Velma

  • One of the first images of the first episode is Daphne witnessing two cockroaches having sex in the locker room. She's understandably grossed out by this.
  • The entire conversation about sexuality in media amongst the girls in the locker room, particularly when Daphne and Velma stare intensely at one another. Another girl remarks that if this were a TV show, they would totally be kissing.
  • Fred being unable to remember "people who aren't hot" due to his "rudeness" disease.
  • We see what looks like Velma reacting in horror to blood...only to see it's her dad putting ketchup on old fries. Velma remarks on how gross it is, but her dad points out that last week, he saw her eat a fry from the vacuum cleaner. Later on in the episode, Velma eats a fry out of the trash can.
The Candy Man
  • Velma trying and failing to sell drugs (in order to raise the money to get her mom's cold case file from Daphne) due to being unable to resist being an Insufferable Genius to the people she's attempting to sell to.
  • Velma and Daphne getting chased by the latter's moms (due to trying to chase down the drug dealer). Daphne manages to thwart them by texting them saying she wants to adopt a cat, making them immediately abandon their pursuit.
  • Norville expressing annoyance that stoners are fans of the snacks he promotes on his livestream.
  • Norville not even bothering to try and woo Velma after seeing Daphne and Velma kiss at the end of the episode.
Norville: (dejected) Rom-coms can kiss my ass.
Velma Kai
  • Velma questions the logic in holding a tournament for a woman's self-defense group and sarcastically asks if first-prize is a gun, only for Linda to remark on what a great idea that is and crosses out the "College Scholarship" prize on the board and replaces it with "Gun".
  • Fred not being phased at all by being in prison and treating it more like a minor annoyance than anything else.
  • Lamont Rogers's revelation that the secret to being a good therapist isn't actually having a degree but wearing a non-threatening sweater that gets people to tell you their feelings.
Marching Band Sleepover Fog Fest
  • Velma has to disguise herself as a dude in order to get into Fog Fest (due to the rule about ladies being unable to enter without a date). In order to prove she's a dude, she punches Cogburn in the crotch (which also doubles as payback for him hitting her with that car previously), and he's totally nonchalant about it.
The Brains of the Operation
  • Velma finally opening the birthday gift her mother gave her as a kid before her disappearance initially seems to be a heartwarming moment-until she finds out the gift is a pair of shoes that are now much too small for her.
