Headscratchers / The Bob's Burgers Movie

The Bunny Hat

  • So if Louise's story arc in this movie was to realize that she doesn't need her signature bunny hat on at all times, why was there still an unreveal when her hat fell off towards the end of the movie and she plays it off like it's no big deal?
    • Maybe it's like the "magic feather" from Dumbo. However, meta-wise, she wouldn't be Louise without said bunny hat. She may not be defined by completely defined by it, but it is a part of her. The point is that she didn't need the hat to be brave.
      • Then why keep what she looks like without the hat on a mystery to the audience if it's not a big deal? Just because the bunny hat's a signature part of her look, doesn't mean she's gonna look incomplete without it? Fans of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba get to see Inosuke without his boar head mask all the time, even though that boar head is a defining part of his look.
    • One, Demon Slayer is anime show, however, Inosuke not wearing his boar mask is supposed to mark a change in his character development. Two, that aside, Louise calls to mind of Bob's mother, who wore a pink beanie, so, her ears are her trademark.
      • I'm not sure how Demon Slayer being an anime nullifies my point. Also, character development doesn't stop Inosuke from wearing the boar mask ever again. It's still just as much his trademark as the pink bunny hat is to Louise. And on the subject of character change, wouldn't Louise no longer being afraid of being seen without her hat on be better represented by letting us viewers see her without the bunny hat on every once in a while?

Why's Jimmy Pesto There?

  • Was this movie written before certain controversial events (that I won't go into detail on here for obvious reasons) got Jimmy Pesto's VA fired from the cast? Because otherwise, why was Teddy able to hit up Pesto's pizza place during the events of the movie if the place had been confirmed to be shut down in light of current events during 2021, the year before the Bob's Burgers Movie was released?
    • Either, 1) that was in the script long before that thing happened or 2), Bob's Burgers doesn't take place in the 2020s.
      • The movie was originally supposed to release in the summer of 2020.

The Body

  • If Cotton Candy Dan's body has been buried in front of the restaurant for the past six years (or, specifically, six years before the present day that the show is set), why wasn't his body discovered when they dug the hole to trap the mechanical shark in The Deepening?
    • Cotton Candy Dan's body seems like it was buried underneath the sidewalk while the hole in The Deepening was strictly in the street and was never as deep as the sinkhole.
