The Disney film

    Princess Anna
  • As a child, when Anna wakes up in the middle of the night and begs Elsa to play with her. Just the way she dramatically rolls around in mock angst when Elsa tells her to go back to sleep and protests, "I just can't! The sky's awake, so I'm awake, so we have to play!" is adorable and funny.
  • During "Do You Want to Build a Snowman?" when young Anna is so bored that she says she started talking to the paintings.
Princess Anna: Hang in there, Joan.
    • The fact that they actually reference Joan of Arc, who was burned at the stake, in a film about coldness and snow is kinda funny in a darkly ironic way. Added irony/pun because she told a picture to hang in there.
    • And in another moment, when she sings about watching the hours tick by, she starts making tick tock noises with her tongue. While her eyes are following the clock's pendulum, almost like she's getting hypnotized.
  • During the coronation day prep...Princess Anna, who is Not a Morning Person.
    • To elaborate: at the end of the lengthy tracking shot through Arendelle (during which we see Kristoff share a carrot with Sven; and the Duke of Weselton boasts of seeking to exploit Arendelle's riches, then asks his bodyguards "Did I say that out loud?"), two foreign noblemen are seen walking towards the castle:
Irish Dignitary: Oh, me sore eyes can't wait to see the queen and the princess! I bet they're absolutely lovely.
Spanish Dignitary: I bet they are beautiful!
[Cuts to a snoring Anna, fast asleep, with fantastically bad bedhead, drooling, and with a lock of hair in her mouth.]
      Kai: [knocking] Princess Anna?
Princess Anna: [snorts] Huh?! [sits up]
      Kai: Princess Anna?
      Princess Anna: Yeah...?
Kai: Sorry to wake you, but-
Princess Anna: No, no, no, no! You didn't! [yawns] I've been up for hours! [She promptly dozes off, then snaps herself awake] Who is it?!
Kai: ...It's still me, ma'am. The gates will open soon. Time to get ready.
Princess Anna: [rubs sleep out of her eyes] Of course! [spits hair out of her mouth] Ahem.....Ready for what?
      Kai: Your sister's coronation, ma'am.
      Princess Anna: My sister's... corneration...
[she sees her coronation ballgown; her eyes bolt wide open]
Princess Anna: [gasps] It's coronation day! [she jumps out of bed]
    • Even funnier, when Anna is sitting up, she sounds more annoyed than tired.
  • Anna is.... pretty damn funny and cute when she's acting awkward.
    • In the middle of "For the First Time In Forever", while she's singing about how excited she is for the gates to open: "Don't know if I'm elated or gassy, but I'm somewhere in that zone!"
    • Anna going back to the room of paintings and imitating the positions of all the women in them. While singing about her being "the picture of sophisticated grace", to boot. She even drapes herself up in a curtain at one point, saying "Tonight imagine me gowned and all, fetchingly draped against the wall!" And whacks herself in the face with a cord while doing so. Even better, it looks like she's trying to imitate Elsa by doing that. If you listen carefully, she's also doing a brief imitation of Elsa's dark-toned vocal style!
    • Right after talking about sophisticated grace, and with a mouth full of chocolates: "I wanna stuff some chockwit im my fashe!"
    • Anna being impressed at the sheer number of salad plates.
  • Anna ends up on top of Hans in a precariously balanced rowboat.
    Prince Hans: Oh, boy! Uh...
Princess Anna: This is awkward. Not you're awkward, but just because we're...I'm awkward— you're gorgeous. Wait, what?
Prince Hans: I'd like to formally apologize for hitting the Princess of Arendelle with my horse... and for every moment after.
Princess Anna: No. No, no. It's fine. I'm not that princess. I mean, if you'd hit my sister Elsa, it would be like... yeesh! 'Cause, you know... [she turns and pats Hans's horse] Hello. [to Hans] But, lucky you, it's...it's just me.
    Prince Hans: [chuckles] Just you?
    • Also the Call-Back to it at the end of the movie.
Kristoff: Like it? I love it! [he picks her up and twirls her] I could kiss you! I could. I mean, I'd like to. I - may I? We me? I mean, may we? Wait, what?
Anna: [kisses him on the cheek] We may.
  • When Elsa and Anna are being formally announced to all the bowing dignitaries, Anna walks in with a big smile and a little wave. And one of the ladies in the front waves back.
