"Dog Hand"-related Headscratchers

• Why couldn't Beast Boy, Robin, Starfire, and/or Cyborg think about calling Trigon for help with Raven's cracked tooth? After all, Cyborg's meatball "glue" isn't a permanent solution.
  • ...Maybe because they sent Trigon to another dimension? Seriously, why do they want Trigon to help after what happened in "Dog Hand"? Trigon would never help them after that happened and even if he did, it would probably be a trick.
    • Speaking of "Dog Hand", why didn't Trigon revoke the Titans' powers that he gave them? Shouldn't he have known they would use them to defeat him?
    • Perhaps he simply cannot. There is a trope Faustian Rebellion. That asks that exact question and it's common enough that once powers are given they cannot be taken back either at all or without complicated rituals.
    • Why did Cyborg waste his wish on that stupid dog head when he could undo his father's work and become human again?
    • Well in this particular episode, Cyborg says he was already half-robot, and a flashback shows him as a half-robot even as a baby.
  • But he still loves his daughter.
  • Because Trigon's solution probably would more than likely involve letting the rest of the team die first before stopping the tooth demon so that there would be nothing left to stop Raven from conquering this world (and then going out for ice cream to celebrate!)
    • It was only that one time. It probably won't happen again.

One Chubby Robot

• In the episode with the doubles, how did Cyborg's robot parts get fat? Are his robotics some sort of comedic nanobot material in this continuity?
  • I can't think of any better explanation.
  • I got one: Rule of Funny.

We Wear The Cloak

• In "Legs" the Titan all put on Raven's cloak with... interesting side effects. My problem is that in "Meatball Party" and "Laundry Day", Beast Boy and Starfire, respectively, wear Raven's cloak without any adverse side effects (actually, no effects at all). What. The. Heck.
  • I think it's because the spell Raven used to make Robin do the laundry stopped the demons or something...
  • Well, the entire show runs on Negative Continuity. Aside from what you've mentioned, this episode also showed Raven walking, something she had a terrible time trying to do when Robin forced the rest of the Titans to go without using their superpowers in a previous ep. Going by that episode, she really shouldn't have been able to walk so freely in this one, let alone dance and put on a new superhero persona that's entirely based around kicking.

Gizmo's The Boss

• Gizmo tells Jinx that she's not allowed to see Cyborg anymore...............wait a minute why is Gizmo telling Jinx what to do?
  • My best guess is that being the smartest of the group, he's the leader.
• Don't the Titans minus Cyborg and Robin have better disguises? At the very least, BB could use his "Beast Within", Raven has illusion magic or just her standard Elderitch Abomination form she uses all the time in this series, Starfire could just dye her hair, put on the armor, and say she's Blackfire.
  • Do I even need to say it?

No Disqualification

• In "No Power", everyone already used their powers before the battle. Why weren't they already disqualified?
  • Because Robin caught them before the powers could be used to any effect. Beast Boy didn't get the pickle jar open while in gorilla form, Cyborg didn't get his burrito cooked with his torch, Raven stopped floating as soon as Robin caught her, and Starfire didn't go through the hole she carved in the wall.
  • That's wrong. The challenge was that they couldn't use any superpowers for 24 hours. Didn't matter if they accomplished a task or not, they couldn't use any power whatsoever for any reason. That they did in any way means they lost, hell he taunted them when he saw it. But since the writers hate Robin for some unexplained reason he doesn't win.
  • At first, Robin wanted the Titans to stop using their powers (and called them out for doing so) because he wanted to bring them down to normal like him, so they would appreciate how hard he has it being the only Titan without superpowers. It backfired on Robin, however, when the other Titans adapted successfully to life and crime-fighting without superpowers. He then threw together the super-difficult obstacle course in a last-ditch effort to get them to rely on their superpowers again, because, as he says in his speech at the end, it really bothered him how easily they could adapt to not using superpowers, which made Robin feel worthless.

