  • This promo with Tyler Breeze and Adrian Neville, full stop.
  • After it was announced that the PPV after Takeover would be called 'Takeover 2', the fans decided that this was not good enough, and got creative with names like Takeover 2: The Quickening, Takeover 2: Electric Boogaloo, and Takeover 2: Better Than Raw on the page for the NXT live specials over at That Other Wiki.
    • Takeover 3 was alternatively dubbed Takeover 3: Return of the Zayn and Takeover 3: I Wish Ric Flair Was My Dad.
  • Any time Enzo Amore gets on the mic, expect comedy gold. AND YOU CAN'T TEACH THAT!
    • Any of Enzo and Big Cass' backstage segments, too.
    • "I wanna run down a beach into my own arms, but that's impossible."
    • Big Cass telling Aiden English, "I'm gonna drop you like an unnecessary theatre elective".
    • Enzo running over English's foot in his wheelchair.
    • Enzo, Mojo Rawley and another guy dancing.
    • Enzo's way of offering Sami Zayn encouragement before Zayn's match at R-Evolution was to offer him some milk.
    • Enzo Amore rides a leopard... thing.
  • Aiden English and Simon Gotch meeting for the first time. Gotch remains completely silent... until he decides that the best way to answer 'Who are you' is by picking up part of the set.
  • Bo Dallas and his entire act: A smarmy heel who's convinced beyond measure that he's the beloved babyface, oblivious to the booing, it's fantastic to watch.
    • Bo claims the boos are fans chanting his name. Cue the fans chanting "BOOOOO!"
    • After finally losing the belt, Bo tries to start a "Occupy NXT" movement with the fans. Cue the crowd literally turning their backs on him and JBL noting "you don't have enough people to occupy a see-saw!"
    • Him being literally dragged out by security after losing a "leave NXT" match.
  • Paige and Emma responding to a challenge from the BFFs.
  • Tyler Breeze's promo before the Fatal 4-Way at Takeover 2, which involves, among other things, labelling Zayn an uggo, Neville a hobbit and Kidd 'Nattie's husband'.
  • Bayley and Alexa Bliss deciding to high-five in the middle of a match.
  • Neville invoking Your Mom on Breeze. "Looks like you aren't the only member of the Breeze family who likes sending selfies!"
  • During the Takeover 2 fallout, Renee is interviewing the Realest Guys and asks them if they're worried about possible retaliation from the Legionnaires, but the Legionnaires' theme interrupts her before she can finish asking the question. As the theme starts playing, her expression changes from "I am genuinely amused by and interested in this conversation" to "Oh, God, these guys..." in about half a second.
  • As the bell rings for the first match at Takeover 3, CJ Parker walks about as if expecting the match to start with a typical "circle the ring, slow approach, collar-and-elbow tie-up" sequence…only for Kevin Owens to suddenly jump on the screen and crush him in the corner.
  • After Finn Bálor enters the ring with his body paint ensemble at Takeover 3, the camera cuts over to The Ascension. Viktor looks thoughtful, while Konnor's expression looks like he's thinking 'What the fuck did I just watch?'
  • At the climax of the Zayn/Neville match at Takeover 3, Zayn was swearing up a storm, all of which was muted. What wasn't muted, however, was Corey Graves exclaiming "Sami Zayn deserves to be fucked!" and then realising what he just said.
  • When "Blue Pants" (aka Leva Bates) won a match against Carmella, Enzo's WTF expression has to be seen to be believed.
    • On top of that, Big Cass's personal introduction for Blue Pants, which included singing the theme to The Price Is Right. When Blue Pants won, Cass' singing is replayed- and it takes a shot of Cass' stunned face for everyone to realise that it's a recording.
    • Even better: Cass's rendition is now Blue Pants's official entrance theme.
  • Bull Dempsey and Baron Corbin's feud, mainly because Bull tends to come off as 'Notice me, sempai!' while Corbin just wants the annoying guy to go away.
  • After weeks of hinting, Solomon Crowe finally debuts... and does so in the middle of one of CJ Parker's rants, seemingly just so he could shut Parker up.