  • When Hans and Anna are talking during the party, there's a point where Anna gestures, and she accidentally slaps Hans in the face.
  • Anna trudges through knee deep snow and gripes about how she wishes Elsa had the ability to turn the country into a tropic oasis instead of a winter wasteland:
Princess Anna: Snow! It had to be snow! She couldn't have had tropical magic that covered the f-fjords in white sand and warm...[sees the smoke coming from the chimney of Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna]...fire! [Anna immediately slips and falls into the creek] Cold! Cold-cold-cold-cold-cold-cold! [She staggers the rest of the way to Oaken's front porch with her skirt frozen stiff]
  • Anna falls into a creek, and is muttering, "Cold-cold-cold-cold!" as her dress gets frozen stiff, and her staggering in that frozen dress the rest of the way to Wandering Oaken's Trading Post and Sauna. Her dress is so stiff she has to rotate her entire body 90 degrees just to navigate up the last step.
  • Anna interrupts Kristoff just as he's finishing his lullaby to Sven and uses her royal authority as the Crown Princess to insist he help her find Elsa. She's trying to channel Elsa and not doing a very good job at it.
Princess Anna: Nice duet. [Kristoff is startled]
Kristoff: Ah! Oh, it's just you. What do you want?
Princess Anna: I want you to take me up the North Mountain. [Kristoff sighs and falls back on a hay bale, putting his scarf over his eyes to use as a sleep mask]
Kristoff: I don't take people places.
Princess Anna: Let me rephrase that. [throws a sack at Kristoff] Take me up the North Mountain...please. [Kristoff finds Anna has purchased the rope and axe he was trying to buy earlier] Look, I know how to stop this winter. [Kristoff sighs in defeat]
Kristoff: We leave at dawn. And you forgot the carrots for Sven. [Anna throws another bag, this one containing the carrots, and it lands on his face]
Princess Anna: Oh, sorry! Sorry! I'm sorry! I didn't...[she clears her throat, and puts her arms on her hips] We leave now. Right now. [Anna leaves and leans back against the side of the barn, exhaling, while Kristoff and Sven share another carrot]
  • When Anna is telling Kristoff about Elsa's reaction to her engagement, Kristoff is in disbelief that Anna got engaged to a guy she just met and they have this exchange:
Kristoff: Didn't your parents ever warn you about strangers?
    [Beat]
Princess Anna: Yyyeeeeess, they did. [scoots away to her side of the seat as if suddenly self-aware that Kristoff is a stranger]
  • Anna tries to help Kristoff fight off the wolves that try to ambush the sled. They can't help but argue while fighting:
Princess Anna: What do we do?!
Kristoff: I got this! Just... don't fall off and don't get eaten.
Princess Anna: But I wanna help!
    Kristoff: No!
    Princess Anna: Why not?!
Kristoff: Because I don't trust your judgement!
    Princess Anna: Excuse me?!
Kristoff: [kicks away a wolf] Who marries a man she just met?!
Princess Anna: [brandishes Kristoff's lute] IT'S TRUE LOVE!!
Kristoff: Whoa! [Anna swings the lute like it's a baseball bat to club another wolf] Whoa! [Another wolf grabs Kristoff and yanks him off the sled by the arm]
Princess Anna: Christopher! [Kristoff is now being dragged behind the sled]
Kristoff: It's KRISTOFF! [Anna uses the lantern to light up a bedroll and tosses it at the two wolves trying to maul Kristoff]
Princess Anna: DUCK! [Kristoff pulls himself back onto the sled]
Kristoff: You almost set me on fire!
    Princess Anna: But I didn't!
  • Anna attempts to climb a cliff without any climbing skills:
    Kristoff: What are you doing?
Princess Anna: [climbs up a steep rock] I'm....going....to see...my sister!
Kristoff: You're gonna kill yourself. [Anna continues climbing] I wouldn't put my foot there...or there.
Princess Anna: [slips] You're distracting me!
Kristoff: Or there. How do you know Elsa even wants to see you?
Princess Anna: All right, I'm just blocking you out 'cause I've got to concentrate here. [Anna slips again]
Kristoff: You know, most people who disappear into the mountains want to be alone.
Princess Anna: Nobody wants to be alone! [slips grabbing another rock] Except maybe you.
Kristoff: I'm not alone! I have friends, remember?
Princess Anna: Ugh! You mean the "love experts"?
