Super Sentai and Power Rangers have created a meta-example of Gotta Catch Them All. To further make use of the Merchandise-Driven nature of the show, the number of Humongous Mecha has expanded in recent years. Gaoranger/Wild Force is seen by many as the start of it, with 22 Power Animals/Wild Zords, all of which were released in toy form. However, there are times when the plot really is "collect all the MacGuffins".
- The Mighty Morphin Rangers also once had to go collect the pieces of the Dismantled MacGuffin, which they broke and scattered in the first place. Didn't want the bad guys to get the Zeo Crystal, didn't realize they'd actually be needing the thing later.
- Operation Overdrive revolved around the five jewels to the magical Corona Aurora crown. Other artifacts empowered by them were clues, but also powerful themselves. Its original incarnation, GoGo Sentai Boukenger instead revolves around the heroes finding and securing powerful Artifacts of Doom known as Precious to keep them out of the hands of those who could use them for wrong. Unlike in Operation Overdrive, the artifacts have no real connection to each other outside of sharing the common factor that they're, well, Artifacts of Doom.
- In Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger, the titular team are on the lookout for the Ranger Keys, which lead to the Greatest Treasure in the Universe. The thing is that they've already owned most of them, and were only missing the Sixth and Extra Ranger Keys, which were in the possession of Captain Marvelous' Evil Former Friend, Basco. Additionally, they are also looking for each previous Sentai team's Greater Power, which in addition to leading to the Greatest Treasure can also grant the Gokaigers and their mecha with special powers.
- Dino Charge has the rangers searching for the ten Energems before the villain Sledge does, as well as people worthy enough to bond with them and become rangers themselves. This is downplayed, since by the second episode they already have a five-ranger team and, therefore, five Energems.
- Dino Fury has the Rangers trying to locate the Sporix that were accidentally released in the premiere episode before they destroy the Earth. However, Void Knight is after them as well to use them as Living Batteries in a mysterious machine.
- Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger VS Keisatsu Sentai Patranger: The Gangler have stolen the Lupin Collection, a series of powerful artifacts that can grant a wish when united. The Lupinrangers are trying to collect all of the pieces so they can revive their loved ones, who the Gangler had killed in the first place.
- No.1 Sentai Gozyuger has the Gozyugers competing against the Universe Warriors and even with each other for the Sentai Rings. The first to gather all of them would be granted their greatest wish by Tegasword, who originally used the combined powers of all of the Rings to destroy a malevolent force only known as the Calamity. The Bridans of No One World are also looking for the Rings, having sent their own Ring warrior, Garyudo, to hunt them by force.
