• So, what was up with the visions? Were they dreams, time-travel, reincarnation, ghosts haunting the city? I used to think it was the latter but with the end I think you can eliminate the last theory.
  • The visions were Ellie witnessing the past, presumably from the memories of all the victims buried in Ms Collins's house. One could assume that the flashback in which Ellie shatters glass in an attempt to help Sandie sort of allowed the ghosts to cross over and influence her the more she spent time with them. It's after that point that the visions start becoming overpowering, and hard for her to tell them from reality.