  • Kevin Owens and Alex Riley snarking at each other while Tom Phillips and Corey Graves just watch silently.
    • One week later, Riley was trying to call a match when Owens came out, stood behind him and just stared. Once the match was over, Owens proceeded to mess with Riley as much as he could without so much as saying a word or throwing a punch.
      • After Owens beat the unholy fuck out of Riley in his match and was chased off by Finn Bálor, he stopped on his way out just to kick Riley one more time.
      • Their interactions on Twitter, which consist of Riley insulting Owens, who mercilessly corrects his spelling and grammar and mocks him for it.
  • Corey Graves responding to Byron Saxton wondering if the Blake/Murphy/Carmella/Enzo/Cass situation is 'some weird love triangle thing' with 'No, Byron, there's five of them. It's clearly a love pentagram.'
  • Solomon Crowe hacking a screen by hitting it until it does what he wants.
  • Fans have now taken to shouting "Shit!" in time with the BULL! chants of Bull Dempsey's theme. on the May 6th 2015 edition, this was loud enough that it showed through his music even with the crowd mics turned off.
  • For some reason only known to herself, Dana Brooke insists on patting Devin on the head whenever Devin interviews her.
  • Corey Graves constantly bashing Becky Lynch for not being a real rock fan is hilarious, as is Becky's responding to why Corey hates her by calling him a hipster and saying that he was expressing his feelings through insults. Corey's response to being called a hipster, which he in his own words saw on a flight to Portland "nearly made [him] spill [his] craft beer."
  • Becky Lynch's rather embarrassing first appearance involved her doing a rather energetic Irish jig. The reaction of Summer Rae was one of stunned disbelief while the then buddy-buddy Sasha Banks and Charlotte proceeded to do their own version of it on the outside. Becky has since called for all footage of her dancing to be "scrubbed from the Network."
  • Kevin Owens trolling the hell out of Byron Saxton and the rest of the commentators before commentating Samoa Joe's debut match.
  • At "TakeOver: Brooklyn", Jushin Thunder Liger mocked Tyler Breeze's pose and took a selfie himself.
  • Corey Graves saying that Mojo Rawley is 'like the results of cousins getting married'.
  • The Vaudevillains' response to Alexa Bliss telling them that BAMF are invoking their rematch clause:
    Simon Gotch: What a wench.
    Aiden English: Indubitably.
  • Asuka's post-match segment with Dana Brooke and Emma.
  • Kevin Owens' heeling during the opening ceremony of his match with Finn Balor at Beast in the East, which included throwing the bouquet offered to him at the entrance ramp and, in response to boos from the audience, shouting "I hate this stupid country!"
  • The crowd chanting "You Fucked Up!", a chant normally reserved for botches, when Dana decided slapping Asuka was a good idea.
  • During their match at Takeover: London, Baron Corbin yelled "You should have stayed in Ring of Honor!" at Apollo Crews. The closest Apollo Crews came to being in Ring Of Honor was four joint shows with Preston City Wrestling. Given Corbin's psychotic hatred of all things indy wrestling, the implication that he either considers all non-WWE promotions interchangeable or simply said Ring of Honor because it was the only one he knew the name of and assumed it applied to Crews is hilarious.
  • More or less everything that comes out of Chad Gable's mouth will induce a few chuckles, as his delivery usually falls perfectly between arrogant and goofy. For example:
Jason Jordan: We're about to challenge the most dominant tag team in NXT history. [referring to The Ascension]
Chad Gable: [genuinely confused] Uh, Jason? We can't wrestle ourselves.
  • Corey Graves' blatantly being an Eva Marie fanboy, and scream at his broadcast partners to shut up whenever Eva makes her entrance.
  • Shinsuke Nakamura comes out to challenge Finn Balor to a match, and as he's getting to the point, he starts to really stretch his words out, and the crowd builds up perfectly right with him:
    Shinsuke Nakamura: I......HAVE TO.......BEAT........(crowd OHHHHH'ing)....(silence)...YOU. (everybody cheers)
    • What makes it so much better is that as Shinsuke's about to say "you", he starts scrunching up his face like crazy, as if it's taking every muscle in his body just to finish the sentence.
