• True to form, Rowling's first crime novel has lots of Black Comedy. One great moment is near the beginning of Part 2, where Guy Somé emphasized how Lula Landry had worn one of his dresses when she had jumped. Sales quickly skyrocketed.
  What better advert could there be than that Lula Landry chose to meet her maker in Somé?
• The Establishing Character YouTube Interview of Deeby Macc contains one of the most melodramatic fist bumps ever put to paper:
  “Deeby Macc,” said the breathless interviewer, “thank you very much for your time.”
  An outstretched white hand slid forwards on to the screen; Deeby raised his own in a fist. The white hand reconstituted itself, and they bumped knuckles. Somebody off-screen laughed derisively. The video ended.
• The whole scene of Strike annoying Tony Landry by making completely useless notes in his notebook. He writes things like "deeply affected" and "Bristow off rocker" and once pretends to read some very important notes about the case while actually staring at a blank page.
• Strike being completely baffled by the concept of eyebrow-threading.
  Bryony: It's like plucking, but with threads?
  Strike could not imagine how this worked.
