How did no one else notice CarnEvil rising from the ground?
Admittedly, the cemetery does seem to be pretty remote, but still, it's an enormous amusement park with bright lights and loud music! Tokkentakker and Umlaut aren't helping, either. Surely there's a town not too far away where people would have seen it and called the police (Not that it would have helped, considering that this is a parody of horror movies). But still!
  • Who's to say they didn't? We never see whats going on outside the park, so its quite possible the police spent the whole night trying to shoot their way in (or, more chillingly, trying to keep the park employees from getting OUT...).

"At last we meet!"
This is what Umlaut says when he attacks you on the airship. So, Umlaut had never met the Protagonist until then? But what about the rhymes he does before each level? Were those just pre-recorded videos?
  • This is even more confusing when Umlaut also says "Hello again, and goodbye" during his fight, implying that they had met previously. On the other hand it's possible that the loading screen with Umlaut doesn't really happen or is just in the Protagonist's mind (which would account for the trippy black/purple spiral background) or something, as there are paths leading from the Shooting Gallery to the four levels. So the Protagonist must at least travel to them during the loading screen. If that was the case Umlaut's "at last we meet" could be referring to them meeting in person.
    • I thought "Hello again and goodbye" was just referring to the way Umlaut constantly flies up to the screen to attack. Anyway, if the protagonist travels to every attraction on foot, that also raises the question of why they never get attacked on the way there. Maybe it's just an Offscreen Moment of Awesome, or maybe, if the theory that Umlaut is causing hallucinations is true, maybe the monsters are aware of this, and leave the protagonist alone so that Umlaut can taunt the protagonist for a few seconds.
  • Maybe that's just Umlaut's way of saying "At last we get to fight!" Maybe this whole time, Umlaut has been ITCHING to hurt you, he just couldn't do it until Tokkentakker ordered him to. Some evidence: One of Umlaut's unused lines is "I'm on a short leash!"