Kristoff: Yes. The love experts. [Anna finally finds a foothold for her left foot]
Princess Anna: Ugh! Please tell me I'm almost there! [The camera cuts to a wide shot to reveal that Anna has made it all of four feet off the ground] Does the air seem a bit thin to you up here?
    Kristoff: [chuckles] Hang on.
Olaf: [returns from behind a corner] Hey Sven? Not sure if this is gonna solve the problem, but I found a staircase that leads exactly where you want it to go.
Princess Anna: [laughs] Haha! Thank goodness! Catch! [Kristoff holds out his arms to catch Anna as she jumps] Thanks! That was like a...crazy trust exercise!
  • Before entering Elsa's ice castle, Anna suggests Kristoff and Olaf wait outside, saying, "The last time I introduced her to a guy, she froze everything." Taken out of context, it sounds like Anna is telling Kristoff that Elsa is an overprotective sibling who doesn't want anyone dating her sister.
    • Kristoff pouts like a child, "Oh, come on! It's a palace made of ice! Ice is my life!"
  • Anna explaining to Elsa upon realising that she doesn't realise she froze the kingdom over: "You kind of set off an eternal winter... everywhere."
  • While it happens at a very crucial moment, there's something hilarious about Hans and the servants' collective reactions when they see that the first thing Anna does upon returning is cry out desperately for Hans to kiss her. Especially how one of the servants just smiles and says "We'll leave you two alone..." Expecting intimate healing, were they?
  • At the end, when Hans expresses disbelief that Anna survived, citing her frozen heart, Anna coolly retorts that "The only frozen heart around here is yours!" and turns around with dignity... and then one second later turns back and punches him in the face so hard he tumbles off the ship they're currently standing on. Someone paused that scene at exactly the right time. Extra points for actually pulling him closer first, feisty pants.
    • The split second before her fist connects with Hans's face is pretty funny too: you can see in Hans' eyes he's thinking, "Not in the face!".
  • As Anna is excitedly dragging Kristoff along blindfolded, she runs him into a pole.
    Princess Anna: Sorry!
  • And then someone paused it at just the right time.

    Queen Elsa
While Elsa is usually serious, she does have her CMoFs sprinkled throughout her scenes:
  • As a child, the voice she uses to "speak" for a non-animated snowman, who is Olaf's predecessor, when she says, "Hi, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!".
  • Elsa ropes Anna into dancing with the Duke of Weselton. With that smile she gives to Anna, she's an even worse Troll than the trolls!
Queen Elsa: Ahem. Uh, thank you. Only, I don't dance.
    Duke of Weselton: Ah.
Queen Elsa: [smiles mischievously] But my sister does!
    Princess Anna: Oh. Wait, what?!
Duke of Weselton: [grabs Anna by the arm] Ohǃ Lucky you!
Princess Anna: Oh, I don't think—! [The Duke drags Anna away to the dance floor]
Duke of Weselton: If you swoon, let me know! I'll catch you!
    Queen Elsa: [snickers] ...Sorry!
  • The looks that Anna and Elsa exchange from across the room while Anna's dancing with the Duke. Especially Anna's end of it, since she's giving Elsa this cheeky little grin that pretty much says "I'm gonna kill you for this." And when Anna gets back, she's so out of breath that she sticks her tongue out for a moment to show just how out of breath she is! Of course Elsa just laughs, the stinker.
  • Doubles as a Tear Jerker due to the fact that it was just after Elsa refuses Anna's blessing, but her reaction to Hans asking to talk to her is priceless.
Hans: Your Majesty, if I may ease your-.
Elsa: No, you may not, and I think you should go.
  • The way she cuts Hans off, you have to wonder just what Hans was about to say to get Elsa to change her mind.
  • The fact that even Elsa can't resist laughing at the Duke of Weasel Town (Weselton)'s toupee coming off when he bows. If you listen carefully, Anna clasps her hands to her mouth, but Elsa snorts.
  • Though the scene itself is serious, there are some from "For the First Time in Forever (Reprise)":
Elsa: Just stay away, and you'll be safe from me...
    Anna: ...Actually, we're not.
Elsa: What do you mean, "you're not?"
Anna: I get the feeling you don't know...
Elsa: What do I not know?
Anna: Arendelle's in deep, deep, deep, deep...snow.
    • Look closely and you'll notice that Elsa rolls her eyes right before she says, "What do I not know?" as if she's thinking, "Oh, what now is there that I need to be aware of?"
