  • Claudia is ignorant about who Al Capone is in the second episode and fails to realize how everyone else knows his name, which becomes a Brick Joke when she keeps doing more unneeded) research on him.
    • At the end of that episode, the hotel clerk's confusion as Sydney and Nigel (who checked in as husband and wife for their cover) check out and Nigel is making out with his Girl Pf The Week behind Sydney's back, while Sydney talks to the man who get them interested in the case about "the baby" (his newborn son) as the hotel clerk looks more and more scandalized and bewildered.
  • In order to get information from a fifteen-year-old student about a find, Sydney has to get him a date with an unhappy Claudia. At the end of the episode Claudia calls in the favor Sydney owes her by setting Sidney up on a date with someone else who has a "slight age difference." Sydney replies she's mature enough to handle that only for a very elderly professor to come into the room and say he's ready for Sydney to go, and to promise Claudia an extension on her homework for this favor.
  • Nigel tells an old friend that he's the professor and Sydney is his TA, and that man reacts funnily, as does Sodney.
  • Nigel's reactions to Sydney's Shameless Fanservice Girl moments in the early episodes.
  • Sydney is seen hitting a punching bag at the end of one episode, then Claudia telling Nigel about how she's been in there a while ever since she got an invitation to a museum dedication that revealed how a self-interested cowardly guy who was with them on the relic hunt stole all the credit and is having a museum wing named after him. It then cuts back into the office revealing a picture of that guy's face taped to the punching bag.
  • Claudia gets paranoid about vampires due to research she did for Sydney during one weekly adventure, then ending up dressed as a Goth herself after getting a crush on them (with a skeptical Nigel saying she wanted him to drive her to the emergency room over a paper cut once).
  • Quite a bit from "Nothing but The Truth", most but not all of which involves the chalice of Truth.
    • The triplet sisters, two of whom like Nigel while one doesn't, earning him a kick to the groin before learning they're sisters and not one girl.
    • The ex-convict cooking student being revealed to have the chalice of truth when he admits how he might not have paid his debt to society given all the bank robberies and murders he was never caught for.
    • The chef running the school is revealed to have the chalice when he goes full-on French Jerk and calls everyone else a pathetic bunch of students he doesn't feel guilty overcharging, then goes on about how the triplets will only get customers who are interested in looking at their breasts and that the ex-convict could save money on cooking oil by squeezing grease out of his hair.
    • Harper gets the chalice and talks about how pathetic he is, referring to a Noodle Incident in Berlin that involves a dominatrix and a chicken.
    • Claudia admits to her study partner that she's stringing him along with promises of a date when she has the chalice. Nigel then uses it to make her admit to Sydney she didn't properly do some paperwork. Claudia angrily gives him the chalice, making Nigel admit he didn't teach a class he had to substitute.
  • Claudia is reluctant to practice self-defense because of her new manicure and the "scary encounter" that made her want to defend herself in the first place was a cop giving her a ticket.
  • The scene of Claudia trying to chase after the magician's dove in "A Vanishing Act".
  • Sydney and Nigel sneak away from two reluctant partners (while they only have two sleeping bags for the four of them). Upon realizing that they've been ditched, one of those guys tries to wake up his partner, who drowsily hugs him and calls him by a girl's name.
  • Claudia once mixes up astrology and astronomy.
  • Claudia's Line-of-Sight Name Basil Oregano (from a cookbook) about the fake realtor she has helping her.
  • Nigel and Sidney (who was initially uninterested in it) fighting over the book describing the romantic methods of the original Casanova. The next scene has Nigel walking in, bent over and clutching his crotch. Sidney asks if he got a Groin Attack for trying what was on page 67. Nigel says not to be ridiculous and the admits it was page 72. Noticing the book is missing, they go to Claudia's desk, where she's reading it, hidden inside of a magazine, and asks if they could explain some of the terminology better for her.
  • Claudia and Nigel scramble to retrieve an old yearbook with a picture of Sydney as a cheerleader after she tosses it in the trash.
  • Vladimir Bugos leaves Sydney and Nigel out of his book about his accomplishments due to resentment that they called him a conspiracy theorist.
  • Claudia (while filling in for Sydney as a technical advisor in a movie) makes suggestions designed to help her with Eating the Eye Candy, such as that the actor playing an archeologist should be shirtless and sweaty when coming out of a humid tunnel and lying that a bunch of Anubuis cultists (originally in robes) should be naked for the scene, all the while the movie star and director are none the wiser.
  • In Karen's first episode, the way she walks in on a coworker looking at bikini photos on his computer.
  • The way Karen gets another guy to pose as Nigel for an appointment to get him an apartment.
  • Nigel and Karen become convinced the horror writer who asked Sydney to help find an artifact is a real vampire, and then there’s Sydney's reaction at the end to seeing the cover of his latest book, with the heroine modeled after her.
