• Chapter 9: Agatha is insulted when Gil suggests "whisking her away to Castle Wulfenbach." Gil apologizes, it's a nice moment between them... and then he says he wouldn't have a problem with her whisking him away.
  "I think your father would object," Agatha pointed out.
  "We could build a decoy," Gil said.
  When the waitress returned to their table with steaming mugs, she found them giggling and scribbling on napkins.
• Chapter 14:
  • The trio of Gil, Ducky, and Higgs, infiltrating Castle Heterodyne. Gil doesn't know who Ducky is, Ducky doesn't know who Gil is, and neither of them know who Higgs is (but he knows who both of them are).
  • Ducky understands just enough of the Geister language to get the gist. Higgs accidentally drops a hint that he's fluent, but Gil and Ducky don't notice.
• Chapter 15: Gil, Ducky, and Higgs decide to attack the Geisters.
  Gil was starting to have second thoughts about this plan, though it would have perhaps be more accurate to say that he continued to have second thoughts, as he'd had them since stepping into Castle Heterodyne in a continuous process.
