That face tells you everything you need to know about what's happening.

During your adventure across The Forgotten Land, there will be moments that will make you laugh.

  • Kirby's face whenever he's surprised or shocked, which can best be described as an O.O face. Case in point: the page image, right when Kirby sees the ominous portal tearing Dream Land apart.
    • And later, during a legitimately chilling moment in which Fecto Forgo begins assimilating the Beast Pack, for a split second, you can see a Bernard make the exact same face while everyone is getting eaten.
  • Mouthful Mode is always good for a laugh. Seeing Kirby stretching over cars, vending machines, staircases, and more looks absolutely absurd. On top of that, Kirby keeps the copy ability hat which only works to make it look even sillier! Such as when Kirby has the Meta Knight Sword ability equipped before inhaling a cone. Imagine a cone-shaped Kirby with Meta Knight's mask just balancing on the pointed top.
    • In particular, the stage that introduces Storage Mouth: Kirby can shake down lockers and tip them over to reveal secrets behind them. However, the last time you suck one up in Alivel Mall, the lockers are bolted to the wall. Kirby's struggle to get it loose leads to him bringing the entire wall down.
    • Water Balloon Mouth. Kirby ends up drinking so much water he inflates to the size of a large truck and you can actually see the water sloshing around inside him.
    • Vending Mouth has Kirby launch soda cans out of his mouth which have enough power to smash solid-steel crates and other objects, and can heal himself with dropped cans. If you run out of them, the counter reads "NO SALE".
    • Speaking of large trucks, the final boss-exclusive Big Rig Mouth (see below for more specifics). The stakes are at their highest: Fecto Elfilis is about to use Planet Popstar for a Colony Drop and the heroes have to do something — cue Big Badass Rig (complete with flame paint) landing nearby, which Kirby quickly decides to inhale. It's the most he stretches for a Mouthful form, and it is so ridiculous it just becomes hilarious despite the situation they're in. It's pretty good Nightmare Retardant after Lab Discovera.
  • Mr. Frosty's figure suggests that he joined the Beast Pack because he'd get a cool new outfit.
  • While walking around Waddle Dee Town, if you happen to attack any of the Waddle Dees, they act hurt and play dead for a couple seconds before getting up waving to Kirby. If a Waddle Dee happens to be in a group, the other Waddle Dee(s) just stare at the attacked Waddle Dee as it lays on the floor and laugh as it gets back up to wave.
  • Alivel Mall has conveyor belts that lead off the edges of high areas, and there's a spike pit in the middle of a loop of conveyor belts. Alivel's architects sure had some safety issues.
  • When using Bomb or its upgrades, any bombs that land in the water will somehow get an inflatable ring for them to float.
  • Given how Awoofies are the Beast Pack counterparts to Waddle Dees, they can be found just sitting around doing their own thing just like the Dees. Such as in Alivel Mall where you find them sitting around tables of food, and after Kirby picks up every food item, they still don't do anything. Just sit there staring off into space.
  • Likely because using large amounts of Gordos as obstacles wouldn't work well on a fully 3D playfield, Forgotten Land introduces the Gordo Bar. It's similar in looks and purpose to the Spike Bars from Super Mario 3D Land, but as an extremely wide Gordo with its eyes still very close together, it looks much sillier. They're the only new non-Beast Pack enemies in the game, and the lack of any explanation of them in their figure adds to the ridiculousness. One of the post-game bosses, Phantom King Dedede, weaponizes them by rolling them across the floor in addition to throwing standard Gordos, and you can even see a whole pile of them set up on the edge of his arena.
  • Kirby can decide not to use Sword against Meta Knight by just casually smacking aside the sword he leaves in the arena for you.
  • The way in which the brainwashed King Dedede captures Elfilin manages to be a strange mix of Black Comedy, awesome, and Nightmare Fuel. After you beat Dedede at Winter Horns for the first time, Kirby, Elfilin, and the Waddle Dees do the usual victory dance, but once the clear screen pops up, Dedede gets back up and stands right behind Elfilin with a cage at the ready. And he'll just stand there with everyone else and wait in that anticipation stance for however long it takes you to proceed. Yes, that's right: The happy dance and freeze frame that Kirby and his friends do at the end of each stage is actually something they do in-universe, and Dedede exploited it!
    • Even funnier, as stated before, Dedede himself doesn't interrupt the victory dance, he'll patiently wait for the player to press the A button. During that time, you can almost hear Ted Lewis laughing in his Dedede voice as the penguin watches Kirby and his friends posing for some probably nonexistent photoshoot in-universe.
