    Anime
  • Kumoko decides to use all of her current skill points to buy the Appraisal skill, only to find out that it is pretty much useless when looking at the wall of the cave she's in in an attempt to figure out the name of place she is in gives her "Wall".
  • After gaining Poison Resistance during the battle with the acid-spitting frog, which meant you can gain skills in other ways besides buying them with skill points, Kumoko angrily wonders why she used her skill points to buy Appraisal.
  • Kumoko happens to stumble upon an egg that she decides that she wants to crack open in order to eat. After her attempts fails she wonders what kind of egg it is only to get Appraisal to tell her "Egg".
  • This exchange that the two minds of Kumoko have with one another:
Information Mind: So hot! I'm seriously on fire now!
Body Mind: Information Mind, you're burning up!
Information Mind: Oh, yeah! My whole soul's ablaze!
Body Mind: No! I mean you're literally on fire!
Information Mind: Eh? [sees that she is on fire] AAAAAAAH!
  • Kumoko runs into a Language Barrier while trying to communicate with Gyurie.note
Gyurie: It oan ne azaken. Se ak itonk a D?
Kumoko: Uh, can you speak in Japanese?
Gyurie: Na denurieik it iamo, konokosomu.
    Kumoko: No habla isekai!
    Gyurie: [tilts head]
Kumoko: Me! No understand! What you say! At all! Okay?
    Beat
Kumoko: [to herself] There's probably no Isekai Language for Dummies book, either.
    • The Ani One's subsnote  has a slightly different but still just as funny version of the exchange:
Gyurie(In their native language): Who are you?
      Kumoko(Japanese): What?
Gyurie: Why aren't you answering? Are you a subordinate of D?
Kumoko: Uh, can you speak in japanese?
      Gyurie: Spider, I'm asking you.
      Kumoko: I Can't Speak Isekai-Go
      Gyurie: [tilts head]
Kumoko: I Don't understand! What you say! At all! Okay? Im a Japanese.. No Im a Japanese Spider
      Beat
Kumoko: [to herself] How can this be I must learn Isekai-Go
  • During Kumoko's fight with Araba, Araba gets to where Kumoko is ready for a close range attack only for Kumoko to reveal that she planned a trap:
Kumoko: [In an overly sweet voice] Welcome sir! We've been expecting you! [shows a web ball that will pull a web net up from underneath Araba] What do you supposed this is?
Araba: [Has a look of shock.]
  • Kumoko has a conversation with her minds to use the line that Mother has with them through Kin Control to attack her mind. When the other minds ask what they should do Kumoko says she has no idea. Cue Face Fault from the other minds.
  • Kumoko does not take her Mother seriously, comparing the elder spider's spamming of Kin Control to a nagging parent sending text messages. Here are some of her hilarious irreverent responses:
"Ha ha! Your commands don't apply to me, Mom! I reserve the right to refuse your nonsense."
"It seems that Mother wants to register another compliant. Yeah, she's pissed."
"You're not a lonely homemaker nagging your adult kids to visit you!"
"Mother, your daughter will now outgrow you, but not literally because damn."
  • Episode 14 has Kumoko reluctantly rescue a carriage of people. From a human perspective, she is an in-universe Nightmare Fuel. In her perspective, she starts complaining that she got reincarnated as a spider instead of a cute vampire (a "pretty vampire princess") while in the human perspective, they see a large spider freaking out for some reason while hissing erratically.
    • Really, this applies to any time we see Kumoko from outside her perspective while she's throwing a tantrum. The first time we see it is when she confronts Ronandt's party - while she looks like a normal monster behavior-wise most of the time to the humans, we briefly see moments of her clearly mad as hell that her new house got burned down.
  • After most of episode 16 followed Shun's party and the inherent bits of Fanservice with wearing swimsuits to traverse waters, the episode then veers over to Kumoko treading some water herself while having a deep Imagine Spot of wearing a bikini.. as a spider. And imagining all the other monsters cheering her for it. This is immediately followed up by Ariel showing up and instantly gibbing her, sending Kumoko's now-immortal head flying through the air screaming about how unfair that was.
    • Soon after, we cut back to Kumoko's head bobbing in the ocean (with a mosaic over her bloody neck) and idly talking to herself until a sea dragon suddenly bursts from the water with a roar, cutting off the casual music.
Kumoko: [disinterested] Yeah, Dark Magic for you. [obliterates the dragon; casual music resumes]
  • Episode 18 has Sophia's father and butler discussing heavy matters of politics and possible conflict, and how "the spider" is making it all more complicated and serious. Then a guard rushes in to announce "big trouble". What is this trouble? "The spider is healing the deathly ill!".
    • Then we are treated to a sight of the long line of people at Komoko's most recent nest.
  • Episode 19
    • the anime shows Kumoko in her more monstrous, outside perspective....and even with that face still managing to look horribly nervous as she is surrounded by people worshipping her.
    • Komoko was worshipped by the people of Keren in the light novel, but the anime goes the whole nine yards into otaku territory.
      • The people visit her daily just to gush over her, with one artist in particular drawing a portrait (fan art) of her with a dreamy look on his face.
      • Merch! There are people selling Divine Beast cookies, Divine Beast plushies, and Divine Beast charms (phone dangles). Komoko privately admits that they are kinda cute.
      • Komoko tries to tell her devoted faithful to leave her alone because she is a loner, but she's a spider, so all they hear are the screeches of a Divine Beast clearly relaying an oracle to them.
  • In Episode 24,
    • Hugo makes the mistake of calling Sophia "Spooky" to her face and she grabs him by the head. Her utterly furious "huh?" is met with a delightfully confused whimper.
    • While Kumoko in her Arachne form is headless, she recovers her head just as Ariel directs her attention to her. Her lower spider body even visibly Jaw Drops just as she finishes fixing her head in place.
  • The first ending credits song can be best described as Kumoko performing a concert to the other monsters while having a mental breakdown.
  • The second opening includes a shot of what can be best described as Kumoko twerking.

    Web Novel
  • In chapter 281 we received a ranking of female character chest girth's. Number 1? Mother.
That chest girth, is a prodigious threat. It's not something that any human can beat! Flee, run away!

    Light Novel
  • Kumoko starts training Sophia, who is still a baby at this point. It is Training from Hell that boosts up Sophia's stats and skills. Why does she start doing this? Because she was bored. It is basically a real-life raising sim game for her.
Kumoko's narration: "Now that break time is over, we can get back to our super-fun death march!"
  • In volume 6, the entire sub-plot of Ronant travelling to the Labyrinth to observe — and train with — the Nightmare's Vestiges that are being trained by the Parallel Minds. They're so disturbed by the sight of a weird naked man (his clothes burned away on the first day after he mimicked their training method of self-harm to build resistance) that they just pretend he doesn't exist. Even Gyurie is visibly disturbed when he shows up later to prevent them from driving the dragons to extinction to feed their ever-growing army.

     Manga
  • In chapter 52.1, after finally evolving into an Arachne Kumoko weeps tears of joy over....finally having fingers to make a cats cradle with.
