Funny / Simon's Cat

Go To

  • In "Let Me In!", the cat tries to open the glass door with a vase of flowers, but that doesn't break the door... however, when Simon lets the cat in, the glass breaks of its own accord when he shuts the door.
  • In "TV Dinner", the cat spreads out on the couch, forcing Simon to sit on the armrest.
  • In "Fly Guy", Simon and his cat are taking a nap, when the cat gets woken up by a fly. He tries to kill it, but makes a mess of Simon's apartment. When he thinks it's dead, he tries to show Simon, but Simon is still asleep and he ends up accidentally putting it into his mouth. As it turns out, the fly is still alive and buzzes in Simon's stomach.
  • In "Catnap", the cats are napping in their baskets, but then the kitten wants to share the cat's basket. The two cats fight for a bit, before the grown cat goes to sleep in the kitten's too-small basket. Then, the kitten falls asleep on the cat's back.
  • In "Pawtrait", Simon is trying to take a photo of the kitten, but then the cat pours water over the kitten. Simon takes the photo anyway.
  • In "Washed Up", the cat has trouble sleeping on a pile of laundry due to a pea under it, like The Princess and the Pea.
  • At one point during "Field Trip", the (mouse? rat?) hides under a hat and walks.
  • The premise of "Tough Love" is that Maisie, a large cat with an unrequited crush on the protagonist, keeps glomping him and sitting on him while he tries to run away.
  • In "Bed Head", the cat drinks from Simon's cereal bowl, pulls tissues from a box, and wraps himself around Simon's neck.
  • At one point in "Copy Cat", the kitten buries the cat in blankets and pillows by mistake.
  • In "Fireworks", the cat blocks his ears with the kitten.
  • In "Head Over Heels", the cat and Chloe are playing with a balloon, but then it pops, so they run away.
  • In "The Tree", the cat jumps on Simon and kneads his back, then Simon slides back on his branch and hits his nuts.
  • "It's a Dog's Life" includes a dog with a ridiculously fluffy neck squeezing its neck through a hole in the fence, the cat shaking hands with and hugging a dog (with the dog looking confusedly at its paw when the cat leaves) and a massive dog leaping onto Simon's bed and breaking it.
  • In "Kitten vs. Birds", the birds tease the kitten by holding their wings like cat ears, but eventually fly away in fear when the kitten's stomach growls.
  • In "Snow Business", the bird taunts the cat by meowing at the cat via imitation.
  • "Crazy Time" is dedicated to a familiar scenario to cat owners: sometimes, something suddenly possesses cats, causing them to run around full tilt for no obvious reason, and then settle down again as suddenly as they started. Simon doesn't even look up from his book as he lifts the fruit bowl out of the cat's path several times; eventually, he gets the timing wrong, and the cat knocks the contents flying. In the sequel, "Kitten Crazy Time", we see that the kitten is just the same; his sudden bursts of insanity are shorter but more frequent, as the cat discovers to his cost. After two outbursts in quick succession, the kitten seems to settle down, but the cat isn't convinced at first, and just as he finally takes his eyes off his "brother", the kitten suddenly goes wild-eyed again...
  • "The Snip" shows that Animals Fear Neutering, the cat much more so than the kitten. All it takes is the kitten showing the cat his stitches and making a "scissors" gesture with his paw to cause him to go into a hand-on-forehead dead faint; the kitten doesn't even notice as he tells the story of his surgery, and when he finally sees the cat, he looks at the camera and shrugs as if to say, "What's wrong with him?"