  • Sillydillo's third phase has him pull out a homemade dance partner made out of junk and proceeds to do a lethal spinning dance with it before throwing it at you and pulling out another one. In the short cutscene where he presents it, its eye falls out of place and he hastily adjusts it while looking embarrassed.
  • Once Kirby reaches the final area, Lab Discovera, a pre-recorded voice informs him and the player that the facility houses a containment unit for the alien monster which came close to destroying this world and its ecosystems. While the backstory and the setting play up the creepiness of the creature Kirby is about to face, there is something darkly hilarious about the fact that the former inhabitants of the planet decided to turn the ultimate destroyer's holding cell into a tourist attraction, giving guided tours of the containment unit to children. The whole thing wouldn't be out of place if this was an Aperture Science scheme.
    • As the elevator rises, one has to wonder — what could possibly be giving power to ID-F86? The answer: thousands of Waddle Dees on giant hamster wheels. The specific Waddle Dee the camera focuses on then trips before the camera zooms back out.
    • The cheery voice recording is backed up by a cheesy remix of the game's main theme! And don't forget, Lab Discovera is immediately after Dedede sacrifices himself to save Kirby and some of his Waddle Dees to hold the rest of the Beast Pack minions at bay. And immediately after the elevator, we get another genuinely chilling scene after the boss battle with Leongar. Sometimes you have to wonder if the developers intend for Mood Whiplash...
    • Just the sheer fact that Fecto Elfilis, the Ultimate Life Form, Eldritch Abomination who can pull meteors down from Space, and one of the most evil characters in the entire franchise, was literally turned into a tourist attraction is hilarious all on its own; as well as an Awesome Moment for the inhabitants of the New World.
  • Once you reach the end of the gauntlet as Big Rig Mouth Kirby in order to stop Fecto Elfilis from sending Popstar on a collision course with the New World, they give the most subtle expression of exasperation (a narrowing of their eyes and a slight slumping of their shoulders) that communicates extremely well just how frustrated they are with the pink puffball’s persistence.
    • Just the fact that Kirby defeats Elfilis by running them over with a truck is funny, considering how Kirby Final Bosses usually go down with The Power of Friendship, vaporizing them with a Wave-Motion Gun, or using a souped-up weapon.
    • There is also the fact that prior to using the Big Rig, Elfilin and Kirby were panicking over how to stop Elfilis... then the Big Rig conveniently drops next to them and without hesitation they decide to use it to ram Elfilis.
    • The fact that the Big-Rig attack destroyed Fecto Forgo's body and forced its soul to retreat into its dreams brings to mind how many Isekai plots start — a character gets hit by a truck, dies, and is sent to/reincarnated in another world.
    • Even better, a common joke is that Kirby and the Forgotten Land is itself an Isekai, making this an Isekai within an Isekai or Isekai-ception.
    • There's a lot of dark humor to be found in Kirby taking on the Ultimate Lifeform, the final animal in a game full of animals to fight... and Kirby pretty much makes them into roadkill. Ultimate roadkill!
    • Just the mental imagery of Kirby essentially becoming "Truck-kun" and is "Isekai'ing" the final boss is enough to keep anyone amused for a long time.
  • Cone-Mouth Kirby can breakdance. No seriously, Cone-Mouth Kirby can breakdance!
  • Once you free Dedede after the Lab Discovera fight, he'll be found in Waddle Dee Town chilling in his memetic "sexy Dedede" crouch pose from Super Smash Bros..
  • Upon first reviving Leon in the isolated isles of Forgo Dreams, Kirby and Elfilin do their usual victory dance while Leon looks at them, rather confused. Then he starts getting into it, nodding his head to the beat before joining them in the final victory pose.
  • Forgotten Land repeats the same gag with Morpho Knight's appearance as Star Allies did, where an imposing foe reveals itself and gets Boss Subtitles before being effortlessly absorbed by Morpho Knight's butterfly form. Since Forgo is specifically named "Soul Forgo" in its subtitles, its quick defeat (until The Ultimate Cup Z, where it gets a different name) is possibly a self-aware joke about the series' trend of creating "Soul" forms for its final bosses, akin to Star Allies introducing Morpho Knight by having it absorb what would've been yet another Galacta Knight duel.
  • The fact you get Waddle Dees for doing random things. The implication being that the Beast Pack sees Kirby doing things like eating four doughnuts at Alivel Mall, and think "Man, that's impressive. We're so impressed, we'll set a Waddle Dee free for that."
  • It seems that between Kirby Fighters 2 and this game, Kirby learned how to read and write. However, according to the Delivery Waddle Dee figure, he still has awful handwriting.
  • Some of the Copy Ability upgrades are good for a laugh or two.
    • In a bit of memetic humor, Ranger. Fans already joked about Kirby being a bloodthirsty killer. So imagine everyone's initial reaction to seeing the pink puff wielding a gun.
