Headscratchers / Dracula (1979)

  • So what was his beef with poor Mina that makes him want to punish her with basically the life of a zombie? Is it somehow her fault she's ill? Why not make her a second bride?
    • To be fair (as much as Dracula deserves fairness) he does visit her grave, presumably with the intention of scoping it out to remove his new bride / thrall to Carfax, but by then it is too late: Van Helsing has already spread garlic all over it. That would presumably have contained her, had she not managed to force another way out into the mine workings (One could assume her less than pretty condition is due to the extra exertion she had to go to in escaping from her coffin, and also she was probably starved because of her imprisonment).
