During Kane's Stroggification, when he receives his cybernetic hands, he tries them out like he's saying to himself "Wow, these are so cool!". Considering his Major Injury Underreaction through out his reassembly, this can be push the mood into comical.
After Kane's rescue:
Sledge: Welcome back, Corporal Kane. May I be the first to say you look like shit.
The incessant whining of Strauss gives him the effect of Plucky Comic Relief. He even gets told mockingly "Shut the hell up, Strauss." by Bidwell in the introduction after quipping that "A man like Kane could get us killed.", and also gets a satisfying chew-out by Voss for whining about being trapped behind a door after Rhino Squad suffered a fatality from a Harvester while transporting an EMP device.
Strauss: Lieutenant Voss. This is Strauss. What has happened? I cannot open the door. Please, I need help Lieutenant. Voss: Shut the hell up Strauss! Half the squad is dead! So why don't you be quiet while we pick up the pieces! Strauss: (Sorrowful) Yes sir.
Strauss also doesn't seem to grasp that you need to mow through deadly cyborgs just to get around the Strogg facilities.
Strauss: Corporal Kane you should have been here long ago, but we will speak of this some other time.