    • The name of the Ranger Copy Ability's most powerful form? Space Ranger. The complete lack of any concrete Buzz Lightyear allusions is just a travesty, really.
    • The second drill variant? Pencil Drill. As in Kirby runs around with a pencil sharpener on his head with a sharpened pencil sticking out. And it's somehow sharp enough to dig! Mightier than the sword, indeed.
    • Clutter Needle is back as the second variant for the same ability. And the hat literally looks like Weapons Shop Waddle Dee took whatever pointy objects he could find and glued them to a helmet. Comparisons to Katamari Damacy seem inevitable, especially given how Needle works in this game.
    • If you look closely at Crystal Needle, it includes a tiara.
    • The second tier for Hammer is Toy Hammer. As in Kirby puts on a bike helmet and starts slamming enemies with a giant squeaky hammer. Which does more damage than a giant wooden mallet.
    • Crash’s upgrade Time Crash. The Dio Brando/The World jokes write themselves.
    • Masked Hammer is an absolute thrill to use, but if Kirby charges up the Hammer Flip attack too much, the hammers burn off… leaving him standing in the charging pose holding a pair of burnt handles.
    • Sleep’s upgrade Deep Sleep. The hat is a crescent moon and starry clouds, which turn into a pillow and blanket respectively when Deep Sleep is activated, along with a bed. And as a little extra hilarity, if you activate it close enough to an enemy (i.e. Mr. Sandbag), you can do a little chip damage! There's also the various places Kirby can sleep, from flowing rapids, harsh deserts, burning lava, boss fights, and also on his own bed, making Kirby sleeping on a bed on top of another bed. Sleeping all the way will give Kirby a random power up, and he can get all three with patience and luck. That’s right, Kirby can get more powerful just with a good night’s sleep.
  • Clawroline's figure description talks about how the Beast Pack idolizes her for her grace and speed, finishing with "She has lots of fans!" Almost as if the devs knew exactly how she would be received...
  • According to a developer interview, a legitimate problem they had during development of the new 3D space was due to Kirby's almost purely spherical design making it hard to see which direction he's facing if facing away from the camera.
  • Each music track in the game is given a title, which can be seen at the Waddle Live! Corner Stage (this game's version of the Sound Test/Jukebox). The title for the Waddle Dee Cinema theme is "Please Don't Inhale the Cinema Patrons", sounding less like a description of the theme and more like a friendly warning for Kirby.
    • The band name for this Waddle Dee Band? The Deedly Dees.
    • There’s also the amusing idea that, despite being made of only a piano, guitar, bass and drums, the Deedly Dees can somehow reproduce not only the sounds of full orchestras but a full on lyrical song written in another language!
    • There's something darkly humorous about "Hunted by the Beast", the battle theme for Fecto Forgo, being track number 69.
  • The Waddle Dee Cinema is the very first building completed in Waddle Dee Town. Why? Because “entertainment is important!”.
  • If you rest in Kirby's house while in Co-Op mode, Kirby will sometimes kick Bandana Waddle Dee out of the bed in his sleep. It ends up being hilariously mean-spirited, along with the usual Sleep Cute.
    • Similarly, in single-player mode, Kirby will sometimes roll out of bed and fall onto the floor, leaving only Elfilin sleeping there.
    • Elfilin also sleeps at the foot of the bed like a cat.
  • According to Tropic Woods' Gotcha description, in addition to the exploding coconuts that he attacks you with, he also has normal, non-explosive coconuts which are supposedly delicious.
"Few have ever tasted them... but many have tried."
    • The description of the Phantom Tropic Woods figure also wonders what the illusory coconuts taste like, which makes wanting to try them a Running Gag.
  • Speaking of Gotcha, the fact that the way you get character lore in this game is through gachapon. And yes, it is entirely feasible to get duplicates. The idea of Kirby blowing all of his hard-earned cash on gambling for toys is hilariously fitting.
  • While Flash Fishing, failing a Quick Time Event by pressing the wrong button after the prompt has Kirby reel out a piece of trash that lands on his head while he gives a confused expression. Failing to push the button altogether has Kirby get pulled into the pond, only to reappear back on his seat like nothing had happened.
  • Failing the Waddle Dee Café: Help Wanted minigame results in the Waddle Dees angrily squeaking before storming off. However, storming off as a Waddling Head is too cute to take seriously.
  • If you talk to Elfilin in Waddle Dee Town, he asks how Kirby knows the Waddle Dees. We don't see Kirby's response but Elfilin's reply, "I bet that keeps things interesting." implies Kirby told him about how he used to beat them all up on a regular basis.
