Headscratchers / Cinderella (2015)

• What if Cinderella had absolutely broken down from her stepfamily’s abuse and thus turned down the old woman (the Fairy Godmother)? Would she have turned Ella into a Beastess, like how the Enchantress turned Prince Adam into a Beast in Beauty and the Beast?
  • Maybe she would have just left, since this one specifically says she's Ella's fairy godmother, and Ella not showing her any kindness might have indicated that she couldn't help her. The Enchantress just seemed to be an independent fae.
• This movie is set in France, why does Drizella think Cinderella spoke Italian? She's literally French.
  • Drizella isn't the brightest bulb, and there's theory she may have lied to save face about not understanding French.
  • The film is not set in France, but rather a small Fictional Country in Europe, and the characters speaking French as if it were a foreign language to them only goes to emphasise that point.
• Did the Captain know that Ella was "the one" when he came upstairs to fetch her? Considering he saw her with Kit in the forest and at the ball, him not surprised at Kit disguising himself amongst the Duke's entourage, and his kind manner to Ella as he requests she come downstairs to try on the slipper.
