• If the Furon race reproduces via cloning because they lack genitals, how did they reproduce BEFORE developing cloning technology?
  • They used to have genitalia, they started cloning themselves for some reason, lost their giggle zones in the process, then sent Crypto to earth to gather "new" DNA. The fact that Crypto has a bait-and-tackle in the sequel is actually seen as an accomplishment by Pox.
  • A war with another race call the Blisk involved the use of unrestricted nuclear exchanges. As a result of the massive amount of radiation being used at home and abroad their DNA ended up seriously scrambled. While they could repair most of the damage it left them all sterile due to lacking or having nonfunctional genitalia. At this point they were already using cloning based immortality because they didn't want to face permanent death and it granted a tactical advantage. However without the recombination of DNA in new Furons the existing patterns couldn't be updated leading to degradation over time.
