Headscratchers / Wynonna Earp

Go To

  • If the revenants outnumber Wynonna 77 to 1 and know where she lives, why don't they converge on her together outside the boundaries of her land instead of waiting for her to pick them off individually?
    • There may be some secondary rule of the curse that prevents the revenants from simply ganging up on the Earps all at once, particularly since Wyatt would have put them all down individually himself.

  • According to the Earp curse, "if the Heir dies before they are able to break the curse, all of the revenants the previous Heir killed will resurrect when they next one comes of age." If the revenants come back every generation and don't change in appearance, wouldn't it be fairly easy to keep track of all of them in such a small town? And even the ones that survive without being killed would be essentially ageless, which ought to raise suspicions.
    • Depends on various factors; the quality of photographs in the past may make it harder to identify longer-living Revenants, and they may choose to remain relatively low-key until they have a chance to oppose the Earps.

  • Also, if the next family member to turn 27 inherits the gun if the current Heir dies, what's to stop all the revenants in the triangle from killing all the current Earps in town? It's shown when Willa comes back, and Wynonna can't use Peacemaker anymore that if an Heir is not available, the next Earp to turn 27 will inherit the ability to wield Peacemaker. What determines an Heir's availability?
    • Does this mean that if Wynonna hadn't returned to Purgatory in the first episode that Waverly would have been the next Earp to inherit the gun? Or does it mean the revenants would have come back on Wynonna's 27th birthday, leaving Waverly as the only Earp in town and the next Earp heir, but with no way to use Peacemaker?
      • No, because it was revealed that Waverly is not an Earp.

  • In Season 2 when Waverly's hand is cut off, and the Mictian grows it back wouldn't it be fairly easy for Wynonna to go back and retrieve the hand and prove it was cut off?

  • If the curse affects the seventy-seven killed by Wyatt, how does it affect August Hamilton who was killed by Doc?
    • Because by making August testify, Wyatt had practically sealed his fate. It was never specified that these kills had to be direct.

  • How did Wynonna's disappearance affect Waverly and Nicole's relationship? And why was Waverly engaged to Perry, and not Champ?
