  • How can Mesarthim, a mermaid, wear boots?
    • The joke answer in the Something Awful Let's Play is that she wears them on her hands, as gloves.
  • Why does Charm Lord, a powerful and more or less immortal Mystic, need a successor?
    • It could very well be a Mystic Lord status thing. Emperor Palpatine wrote extensively about how a disciple might kill you. But also insisted you must have one, or else you are a master of nothing. The better he trains his successor, the more talented and powerful a leader it makes him appear.
    • It seems quite possible that he's bored; Rastaban does mention that the clock's been stopped in Fascinaturu for a while now. He's decided to resurrect some human and turn her into his half-mystic daughter because it shook his court up, and he gives her far more slack for disobedience than he does Ciato because her disobedience is amusing. Having Ciato fetch White Rose back and "accidentally" issue a kill order on Asellus? Comedy gold, especially when she wins against all odds. When it stops being funny, he Labyrinths her for stealing White Rose, but isn't too disappointed to see her come back (especially if she wants to usurp him).
    • Miwa Shoda's notes—upon which Asellus' story is based—mentions that Orlouge wants his expectations to be exceeded. Pride and willfulness are mystic virtues, but Orlouge's overwhelming presence and power make his underlings completely subservient. Asellus—along with Zozma and Rei—fascinate him through their ability to resist and rebel against him.