    • The whole exchange, although heartbreaking in some ways, actually comes across as quite amusing as every time Elsa starts telling her to leave, Anna starts up the happy duet again, seemingly not getting Elsa's sober mood. It comes across almost exactly like her badgering Elsa to play with her at the beginning of the movie, even though it's now a much more serious situation, with a major crisis Elsa is panicking over in a Dark Reprise while Anna attempts to keep the two of them optimistic about fixing things in a Triumphant Reprise, each sister singing the same melody with dissonant lyrics.
  • Kai announces at the end that Elsa has declared that Arendelle will "no longer do business of any sort with Weasel Town." Kai makes it clear that he is deliberately pronouncing it as "Weasel Town" (WESELTON! It's WESELTON!!)... just to piss off the Duke a little more after everything he's done!note

    Olaf
Most moments with Olaf tend to end up as these.
  • At the beginning, Olaf is bored with all the snow being white and wants to dye some of it. While thinking about popular colours for it, he considers yellow, but then he remembers that Yellow Snow is associated with pee and decides against it.
  • Kristoff's reaction when he and Anna first meet Olaf.
Kristoff: [he's just caught Olaf's head, and replies in deadpan] You're creepy. *toss*
Anna: I don't want him! *toss back*
  • Just the fact that the first thing Anna does upon seeing him is to scream and kick his head off. After she and Kristoff play a few rounds of an impromptu game of Hot Potato with the head, it ends with Anna tossing his head back onto his body, and him standing back up with his head on upside down. The camera then cuts to Olaf's point of view, and he asks why Anna and Kristoff are dangling off the earth like bats.
  • Shouting, "Whoa, headrush!", after his head falls off.
  • (Anna gives him a carrot nose, but accidentally pushes it too far into his head and only the tip shows.) "So cute, it's like a little baby unicorn!" (Anna adjusts it so that the widest part of the carrot is now the bridge of his nose)'' Oh, I love it even more."
  • When Anna, Kristoff and Sven meet Olaf for the first time.
Olaf: And who's the funky-looking donkey over there? [points in the direction of Kristoff and Sven]
    Anna: That's Sven.
Olaf: Uh-huh, and who's the reindeer?
    Anna: ...Sven...?
Olaf: Oh, OK, makes things easier for me.
  • The entirety of "In Summer", Olaf's song about wanting to experience the summers he has always heard about. Done in the style of a Busby-Berkeley Rankin-Bass TV special dance number, with cartoon-ish seagulls as backup dancers. We see Olaf in shades, in a hot tub, playing on the beach, dancing around sand people, and relaxing on a picnic blanket! And Olaf is completely unaware he'll melt in this weather, yet he's so happy and enthusiastic about how much fun he thinks he'll have! When he gets to the line "Winter's a good time to stay home and cuddle, but put me in summer and I'll be a—", he skirts around the mention of the word "puddle" as he approaches one, and instead jumps over it and belts out "HAPPY SNOWMAN!"
    • Throughout the song, there are lines like "And I'll do whatever snow does... in SUMMEERRRRR!", which only hammer in the Dramatic Irony.
    • The line "My snow up against the burning sand!"
    • Not merely the sheer Black Comedy of having a snowman dancing around on a sunny day...but literally every single thing Olaf does during the song is something that is only going to make him melt faster.
    • At Olaf's line "The sky will be blue / And you guys will be there, too!" Anna and Kristoff are seen having a picnic lunch, holding ridiculously large sandwiches and still wearing their winter clothing. Both of them look incredibly confused as to what exactly they are even doing here. Sven, however, pays no mind and just digs into a cherry pie.
    • Anna and Kristoff's reactions before Olaf belts out the last high note.
      Kristoff: I'm gonna tell him.
      Princess Anna: Don't you dare!
    • The horrified look on Kristoff's face as Anna walks away with Olaf:
      Kristoff: Somebody's gotta tell him.
  • (after accidentally walking straight into an icicle) "Oh, look at that. I've been impaled."
  • Anna has been trying to climb the cliff to get to Elsa's ice castle when Olaf comes back and says, "Not sure if this solves the problem, but I found a staircase that leads exactly where you want to go."
  • When Anna hesitates before knocking on Elsa's door: "Knock. Just knock. Why isn't she knocking? Do you think she knows how to knock?"
