"Now that's gonna ruin my facial".

  • Stacey putting her hat on before answering the phone, seemingly just to be more professional.
  • Early in the film, Mr. Conductor successfully scaring off Diesel 10 with a bag of sugar. Doubles as a moment of Awesome. The look of pure horror on Diesel 10's face make this scene even funnier.
  • Mr. Conductor goofing around with Sir Topham Hatt's hat in his office... until a picture of the man himself makes a threatening face at him.
    • When the phone rings, he literally dives for it, knocking off the picture of Sir Topham and Lady Hatt as he does, then scrambles to set it back upright as he talks.
  • The Running Gag of Pinchy hitting Diesel 10.
  • When Junior is in Mr. Conductor's house.
"Oh, how cute! Six little- (smash) ...five little glass figurines."
  • Gordon visibly shaking from Diesel 10's entrance.
  • Harold's cameo. ALL OF IT.
Splatter: Hey hey! Just watch what happens to that blue puffball...
Dodge: ...when Harold the "flopper-chopper" flies past here!
    Splatter: Right!
    Harold: Routine fly-by, chaps! Hello!
Splatter: The boss dumped sneezing powder everywhere.
    Dodge: Let's start laughing now!
(Splatter and Dodge laugh as Thomas gets covered in a dust storm of sneezing power...only for them to get blasted themselves.)
Harold: Sorry, fellas! Bit of a dust up! Love to stay and clean up. Got to go! Bye now!
Splatter: Uh, did you mean to look like that?
    Dodge: Uh, no.
    Splatter: Uh, neither did I.
Thomas: This must be Diesel's doing. Atchoo-choo!
  • And Thomas is still sneezing by the time of the engines' meeting:
    Thomas: Ah-ah...CHOO!
James: Say it, don't spray it, Thomas!
  • When Thomas leaves Annie and Clarabel behind after meeting Lily and Junior, he says he'll send Percy to get them. Their response?
    "We've heard that one before!"
  • This bit.
Mr. Conductor: Junior, I want you to listen to me and I want you to listen to me very carefully...
    Thomas: Uh oh!
  • When Thomas meets up with Junior:
Junior: Thomas! Now, don't look so surprised. I know you haven't seen me since —
Thomas: You stuffed party poppers down my funnel!
Junior: Hey, we had a laugh.
    Thomas: You did.
    • Making this scene even better is poor Lily watching this exchange in the background and getting her first experience interacting with Sodor's... unique inhabitants. Imagine being accidentally dragged along to an unknown country by a stranger, only for said stranger to immediately get into a verbal argument with nearby railway infrastructure.
  • During the climax when Diesel 10 is chasing Thomas and Lady, there's one scene where, instead of looking scared, Thomas has his regular smiling expression while looking back at him. This coupled with Diesel 10 saying, "Coming, puffball! Hahahahaha!" makes it seem like Thomas is taunting him, which when further juxtaposed with Lady's scared expression earlier in the scene, produces a subtly amusing moment in the midst of the sequence.
  • Diesel 10 introduces a new lesson called “how to stop being stupid.” He then proceeds to tap a coal hopper with his claw, resulting in him being buried under a mountain of coal, as shown in the above page image. James, Henry and Gordon find this funny as well.
    • Funnier still is right before that, with Splodge calling out Diesel 10's Blatant Lies about letting Mr. Conductor escape on purpose.
      Splatter: Liar, liar.
      Dodge: Pants on fire.
      Splatter: Does he wear pants?
      Dodge: Well, training pants.
  • Mr C recites the three R's: Reading, Writing, and 'Rithmatic...er, Responsible, Reliable, and Really Useful.
  • Mr C tells a bat and a ball to behave themselves, or he's going to put them in time out. While this would usually be seen as nothing more than a bit of goofing off, this is the Island of Sodor. Who knows what other kinds of things inanimate objects get up to?
  • Mr C at one point describes Diesel 10 as a "heavy-metal monster."
    • His response to hearing that Junior used up his gold dust is a sarcastic smile and rolling his eyes, as if to say, "of course you did."
  • According to Patch's sign, the population of Shining Time is "5006 or so."
  • Gordon is literally counting how many seconds Thomas is late (it's eight, by the way).
  • Junior has a "shell phone."
Junior: Hello?? My shell phone's not working properly!
  • No sooner does Mr. C turn his back, then Junior climbs onto one of the blades of the windmill and starts riding it like it's a Ferris wheel.
  • Mr. C says his family is good at getting out of trouble...eventually.
Thomas: I don't know what eventually means, but it sounds very, very long!
  • Diesel 10's line after failing into the barge at the end of the chase:
  • A deleted scene had the chocolate milkshake from junior's cup absolutely cover him like it was sprayed by a hose.