A Love For Legs

• In "Legs" Beast Boy clearly has some sort of leg fetish. So how come he wasn't fawning over Terra's legs in "Terra-ized" or Valentine's Day episode, she was wearing shorts.
  • Maybe he just thinks Raven's legs are nicer.
  • Only difference I see between their legs is Raven's looks curvier.
  • I think the Forbidden Fruit trope is in play here. Terra does not attempt to hide her legs, but Raven's are (almost) always concealed by her cloak. Note Beast Boy's awed reaction to Raven without her cloak: "You've got LEGS!" Not to mention his anguished scream when she puts the cloak back on.

Standing Up For The Little Guys

• Why did DC/CN makes this, instead of an adaption of Tiny Titans? It has more or less the same premise, but people would think it was less of an 'insult' to the old show.

Surviving A Long Time Travel

• So many questions about the time travel episode. How did Beast Boy and Cyborg not die of starvation and dehydration from standing there for thirty years? How did their eyes not dry out and cause them to become blind after thirty years without blinking? How did Cyborg's mechanical parts not shut down since he did not recharge them for thirty years? Why didn't the janitor pick up the slice of pizza on the floor at any point in thirty years? Hope they got fired for that. Why didn't the manager kick them out after closing time? Why didn't they age? How did Cyborg not get a mouth infection from putting that thirty-year-old pizza slice in his mouth? How was the pizzeria still standing after thirty years? Why didn't anyone ask why they were just standing there for thirty years?
  • Well for Cyborg eating the 30-year-old pizza, he DID spit it out after realizing that it was old. Besides that, I don't see how he WOULD get a mouth infection from eating it.
  • Rule of Funny.
  • This is pretty common with time travel episodes, from what I recall. There was a Pinky and the Brain episode where they froze themselves for 30 years, and the Doraemon cast doesn't seem to die when they time travel.

Batman Turkey

• This troper doesn't get the joke. Why was Batman turned into a turkey? Why did Raven think Robin will be okay with this? Batman didn't do anything wrong in the segment. He was invited to their house. Wouldn't it make sense if Batman was a jerk to Robin early in the episode?
  • Raven doesn't have any emotional attachment to Batman, and it's been made abundantly clear the other Titans don't care if Robin is upset.

The Powerpuff Girls Needing the Titans' Help

• Two problems with this: 1) The Girls have stopped Mojo Jojo many times before without any outside help, even when he was a giant. 2) Mojo told them heroes in that universe don't care about stopping villains, so why bother trying to get the Titans to help?
  • Blossom was referring to the Titans tricking Mojo into wasting his paralyzing gas by disguising themselves as the Powerpuff Girls and acting as decoys.

Raven's Adopted?

• Was Raven adopted? She doesn't look like Trigon at all.
  • Take a good look at her in "I See You" when she goes too long without purging her evil. The resemblance is there. The rest of the time, she likely takes after her mother (who is a succubus).

Let's Get Serious

• In trying to take a cheap shot the show's writers ignored a blatantly glaring paradox.
  • And the paradox is...?
    • Cheshire. Can't be a girl and a grown woman at the same time.
    • But Cheshire hasn't even appeared in this show yet.

Tie-in comic

• Everyone says issue #51 confirms that the girl from "Things Change" is Terra. How does it confirm this? Mind you that I never doubted it was her from the evidence in the episode but the comic doesn't seem to confirm it anymore than the episode does. I've heard the explanation that Geo-force says "It's Her", but he never seems to told that it might not be her, just that she lost her memory. I've also heard the explanation about Terra looking up and responding to them, but this doesn't seem any different from the evidence in the episode. Am I missing something?