  • After Olaf and Kristoff start counting while waiting for Anna to emerge from Elsa's ice palace, Olaf takes Anna's "give us a minute" request literally.
    Olaf: [off-screen] Fifty-eight, fifty-nine, sixty!
Queen Elsa: Wait. What is that? [Olaf enters and runs across the entry foyer to stand next to Anna]
Olaf: Hi! I'm Olaf, and I like warm hugs!
    Queen Elsa: [surprised] Olaf?
Olaf: You built me. Remember that?
    Queen Elsa: And you're alive?
    Olaf: Yeah, um......I think so?
  • When Olaf's body parts are separated and his lower part rolls towards Anna and Kristoff...
Olaf: WATCH OUT FOR MA BUTT! [WHAM!]
  • When Olaf offers to distract "Marshmallow" (the nickname he gives to the menacing snowman that Elsa builds to chase the others away), his torso and legs flee without his head. His head then falls, face-first, onto the snow.
Olaf: [muffled] This just got a whole lot harder!
  • While Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven are fleeing from Marshmallow, Olaf emerges from the trees looking like a complete mess since his body fled without his head.
Olaf: Man, am I out of shape! [he stops to take a breather and get himself reassembled properly] There we go. Hey, Anna! Sven! Where'd you guys go?ǃ We totally lost Marshmallow back there! [As if on cue, Marshmallow roars as he emerges from the trees and comes up behind Olaf] Hey! We were just talking about you! All good things, all good things... [Marshmallow roars and takes a step forward] NO! [Marshmallow stomps forward and Olaf jumps onto his leg to stop him] This is not making much of a difference, is it?!
  • This line when they land after Marshmallow drops them off the cliff:
Olaf: I can't feel my legs! I CAN'T FEEL MY LEGS! [He's actually wiggling Kristoff's boots]
Kristoff: [Bursts out of the big pile of snow beneath Olaf] Those are my legs!
Olaf: [sees his lower body runs by] Ooh, do me a favor and grab my butt! [Kristoff grabs Olaf's lower body and puts the rest of him on top] Ah, that feels better.
  • When he's cooing to Sven after the gang falls down a cliff to escape Marshmallow, Kristoff separates them with an extremely creeped out look.
Kristoff: Don't talk to him like that.
  • "I don't have a skull. Or bones." It's the delivery that makes it. Even better is the fact that Anna and Kristoff completely ignore this comment. The implication being that they've gotten used by now to Olaf delivering strange non-sequiturs.
  • When Kristoff sees Anna's hair turning white.
    Anna: Does it look bad?
    Kristoff: [beat] No.
    Olaf: You hesitated.
    Kristoff: No, I...I didn't.
    • Coupled with Olaf lifting up his head just so he can be in the frame when he says his line.
  • Olaf's reaction to Kristoff's "family" of trolls, who at first appear to be moss covered rocks. He thinks Kristoff is insane and tells Anna to make a break for it, repeatedly, and gets more and more agitated when Anna is completely and utterly motionless.
    • Their faces during that scene.
    • When the trolls shout, "Kristoff's home!" and Olaf responds, "Kristoff's home! Wait, 'Kristoff'?", because he's finally realized that he's been calling Kristoff the wrong name all this time.
  • "Let's go kiss Hans! Who is this Hans?" The second line is delivered somewhat dramatic and slow, as Olaf is vanishing into the distance, combining with the fact that he's staring at the camera to make you think he's asking the audience. Cuts immediately to this Hans leading a raid on Elsa's ice castle.
  • The gang is sledding back into Arendelle and Kristoff tells Olaf not to expose himself to others. Olaf says he won't, but then he slides behind a house and this happens:
    Olaf: Hello!
    Woman: (screams) IT'S ALIVE!!!
  • Olaf's pep talk after Hans betrays Anna:
    • "Love is putting someone else's needs before yours! Like Kristoff bringing you all the way back to Hans and then leaving forever!"
    • Then when he sees Kristoff coming back, he says, "I guess I was wrong. I guess Kristoff doesn't love you enough to leave you behind."
    • And he falls off the window. And, while using an icicle as a telescope to watch Kristoff: "There's your act of love right there! Riding across the fjords like a valiant, pungent reindeer king!"
    • When Olaf starts to melt by the fireplace.
"Some people are worth melting for. [holds drooping snow up] Just maybe not right this second."
