Headscratchers / Iceman (1984)

• What is this facility for, anyway? They've got a vivarium, birds, bears, rabbits, boar. They've got a full medical facility that can handle thawing and resuscitation. They have an anthropologist on staff already! They have a huge bar with video games! And they do mining, too! Why is all this in the arctic? Really a lot of Fridge Logic there.
  • Mining and research stations in the polar regions are actually very well equipped to help the workers stave off boredom, since the isolation tends to cause a severe cabin effect fever if the mind is not kept occupied.
  • The anthropologist is shown interacting with the locals, so he may very well serve as a liaison between the populace and the mining company.