    • While all of this is going on, Finn is staring at Shinsuke with a mixture of befuddlement and concern, like he's wondering "Dude, are you alright?" You'd think he'd know Shinsuke's whole deal by now after New Japan.
  • After Bobby Roode debuted on NXT along with his glorious new entrance theme, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa elected to have his music go viral with the #GloriousBomb meme. Roode himself was (mostly) not amused.
  • No Way Jose leading a conga line at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn II.
  • Anticipating a tense confrontation between Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura, William Regal sends security down to the ring to hold Joe back in the middle of Nakamura's Big Entrance. Nakamura enters the ring to look an angry Joe in the eye... and tweaks his nose.
Audience: (chanting) GOT HIS NOSE! GOT HIS NOSE! GOT HIS NOSE!
  • 8/3/16: A backstage segment between The Revival and TM-61 is interrupted by Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa insisting they were next in line to challenge for the NXT tag titles. The segment ends with TM-61's Shane Thorne stealing Gargano's imaginary ticket AND imaginary bell like a schoolyard bully.
  • During Hideo Itami's match against Mustafa Ali on 8-17-16, a fan screams out "Finish Him!", much to the delight of the crowd, Graves, and Philips.
  • Not strictly NXT, but Johnny Gargano's wedding party must be seen to be believed.
  • This promo between Shinsuke Nakamura and Patrick Clark, all the way. As the YouTube commenters put it, it's like if Prince interrupted Michael Jackson (which is funnier when you realize Clark DID quote Prince). Shinsuke rolling his eyes when Clark's music hits is also hilarious, and then just disposing of Clark with two kicks is giggle worthy too.
  • During his match against Patrick Clark on the 10/5/16 episode of NXT, Rich Swann has made some hilarious facial expressions, obviously weirded out by his opponent.
  • More Nakamura hilarity: During his 7/27 match against Wesley Blake, his opponent blows him a kiss. Nak mimes catching it, then recoiling in disgust. After catching a second kiss from Blake, Nakamura then tries passing both off to the referee, then the crowd, before finally dropping them to the ground and stomping them out with his shoe.
  • Shortly after the Crowning Moment of Heartwarming that was Corey Graves's farewell video package, he is interrupted by Elias Samson's music. Corey's reaction to the Drifter during the entire match is so hilarious that not even fellow commentator Tom Phillips can keep from laughing.
    • Even funnier is Corey's utter irritation at Elias being announced as from Pittsburgh note  and Elias cheekily waving him goodbye on the entrance ramp during this call.
  • The episode right after NXT Takeover: Orlando saw the debut of El Vagabundo, who is totally not Elias Samson in an ill-fitting luchador mask. Mind you, this was not long after Samson lost a "Loser Leaves NXT" match against Kassius Ohno.
    • What makes it more hilarious is that El Vagabundo was super over with the crowd. Apparently the luchador mask was what he needed all along.
  • The attempted sit-down interview with Nikki Cross. It went about as well as you'd expect.
  • At Takeover WarGames, in the titular match, Kyle O'Reilly tried to whack Alexander Wolfe with a chair shot, only for him to miss, resulting in the chair rebounding from the ropes and hit O'Reilly himself. Wolfe took advantage and delivered a German Suplex thereafter.
    • This nearly happened again in the 2018 iteration, with O'Reilly this time avoiding the rebounded chair shot, but he couldn't avoid a clothesline from Rowe.
    • Also in this match, as the rest of SAnitY were coming to the ring, Killian Dain threw a bunch of weapons into the ring, but no tables. As he was about to enter the match the crowd started chanting, "We want tables!" Killian just looked around at them before shrugging almost to say, "Alright why not," and getting two tables.
  • In the midst of the chaos of the North American Championship Ladder Match, EC3 and Adam Cole end up forming an alliance to take out the competition. All seems well for both of them, even exchanging high-fives...that is until EC3 decides to use Adam Cole's catchphrase while Cole is right next to him. Naturally, this ends their short lived alliance.
