Headscratchers / Ben 10 (2016)

• In "Roundabout", why did Forever Knight even need to kidnap Ben and take him back in time? I mean, he already has Kevin and his Antitrix, which functions the exact same as the Omnitrix. He was planning on using that to track alien frequencies. So why be so dismissive of Kevin? Just to be a dick?
  • Kevin's is a ripoff, it might not have the same beeping beacon as Ben to locate the signals and has several differences with Ben's. That and Forever Knight just seems to value Ben more than any of the other Squires, otherwise the season would be over from the point Kevin joins him.

• Kevin being able to build the Antitrix is also baffling; where'd he come up with the materials in order to replicate a piece of alien technology? For that matter, where'd he even get the alien DNA samples?
  • The way he got the DNA was stated by Word of God to be explained in the future. As for the material, probably the same places Animo, Zombozo and Vilgax got what they need to make their evil machinery of the week. As we've seen with Animo, you just need the right kind of genius to do something like the Omnitrix (example: his Animerger).
    • Well that didn’t age well.
  • Vilgax sent Kevin blueprints to build an Omnitrix. Where Kevin got the materials and DNA is a mystery to me, but he most likely got his parts from junkyards and sampled DNA from Ben’s battles.

• What is up with Charmcaster's devolving? In 'Which Watch', she was restricting her destruction solely for the Tennysons where in 'What Rhymes with Omnitrix', she sees no problem in willfully harming innocents. Could it be the magic corrupting her?
  • We aren't even sure if she was sparing the camp's visitors because of standards or if she just wanted to buy herself time, she could be that insensitive for all we know, attacking others for fun the way Kevin does sometimes. At the same time, it's implied Hex is her uncle in this universe as well, and he isn't the sanest guy around either. Growing bitter at Gwen after losing to her last time might've just pushed her off-limit. Her rune might also play a part in it, rendering her power-mad the stronger she gets.

• Upon their first encounter, how did Kevin even know who Ben was in alien form? Might've missed something on that.
  • Ben makes videos of himself and publishes them online since the first season. A man and his child even recognized Ben at Biggie Box during Gwen's first encounter with Charmcaster, meaning Kevin would literally just have to search a bit about aliens before finding out about Ben.
