardo to become a Sacrificial Lamb in the middle of the ring to be beaten up by other wrestlers.
