Funny / Spies in Disguise

Go To

  • The opening scene where Lance drops in on Kimura’s goons. One of his gadgets includes a device that emits a glitter bomb that pops out in the image of a cute kitten that gets everyone distracted by its cuteness, including Lance himself and the assailant holding a dagger to Lance's throat!
  • Lance’s reaction to the inflatable hug is both funny and a bit quotable.
Lance: This is a vile waste of taxpayer dollars.
  • Ears thinks that the whole situation of Killian impersonating Lance using his cybernetics sounds a little "Scooby-Doo".
  • Walter watching an overly dramatic Korean Drama and swooning over it, saying that dreams can come true after he's been fired.
    • When Walter comes to rescue Lance after being seemingly killed by Killian, their dialogue is in Korean, which is revealed to be Walter listening to the show on his earbuds.
  • Mid-transformation, Lance enters a blissful state and hallucinates Fluffy Cloud Heaven.
    Lance: This isn't so bad.
Walter: [appearing as the Sun as Lance tries to grab a cocktail that's floating by him] Your body's being flooded with endorphins to prepare you for the immense physical pain you're about to experience.
Lance: [registering what Walter said after grabbing the cocktail] Wait, say that again? [falls through the cloud with a scream]
    • The entire transformation sequence counts as this as Lance thinks that Walter has poisoned him in revenge for firing him. He spends most of the sequence looking like he has diarrhea and attempting to squeeze the poison out.
    • The time counts down as the transformation is supposed to happen in the next few second and Lance clenches his stomach...but nothing happens. He briefly gloats right before Walter notes that the wall clock he was using is always seconds off. Only then does the transformation very quickly happen.
  • Lance beaking out after his pigeon transformation.
    Walter: Look at me, Lance!
Lance: Look at you? I can't not look at you, Walter! I can see my butt and your face at the same time!
  • Pigeon Lance trying to get back into his car. And failing miserably.
    • Made even funnier when he tells himself that he broke into the Kremlin using a piece of duct tape and a napkin. The mental image of him using those 2 objects to break into ONE OF THE MOST SECURE LOCATIONS IN THE WORLD just boggles the mind.
  • A couple from the car chase scene:
    • As the agents ambush on Walter’s house, they make extra certain that the tree is chopped down.
Agent: I want that tree gone now!
    • Walter and Lance get into a fight over whether or not they should fire their weapons at Marcy's team. From Marcy, Ears, and Eyes' perspectives, it just looks like the car is flipping out.
      Ears: This man trippin'!
    • After that the car shuts down and spirals out of control. The car turning and twisting about without crashing makes them think Lance is just that good at driving, not by sheer dumb luck.
    • As Lance's car flips in slow motion, he and Walter are being hit by random stuff as "Close to You" plays. Lance gets hit by a wrench, while Walter gets slapped in the face by a banana and tries to catch his Game Boy in the middle of a game of Tetris, crying a Slow "NO!" when he loses. Walter also gets a burning dose of hand sanitizer to the eyes, while Lance gets a compass to the butt. Lovey, meanwhile in the midst of this, narrowly avoids being decapitated by scissors, and barely even notices. While the trio are none the wiser.
      Ears: That was tight!
Eyes: Yup, it's official: I'm a fan! [hearts appear on her glasses]
Marcy: Hey, did anyone else see a pigeon in the car?
  • During their flight to Mexico, Lance (who was bored from Walter's rambling on pigeon facts) snapped and ejected Walter from the airplane and did an evil laugh (complete with red lighting) and a hilarious delivered "Fact! You should have kept your seat belt on!". Fortunately, this was a Daydream Surprise. Doubles as Nightmare Fuel, considering the fact that Lance straight-up imagines himself killing Walter out of irritation.
  • While on the flight to Mexico, Lance tries to use the bathroom... as a pigeon.
  • Lance (as a pigeon) crazily eating food from underneath a table.
  • Jeff imitating Lance as he sneaks around the hotel.
  • Kimura's alias at the hotel in Mexico is "Not Kimura".
  • Lance as a pigeon tries to hand chop Kimura on the same spot as before, only it does nothing because pigeons aren't necessarily known for their mass.
    Lance: I miss my hands...
  • The first use of the truth serum has a few funny bits. Such as the question Walter asks Kimura to prove its effectiveness.
Walter: Kimura, what's your biggest secret?
Kimura: I peed in the pool.
Walter and Lance: That's a lot of honesty.
  • To buy themselves time, Walter and Lance need to barricade the door to Kimura's hotel suite. What do they use? A paralyzed (and boneless) Kimura, It's every bit as hilarious as it sounds. At one point, Kimura's body collapses on top of Walter and Lance; their reactions, especially Lance's, is priceless.
    • Even better, when Lance states they need something heavy to block the door, Kimura is the one who says "I'm heavy." This is what leads to Kimura being used.
  • Lovey (Walter’s pet pigeon) actually suggesting (as far as Lance can understand) that they kill Marcy. Later during the fight against Killian’s drones, Lovey blasts one drone attacking Marcy, though a subtitle reveals Lovey was aiming at Marcy’s face.
  • Pigeon Lance and Walter in the submarine. Walter hugs his buddy pigeon too tight that an egg pops out from Lance's pigeon butt. His sentence says it all.
  • It serves as a bit of Mood Whiplash, but as Lance sneaks through the ruined covert weapons facility, he still has a few holdovers from his time as a pigeon, including bobbing his head as he moves and running into glass panes.
  • Some during the final battle:
    • Lance once again Leaves the Background Music On. Killian is incredulous about this.
Killian: [in a You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me! tone] You brought your own soundtrack?
    • Walter's gadgets, though effective, have rather amusing effects. One of which is Walter's "Fifty Shades of Yay!", prompting Lance to respond, "That's hot!"
    • Marcy finally discovers Lance was innocent all along.
Marcy: Well, Sterling, I guess I owe you an apology.
      Lance: Sure, go ahead.
Marcy: No, that was it. That was the apology.
      Lance: Oh. I accept.
    • Killian, Lance, and Marcy accidentally get sprayed with Walter’s truth serum, leading Marcy to admit she has cats named after the members of New Kids on the Block, whom Lance admits to loving, while Killian admits, "I really want to hurt you right now."
      • In general, anyone who gets spritzed will adopt a derpy-eyed expression and a calm tone of voice, which can sound rather silly coming out of even the toughest of the cast.
    • When Marcy FINALLY finds out that Lance had been a pigeon for most of her pursuit, she cracks out laughing...before suddenly stopping and noting how messed up it actually is.
  • After saving the day, Lance and Walter figure they will be rehired. Smash Cut to them on the sidewalk, carrying their office belongings on boxes. Turns out, they were still terminated for treason, defying orders, among other things.
