Science Fair
- How in the hell does Penny get disqualified from the science fair for presenting The Machine but Marcia doesn't for presenting what is plainly alien technology? Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
- That would be why Ray was so mad, yes. However, the judges kinda had a point. They thought Penny was presenting one of her father's inventions as her own, which is cheating. If Penny had been willing to claim the Machine was her father's, then they would have judged her rather interesting recycling experiment on its own merits and given her a reasonable grade. Marcia admitted she had borrowed the alien technology, which is perfectly fine. The problem is that the judges were treating it as some major accomplishment when the actual science of it was basically a really fancy potato battery. This is pretty standard for science fairs; the prettiest presentation always wins.
Jupiter colonies
- How is it possible that nobody on Earth knew of the colonies on Jupiter's moons prior to Spider intercepting Remmy's transmission? Mention is made of something that keeps happening to the Jupiter probes, but you'd think that this would lead NASA to search for the cause of this "something" and inevitably discover space stations in orbit around three of Jupiter's four major moons.
