• Kemal gets knocked down the stairs by the bad guy as he makes his escape. When Liz calls an ambulance for him, he insists he's fine. She holds her hand in front of his face, and asks "How Many Fingers?" When he can't answer, she simply tells him "Ambulance."
• Anwar is effectively the comic relief for the whole book, with his plotline generally putting him in absurd situations and interactions with very strange people, and more than a few narrative Gilligan Cuts. Whether it is being flown to a job interview in a newly created (and very poor) country in a plane full of livestock or having a meeting with someone in his office while his Augmented Reality glasses play (ahem) rather inappropriate movies just because the other person can't see them and he's bored.
