  • The Institutions of the City, horrible and insane as they are, are very difficult to take seriously because of how ball-bustingly awful and insane they are. Any discussions about them are inevitably going to degenerate into memes and it's for a good reason —- it's simply very difficult to take something like, for example, a transport system that traps people in 2,000 year hellholes where they eat their own and restore them in one click of a button.
  • The EGO card of Laetitia. It seems to be nothing out of the ordinary, if a little lackluster at first sight with its single Blunt dice that can deal a big hit of damage. However, any enemy hit by said attack, they will gain a page (which makes this EGO one of the rare ways to alter your enemy's deck). This page named 'Small Gift' is a piss-poor defensive card with only one Block dice with a hilariously low roll of 1-2, and the absolute cherry on top is that the enemy will use this card no matter how sophisticated their moves! This means that anything with no Shimmering is hit by this attack - for all their cunning - will be forced to do something this stupid! The only thing slightly holding it back is the fact that 'Small Gift' exhausts on use, though the EGO does not.

    Story Receptions

Canard

Urban Myth

Urban Legend

Urban Plague

  • The post-reception scene for the Carnival features Roland trolling Angela by speaking in the same way the aforementioned Guests were:
Roland: Exhausted? Tired. Want rest? Hungry. Want out?
Angela: Want amputated? Bones melt. Flesh explode? Won't die.
    Roland: ... Sorry, ma'am. I'll stop here.
  • There are two morbidly amusing moments in the pre-reception scenes for Full-Stop Office.
    • The first one involves the Full-Stop Fixer's panicked attempt to get away from the Blue Reverberation. They attempt to find a pen to sign the Library's Invitation only for the Blue Reverberation to interject:
Liwei: Anyone got a pen? We need something to sign the paper wi-
Argalia: Ah, you can use mine. Take your time now.
    • Moments earlier, Argalia agreed to spare them under the condition that they tell him who ordered them to kill Eileen, giving them ten seconds to either spill the beans or die. He counts down from 10 to 6, when Liwei asks for a pen; he lends her his... and then skips straight to 4.
    • The second moment involves Stephan's hilarious pessimistic greeting to Angela.
Stephan: Hellooooooo~~ I'm Stephan, soon to be dead and shelved into your bookcases.

Urban Nightmare

Star of the City

  • While Angela is typically polite towards her Guests, being at her worst only slightly aloof and formal towards those she particularly dislikes, she becomes uncharacteristcally rude to Myo in the first RRR Corp reception, giving Myo this hilarious line:
Angela: You're still rambling stupid nonsense, unable to read the mood. If you're so curious, you can read a book to find out. Oh, in case you don't know what a book is... It's a bundle of pages made of paper that you can hold in your hands and read.

Impuritas Civitatis

  • After all you have done, the final reception is a not-so-friendly visit from the Head. Instead of what you'll expect from a such a dangerous organization ran by madmen, you're greeted by a woman who is only very slightly taller than Malkuth who spews out enigmatic prose at every sentence she speaks, aside that said woman is an Arbiter accompanied by a Claw Executioner and they meant serious business. It manages to be dissonant and absurd at the same time knowing these are the apex predators of the City.

    Patron Librarian Stories

Malkuth

  • The third begins with Malkuth looking back at her life in Lobotomy Corporation. When Malkuth asks Roland if he cares to listen to her story he brazenly turns her down. Malkuth blows up at his refusal since he's supposed to agree to these kinds of things to which Roland complains if she's going to tell it anyway, why bother giving him an option. Malkuth concedes on that point before continuing on.

Yesod

  • In Yesod's second episode, Yesod proceeds to insult Roland, calling him, "Angela's lapdog". While that alone may not be all that humorous, perceptive players will notice that the game immediately changes Roland's title from "Servant" to "Lapdog" for the rest of the episode.
  • There is also the tense situation when the two first met, with them staring daggers at each other, only for Yesod to go and correct Roland's tie, breaking the ice in a way.

Hod

Netzach

Tiphereth

  • Although the context is sad, in her first interlude when Tiphereth talks about Enoch, Roland assumes he was Tiphereth's boyfriend. When she says that she knew him in both her first and second life, Roland concludes that he dumped her twice and offers his condolences. Tiphereth eventually gives him the whole story, whereupon he hastily apologizes.
    • This interlude also features Roland musing on the way the books are read, comparing it to how light can be perceived as either a particle or a wave. Tiphereth snaps at him and says he's being nonsensical.

Gebura

  • A small one, but when Roland asks Gebura about her past life and how rough it could have been, she simply states that she is from District 23. Rolands reaction can pretty much be summed up as "point taken".

Chesed

Binah

Hokma

    Chit-chats
  • The first chit-chat involves around the lower layer Patron Librarians unable to find Netzach, who was supposed to help clean the Library for the day. After talking with Angela and Roland (who nervously asserts that he has no idea where Netzach is), Angela summons Netzach, who is completely drunk by this point, to the lower layer Patron Librarians, whom begin to chew Netzach out for slacking off. Netzach tries defending himself, claiming that Roland had told Netzach about a place to hide out in return for some alcohol (over Roland's increasingly panicked attempts to stop Netzach from snitching). The end result is Roland getting dragged into helping Netzach for cleaning duty not only for this time, but for the future as well much to his dismay.
  • The ninth and final chit-chat begins, out of all things, with Binah and Chesed arguing over whether tea or coffee is superior.
Chesed: Sorry, but coffee is still the king of all drinks~
Binah: It is quite a shame that such is the pitiable hill you choose to die on. Perhaps your tongue has been paralyzed by the overbearingly thick, strong flavor and scent.
