Even though the circumstances surrounding it are very dramatic, there's something amusing about Pibby being saved from the Darkness by the end credits rolling, complete with sudden happy music. Pibby herself is immensely confused by the sudden shift.
Pibby: Where am I?
Pibby also sees the name of the show's creator, Dodge Greenley, making her more confused for a brief second just before she's sent to another world.
Finn's reaction to the word appearing. He looks like he just found a free cookie or something.
A commercial for a kids' product, as a homage to early 90's commercials, is crashed by Pibby, Melira, and Alloy Boy as they fight the glitch advancing towards them.
While trying to discuss plans on what to do with Alloy Boy and Melira, Melira sarcastically suggests to Pibby that they use the Power of Love to fight back against the Darkness. The innocent Pibby agrees quite quickly to the idea... only for the scene to cut to a much later point, with a more aggressive Pibby wielding a freaked out Care BearExpy as a weapon with their Care-Bear Stare (pictured above).
April Fool's Day Takeover:
During a special airing of the Rick and Morty episode "Total Rickall", Pibby and BunBun appear at the very end and incorrectly guess that the whole thing is a Halloween special... all while the Darkness begins to corrupt the closing credits.
In the same episode, after Rick points out that his room is a "Where's Waldo" page, Pibby and BunBun are seen amidst all the parasites, and then the Darkness starts consuming the room...
Also, when Summer is in Never Past Bedtime Land, Pibby and BunBun just stand in the corner looking around uncomfortably.
During the scene, we suddenly cut to Pibby and BunBun watching from off-camera. Pibby is absolutely horrified at her first exposure to real violence, but a corrupted BunBun watches with child-like glee.
Other:
The teaser poster features a corrupted Mordecai doing his iconic "OOOOOOOOOOOH!" pose, a sharp contrast with how creepy the other corrupted characters look.
