Lewis, meet your future adoptive father.
  • Dr. Krunklehorn arriving to judge the science fair
"Is that a bow tie? I like bow ties. I HAVEN'T SLEPT IN EIGHT DAYS!"
    • "You can stay awake for days with no side effects."
      • Followed by a shriek.
    • One of the contestants is Lizzie, whose display is of fire ants. When asked about them biting people:
      Only my enemies.
  • At the science fair, Lucille is being shown the projects. One of the participants is Lizzy, who has provided a fire ant farm. Fire ants can (and will) bite, so what does Lucille do? She starts poking the glass of the fire ant arm!
  • Wilbur bumping into one of Lewis's schoolmates and accidentally setting her frogs loose. Doubly so when we learn that the girl is the past version of his mother.
Wilbur: Annoying little girl, I don't have time for this!
Girl: Don't ''sass'' me, boy! I Know Karate!
  • The whole introduction to the future is considered an Moment of Awesome, how we got there however is rather hilarious.
Wilbur: If I prove to you I'm from the future, will you go back to the science fair?
    • Thus leaving Wilbur to throw Lewis off the roof of the orphanage. Lewis falls and screams, lands inside the invisible time machine, stops for a moment, and then screams harder when he thinks he's floating mid-air.
  • Both Wilbur putting on the Carmen Miranda hat, catching Lewis totally by surprise, and eventually realizing it's nuts and switching it out.
Wilbur: Dude, I can't take you seriously in that hat.
  • The Robinson Family are an entire mix of Funny Moments, Heartwarming Moments, and Moment of Awesome.
  • Grandpa Bud showing Lewis around the house:
Bud: Oh, I bet Lucille is baking cookies. [opens the door to show Lucille dancing in a disco room] Bake them cookies Lucille!
  • Wilbur's description of his plan to Carl, featuring tiny sculpted versions of himself and Lewis... but not the time machine.
Carl: Why is it an acorn?
Wilbur: I didn't have time to sculpt everything.
    • What makes this Hilarious in Hindsight is the fact that, roughly a decade after this film was released, three dimensional printing became a reality, meaning that Wilbur actually could sculpt the figures within a few minutes, but just chose not to do the time machine.
  • Definitely the Tom Selleck joke.
    • Plus:
Lewis: ...Spike and Dmitri are twins, and I don't know who they're related to.
Wilbur: Neither do we. Go on.
  • When trying to figure out where Lewis went, Doris and Bowler Hat Guy split up on the roof of the orphanage to look for clues. Doris finds time travel residue and DNA of Wilbur Robinson. Bowler Hat Guy is absolutely delighted with his find... a stick.
  • One of Bowler Hat Guy's ideas to lure Lewis out of the house is to turn him into a duck. Which he soon realizes is a terrible idea because he doesn't know how to do that and turning Lewis into a duck is not beneficial for his plans.
Bowler Hat Guy: Oh, I know! I'll turn him into a duck! Yes, yes, it's so evil! Oh... but I don't know how to do that... and I... I don't really need a duck...
    • Another idea he had was to blow up the entire Robinson house, until he remembers that this would kill Lewis.
      • You know what? Most things that Bowler Hat Guy says and does can be marked as this.
  • This conversation.
Lewis (to Uncle Art): Is dinner like this every night?
  • Frankie (controlled by Mini-Doris). Specifically this:
Bowler Hat Guy: Excellent! You are now under my control!
Frankie: (Robotically) I am now under your control...
Bowler Hat Guy: Hee hee hee hee!
    Frankie: Hee hee hee hee....
    Bowler Hat Guy: Stop laughing...
    Frankie: Stop laughing....
Bowler Hat Guy: DON'T REPEAT EVERYTHING I SAY!
Frankie: I won't repeat everything you say...
    Bowler Hat Guy: Excellent!
    Frankie: Excellent...
Bowler Hat Guy: Uhhh, did you just say excellent because I said excellent?
    Frankie: Uhhhhhh....no?
    Bowler Hat Guy: Excellent!
    Frankie: Excellent...
  • "I have a big head and little arms!"
  • This:
Bowler Hat Guy: (after releasing the dinosaur) Doris will be so proud of me!
(cuts to Doris who looks absolutely furious)
  • Tiny the T-Rex's entrance. Everyone is scared, except Lewis.
Lewis: [excited] Why didn't you tell me you had a pet dinosaur?
  • "Little Doris now sleeps with the fishes." Doris takes the monitor from Bowler Hat Guy and smacks him upside the head with it.
  • Bowler Hat Guy's ultimate reveal that he's Goob comes about by... ripping off his cloak to reveal he's still wearing his ratty old children's baseball uniform. The overly dramatic flourish is what really sells it.
  • More completely unreliable narrating from the bowler hat guy:
    Kid: Hey Goob! Cool binder!
Other Kid: Hi Goob! Wanna come over to my house today?
Bowler Hat Guy: They all hated me...
  • When Bowler Hat Guy has Lewis captured and is telling him his entire backstory, he talks about how he met Doris, and says that "we retreated to our villainous lair". The footage shows that they actually went to an adorable kiddy theme restaurant.
  • Bowler Hat Guy revealing to Doris his brilliant plan to get revenge on Cornelius Robinson...with toilet paper. Doris comes up with the idea to steal the time machine. Bowler Hat Guy says it best:
"And though my plan was brilliant, Doris' was...well, let's just say we went with Doris'."
    • His initial plan before meeting Doris is revealed as him egging Robinson Industries and yelling "Robinson! You stink!"before he pulls out the toilet paper, his narration stating he was on the brink of destroying Robinson Industries.
  • This. About twenty-eight seconds in.
  • The singing frogs.
    • Singing frogs with mafia connections. "Little Doris now sleeps with the fishes."
  • Lewis pulling out the "I am your father, young man" detail to win an argument against Wilbur near the end of the film.
  • The "Cornelius comes home scene" full stop. Franny's deliciously flat "Oh boy...", Bud's casual "Well, he's home early", Cornelius bursting in yelling about the time machines being gone only to spy Lewis, his younger self who waves sheepishly and after being singled out for causing the whole mess, Wilbur's remark of "Ratted out by the old lady. Harsh."
  • For the DVD, every time the director's commentary gets interrupted by Bowler Hat Guy and Doris.
  • The entirety of the deleted scene where Wilbur talks Carl into helping, especially Wilbur's over-the-top Crocodile Tears and Carl's yell of "Get on your skateboard and fly, little monkey, FLY!".