  • During the Triple Threat Tag Team Match at Takeover New Orleans, Kyle O'Reilly takes a German Suplex and initially seems to No-Sell it by immediately standing and screaming like a berserker... only to pathetically fall out of the ring a few seconds later.
    • After that, O'Reilly dishes out a German Suplex to Pete Dunne and mugs at the camera for a second, unaware that Dunne has landed on his feet and is about to kick him in the head.
  • There's just something inherently funny about Tommaso Ciampa coming out to no music as the entire crowd showers him with ridiculous level of heat including loud boos and "Fuck you Ciampa!" chants (think the kind of heat Roman has, except you're actually meant to boo the guy in question).
    • To say nothing of the match itself, where the crowd chanted "MAMMA MIA!" after Gargano threw Ciampa into the commentary team. Later on, they would chant "YOU DESERVE IT!" after Gargano powerbombed Ciampa onto the bare concrete floor.
    • In the weeks leading up to their match, Ciampa would attack his former best friend with some crutches. This time, he didn't have any with him, so what does he do to remedy that? Steal them from a fan of course.
  • There was just something hilarious about the reactions of Shayna Baszler in her match at Takeover: Chicago II as Nikki Cross just brushed off anything she did and actually seemed to enjoy the agony the MMA veteran dished out.
  • Whenever Emma entered, there would usually be a shot of the commentary team with William Regal or Tensai/Jason Albert doing Emma's dance along with the crowd. They've also been seen dancing to Adam Rose's music, with Jason Albert even trying to persuade his cohorts that they should all dance on the table together.
  • Velveteen Dream runs down Ricochet, saying "anything you can do, I can do better." In response, Ricochet took a quick hop before flying over the top rope into a full mid-air somersault ten feet out of the ring and landing on the ramp perfectly in front of Dream. Dream's look of utter shock was priceless.
  • Nikki Cross interrupts the Undisputed Era.
  • The October 10, 2018 show has Ciampa and Dream facing off in the ring when Nikki Cross, of all people, interrupts. The fans react by chanting "Triple Threat!" She accosts Dream, proclaiming that she knows 'what you did', then goes to Ciampa, pretends to listen to the belt, then slaps the mic out of his hand, drops to the floor and pronounces 'I know what you did too'. We then get Cross rolling on the mat while the fans chant "SHE KNOWS! SHE KNOWS!" Ciampa, for once, just looks like he has no idea what is happening.
  • Aleister Black being attacked and taken out of what was intended to be a triple threat isn't funny. What is funny is how half the roster somehow managed to be in the vicinity when the attack was going on.
  • At one point during 2018's WarGames match, Bobby Fish had just left the cage, thus letting all members of The Undisputed Era into WarGames with the remaining member of their opponent's team being Pete Dunne. Fish, realizing how dangerous Dunne would be upon entering the match, formulates a brilliant plan to keep him from enteringnote : use their cage's lock on the other cage. What really sells this moment is Fish waving the key in Dunne's face like a bully who had stolen another kid's lunch before proceeding to throw the key into the audience. This only proceeded to piss Dunne off even more than usual.
  • Also a CMOA for Pete Dunne, this exchange in the titular match from Takeover WarGames 2018:
Nigel McGuinness: Dunne trying to find the first volley but never gonna have the better of four men.
Mauro Ranallo as Dunne proceeds to kick UE's asses: But he just got the better of Cole, and he just got the better of Fish, and he just got the better of Strong, you were saying Nigel McGuinness?
McGuinness: Let—let me take those words back.
  • At Takeover Toronto II, only Velveteen Dream could have an entrance beginning with the ultra-cheesy 1990s theme song of the Mountie.
  • At TakeOver WarGames III, Kevin Owens comes out as the surprise partner for Ciampa's team. Adam Cole's expression was absolutely beautiful.
    • Earlier in the evening, Kay Lee Ray tries to come after Rhea Ripley, and Ripley responds by abruptly hurling a trash can into her.
