  • In the episode "Un-Tag My Heart", Eliza, constantly texted by her work hook-up, and kicked out of Bryn's book club, decides to sleep with Freddy that night, to have the strength to avoid sleeping with him the rest of the week, like a "Cheat day" on one's diet. She walks outside, thinking "If texting Freddy was a bad idea, I'm sure the universe would give me a sign." She is then struck by a smart car. She gets up a second later, clutching her shoulder, but trying to shrug it off "I barely felt it. It didn't even hurt." Then she falls into an open manhole, and remarks the irony of falling into such a hole while thinking about a man.
    • Then in the hospital, she tries to wink, give a thumbs up and an okay sign only to find herself in immense pain with each gesture.
  • The fact that Henry thought the song "Everybody's Working For The Weekend" was actually about choosing to work during the weekend, and the ensuing attempts by his coworkers to correct him.
  • Kevin, Charmonique's son, develops an unusually deep voice when he gets upset and starts crying. Eliza, Henry, and his own mother note that he sounds like Eddie Murphy when that happens.
  • Henry points out that many children unintentionally overdose on vitamin gummies and candies. How many calls per year does poison control get?
    Eliza: An assload.
    Henry: Eliza, the data, please.
Eliza: An estimated 50,000 calls per year. So, two assloads.
    Henry: Wow. Two assloads.
  • Eliza accidentally destroys Charmonique's very expensive collection of wigs and is desperately trying to find ways to raise the money to pay back a very angry and very disheveled Charmonique.
  • In Nugget of Wisdom, Henry has a flashback to "several years ago" in which he was obviously going through a K-pop phase.
  • In "Never Block Cookies", Charmonique mentions how she's blocked a girl interested in Henry for no reason, later admitting "wants people to be happy, but on the other hand, I don't." So by the end of the episode, Henry goes off in a car with a woman, and Charmonique asks Eliza "Want me to block it?" Eliza is noncommittal. Charmonique says "Yeah, I'mma block it." She then takes her shoes off and runs down the street after the car.
    • In the same episode, Eliza and Charmonique try to find dates for Henry online. Perhaps it's due to Unresolved Sexual Tension or denying their own feelings for Henry, but each woman only finds dates for him that resemble themselves resulting in a bar full of tall thin redheads, curvaceous African American women, and absolutely nothing in between.
    • In one scene, Sam Saperstein comes into Henry's office to find Eliza and Charmonique "rifling through Henry's things". When they explain that they're trying to find Henry a date, Saperstein initially chastises them for interfering with Henry's privacy, and pointing out that Henry is much like himself. Eliza uses this to her advantage, pointing out that Saperstein goes home to his beautiful wife, while Henry goes home to a salad. Saperstein's response sells it.
Saperstein: You can't make love to a salad! What can I do to help?
  • In the beginning of "Landline" Eliza heads to Henry's office when his assistant Charlie stops her. She goes through a list of people who might be in there, including choices that make sense before getting to Obama, and then losing her patience she says "Is it Tobey Maguire? Is it Tobey Maguire you little bitch?"
  • Eliza's idea of being supportive of Henry's girlfriend: bake her a cake in the shape of the human urinary tract. It works!
  • Eliza's introduction of the keynote speaker at Pharma-Con, mentioned as being a huge improvement from the previous year, is "Here's this guy."
  • In "Imperfect Harmony", Bryn and Charmonique have three offscreen fights throughout the apartment building, starting in the laundry room, that leave them looking worse and worse, over their conflicting advice for Eliza.
Bryn: We haven't met, Miss, but you are out of your mind.
Charmonique: I see. And do you have a man, Juno?
Bryn: I have a male cat. Do you have a man?
    • (Cut to Bryn's apartment, she has cotton stuffed in her bloody nose. Charmonique has an ice pack on her neck.)
    Bryn: ...Hack into his e-mails,
    Charmonique: Henry69! Boom, we're in!
Bryn: Bitch, don't talk loud in my house.
    • (Cut to Eliza's apartment, Charmonique's clothes are ripped)
Charmonique: She's stronger than she looks though.
Bryn: See, that's part of my game. I like to come off as completely nonthreatening so that men feel comfortable approaching me.
Charmonique: And yet, they never do.
    • (Cue Eliza walking out of the apartment, leaving us with a glimpse of Bryn spearing into Charmonique.)
  • Eliza deciding to "Gone Girl" Henry, after he rejects her, by laying on the floor and pretending as though he stabbed her (covered in ketchup), imploring Joan to read her diary, while Henry can only watch, shocked.
