Headscratchers / The Muppet Christmas Carol

     Killing love?
  • There's one line in the movie that I don't understand, from the "Marley and Marley" song: "As freedom comes from killing love, so prison comes with hate". I get the second part, but what's the first bit supposed to mean? Wouldn't it make more sense in the context of the song to say "as freedom comes from spreading love, so prison comes with hate"?
    • Isn't it giving love? That's how I always heard it.
    • Going back and listening to it, it IS "giving love", Jacob Marley just doesn't enunciate very well. :P

     Appearance of Fraggle Rock characters
  • Now, this film is obviously just presented as being a film in-universe, with the Muppets playing the roles of the characters. Thus, the appearance of several characters from Fraggle Rock (Sprocket, Wander Mc Mooch, Mudwell the Mudbunny, and the Inkspots, among others) would seem to imply that Fraggle Rock is a fictional series within the universe of Franchise/The Muppets, and that the actors playing said characters are playing different roles in this film. However, the earlier special A Muppet Family Christmas clearly showed that the characters from Fraggle Rock exist in The Muppet Show's universe, including Sprocket, who appears in this film. And for the most part A Muppet Family Christmas'' doesn't feel like a film in-universe, just a series of events happening to the Muppets (though the Muppet Babies sequence might just imply that the special is fictional even in-universe).