  • On the NXT after Worlds Collide, Dominic Dijakovic congratulates Keith Lee on his title win after Damian Priest interrupted Lee's speech. He then proceeds to roast Priest by referring to him as "Bootleg Marilyn Manson". Lee would later try to mediate the two, only to leave the ring afterwards.
  • "How much fish could Bobby Fish fry if Bobby Fish could fry fish?"
  • Newly-minted Odd Couple and Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic winners Pete Dunne and Matt Riddle go on a road trip to NXT Takeover: Portland.
"Well, to be honest, I really don't know Pete that well, but I think in the spirit of the Dusty Cup that's what makes us a perfect team. And when I went to form this team with Pete, I went to him and I was like, "Hey Pete, I'm a Bro, you're a Bruiserweight. Dusty Cup. Let's do this." He gave me the Pete Special (perfectly mimics Dunne's pouty shrug), I gave him the Bro Special (does his hang ten gesture), we nodded, and the Broserweights were born."
  • NXT TakeOver: In Your House, a 90s throwback show, featured a special appearance by former WWF announcer Todd Pettengill (who jokes about 1-900 numbers being rendered obsolete). This was followed soon after by D-Generation X, looking more like a bunch of old grandpas struggling with an ancient desktop computer. In 2020.
  • Breezango vs. Imperium for the NXT tag titles on the 17th June 2020 episode of NXT started out normally enough with Imperium doing their entrance as usual...but then, instead of Breezango, we got Emporium, featuring Marsupial and Fabio, complete with a house remix of Allegro con fuoco and replicas of the Imperium tracksuit.
  • During his chat show segment on NXT UK, the Supernova Sessions, Noam Dar referred to Tyler Bate's nickname - the Big Strong Boi - and asked: "Is that what Trent [Seven, Tyler's tag team partner] calls you when you don't eat up all your vegetables?" In the same segment, Noam greeted the Spanish A-Kid with "Bonjour!" and then told him that because he (A-Kid) had won the Heritage Cup Tournament, Noam was now christening him 'A-Man'.
  • During a 12-Man Battle Royal to determine who will compete in a Gauntlet match at TakeOver Stand & Deliver, Austin Theory was knocked out but with his back to the ground and feet on the apron, thus technically still in the match as both feet hadn't touched the floor. He tries to pull an HBK or Kofi Kingston and make a miracle save back to the ring, but has the bright idea of doing a kip-up, which would still have both feet on the floor. His reaction to eliminating himself and subsequent arguing with the referee is priceless.
  • After the brutal Unsanctioned Match between Adam Cole and Kyle O'Reilly at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver, both of them needed immediate medical attention. They get carted to the emergency room side by side, with predictable results.
  • The main event of the April 13 episode (the first one post-Stand & Deliver) featured an eight-person mixed tag match between The Way (Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Austin Theory and Indi Hartwell), and the rag-tag team of Bronson Reed, Shotzi Blackheart, Ember Moon, and Dexter Lumis. Pandemonium ensues, culminating in The Way trying and failing to stomp down Indi's massive crush on Lumis.
  • The saga starting in April of 2021 as Cameron Grimes returns, claiming to now be a millionaire after investing in Game Stop. This leads to a series of videos where Grimes tries to buy a new watch, enter a nightclub, or bid on a new house... only for each time to get beaten out by none other than "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase.
  • This promo from Bron Breakker (the current NXT Champion) to both JD McDonagh and a returning Ilja Dragunov during the 23 September 2022 episode. Especially because of the "Steiner Maths" chants. For Context:
Breakker: (To JD McDonagh) You know what, I'll help you out: I'm the NXT Champion... (Points back to McDonagh) You're the Number One contender... (then points to Ilja Dragunov) You never lost your Championship... So, the way I see it if my math is correct, which it always is... (Faces McDonagh) You have a 33 1/3% chance of winning!
  • During a face-off between North American Champion Oba Femi, Josh Briggs, and Dijak, Josh Briggs calls Dijak a wannabe Shaft. After getting confirmation from him it's the Samuel Jackson one, Dijak has a very...blunt response.
"Bro I don't know if you can see this or not, but I'm white."
