Mark Trail was assumed dead, shot, lost at sea, rescued and healed to get shape by a woman who was being held hostage by a nearby island of drug lords who killed her husband, and all Mark's wife cares about when she is reunited with him is whether or not she was pretty?
Cherry has never been portrayed as particularly deep. Or smart. Or really as anything other than Mark's girlfriend/wife/beard.
So Jules Rivera's Mark Trail is a Legacy Character, Mark Trail IV. It's a clever way to do a Setting Update, and forgive me if this has been addressed in comics I need a paid membership to see but...how does that explain how he has the same supporting cast? Are they Cherry IV and Rusty IV?