The Titans' age

• In the episode "Beast Man", the other Titans use Beast Boy's shapeshifting powers to have him masquerade as an adult to get them into an R-rated movie. Now, on its own, that's an OK plot (at least by the show's standards), with one glaring problem: the Titans are all ostensibly, as their name suggests, teens, with at least some of them being over the age of 17. Therefore they should be able to get into the movie without a problem, no shapeshifting is required. This isn't even the only time the Titans act younger than they logically should. In "Boys vs. Girls" the "battle of the sexes" plot is driven by an argument over whether girls have cooties. Did the writers just forget how old these characters are supposed to be?
  • What? You just answered your own question. They're teens trying to get into an adult-only movie. Your other mistake is assuming that real-world laws always apply to a fictional city.

Other

• If Raven loves old people so much, why doesn't she act like a creepy weirdo about Commissioner Gordon, Santa, Sticky Joe, or Brother Blood?
  • She rarely sees Commissioner Gordon, since he spends all his time hanging out with Batman. Santa hates her as much as the other Teen Titans. And Brother Blood is a supervillain, and he's not that old. Plus, there's the whole negative continuity thing again (Raven didn't seem to be too thrilled about hanging out with the senior citizens at the senior center in "Hey, Pizza!")

• So Beast Boy is a vegan? Then why the hell is he eating cakes? last time I checked, cakes contained eggs, which doesn't sound very vegan.
  • Vegan cakes do exist.
  • Truth in Television: Some vegans are ok with eating eggs and drinking milk.

• I find it hard to believe the Titans find Jayna so much more useful than Beast Boy just because she isn't green. Beast Boy can switch between animal forms instantly. Jayna would have to stay one animal, or else go all the way back to the tower to re-activate her powers to become something else.
  • I think Cyborg was just trying to provoke Beast Boy into improving himself to show that he deserved to be back on the team. However, as we saw, Beast Boy thought instead to sabotage Jayna's efforts instead of trying to better himself.
    • Maybe Beast Boy sabotaging Jayna WAS Cyborg's plan all along and Beast Boy's assumptions were correct.
  • Also remember that BB tends to be lazy and slovenly; the guy seems to have more of an interest in pranks and showing off than actual heroics (which was why he was booted from the team at the beginning of "You're Fired" in the first place). Jayna's powers might not be nearly as impressive compared to Beast Boy's, but she has a much better work ethic and is certainly more of a team player, which meshes nicely with the Titans' way of doing things.
    • No, I was referring to the part where Cyborg specifically said that they could use her powers in many more ways, specifically because she wasn't green.
    • It might be because her animal forms aren't green. Green animals tend to stick out like a sore thumb.
    • Yes, but how often do they need his powers for stealth?
    • Cyborg was specifically pointing out that Jayna not being green now gives them the option for stealth.
• What the Hell are the HIVE doing in Gotham?
  • Even supervillains need to switch things up every now and then. The HIVE was most likely there because they thought they didn't have to deal with the Titans. Besides which, lest we forget, Batman does nothing in the show but chuckle like Squidward anyway, so I'm guessing they thought they had nothing to fear.
• As shown in "Legs", Beast Boy is shown to have a thing for the exposed legs, which was obvious due to him fawning over Raven's legs. How come he didn't fawn over Terra's legs? Which were always exposed because she wore shorts.
  • He did swear her almost to the point of Stalker with a Crush, it won't make much of a difference if he did.
  • Could be that it's a thing for Raven's legs in particular? Or the fact that they're generally an unknown? Besides, you may very well ask why he doesn't fawn over her legs any other time her cloak is open. It's a cartoon.
  • Maybe because Raven is more curvier than Terra's giving her more shapely legs.
  • It's the only skin Raven shows, period, and Starfire displays a midriff. Maybe he likes Terra's legs because they're out all the time, but he's interested in kissing her, so his attention is therefore higher.

The Night Begins to Shine

• Because Billy spent so much time on Earth, he began to believe that The Night Begins to Shine dimension was never real. Ok, on multiple levels that makes sense. But him explicitly stating that he remembers the oath? That doesn't make as much sense.