    • The way Olaf pushes his carrot nose up the same way someone might push up their glasses when he starts to melt and says "You really don't know anything about love, do you?" Much like his under-reaction to being impaled, it's subtle yet humorous.
  • When Elsa reverses the winter and Olaf starts melting:
Olaf: Hands down, this is the best day of my life...[his twig arm falls off. Hands down, indeed]...and quite possibly the last.
Queen Elsa: Oh, Olaf! Hang on, little guy. [uses her magic to recreate Olaf and gives him a personal storm cloud]
Olaf: OH, OH, OH! [gasps] My own personal FLURRY! [giggles]

    Kristoff and Sven
  • During "Frozen Heart", Kristoff and Sven as children try to emulate the adult ice harvesters… with a single block of ice smaller than a cubic foot, the sort of sled children slide down hills on, and a much slower pace.
    • When the guys sing, "Watch your step! Let it go!", little Kristoff accidentally lets the block of ice go.
  • "Reindeers are Better Than People"- it's just Kristoff being his goofy self in private. Especially when he does Sven's "part". Basically, he sings a song about how all humans except him are obnoxious, and reindeer are better, then pretends Sven is agreeing with him. Kristoff then adds that at least humans smell better, then sings in his Sven voice, "That's once again true for all except you".
  • Kristoff chides Anna for putting her legs on top of his sleigh's "dashboard" and then uses his spit to clean off her foot marks, and some of it gets in her face!
    • Then, he asks if she was raised in a barn, to which she replies, "No; I was raised in a castle."
  • His shock when Anna tells him about her being engaged to Hans.
Kristoff: Hang on! You mean to tell me you got engaged to someone you just met that DAY?!
    Princess Anna: Yes. Pay attention!
  • Having heard about Anna's whirlwind engagement to Hans, Kristoff seems to share Elsa's sentiments about the relationship. So he decides to quiz Anna on how well she knows him:
Kristoff: Didn't your parents ever warn you about strangers?
Princess Anna: .....Yyyyyyyyyessss, they did. [She scoots a little ways to her edge of the seat] But Hans is not a stranger.
Kristoff: Oh, yeah? What's his last name?
    Princess Anna: [scoffs] Of-The-Southern-Isles!
    Kristoff: Favorite food?
    Princess Anna: Sandwiches.
    Kristoff: Best friend's name?
    Princess Anna: Probably John.
    Kristoff: Eye color?
    Princess Anna: Dreamy.
    Kristoff: Foot size?
Princess Anna: Foot size doesn't matter!
Kristoff: Have you had a meal with him yet? What if you hate the way he eats? What if you hate the way he picks his nose?
Princess Anna: [disgusted] Picks his nose?!
    Kristoff: And eats it.
Princess Anna: [annoyed] Excuse me sir, he is a prince!
Kristoff: [beat] All men do it.note
Princess Anna: Ew! [scoffs] Look, it doesn't matter; it's true love!
Kristoff: Doesn't sound like true love.
Princess Anna: Are you some sort of love expert?
Kristoff: No, but... I have friends who are.
Princess Anna: You have friends who are love experts? I'm not buying it.
  • Kristoff's sleigh is destroyed when he and Anna must scale a chasm to escape a pack of hungry wolves:
Kristoff: [lip wobbling] No! But I just paid it off!
    • And then it bursts into flames, in a snow drift.
    • At the end of the movie, Elsa gets Kristoff a much needed replacement sled for the one he just lost. Anna delivers her dialogue like she's a car salesman:
Anna: I owe you a sled.
      Kristoff: [surprised] Are you serious?
Princess Anna: YES! And it's the latest model.
Kristoff: No, I can't accept this.
Princess Anna: You have to. No returns, no exchanges; Queen's orders. She's named you the official Arendelle Ice Master and Deliverer.
Kristoff: What? That's not a thing!
Princess Anna: Oh, sure it is. And it even has a cup holder. Do you like it?
  • Whenever Kristoff does his goofy "Sven voice", for example, after he and Anna escape the wolves:
Princess Anna: I'll replace your sled, and—and everything in it. And I understand if you don't want to help me anymore.
[Anna glances one time and slowly walks around while mumbling, while Sven nudges Kristoff awake]
Kristoff: Ugh, of course I don't want to help her anymore. In fact, this whole thing has ruined me for helping anyone ever again!
Princess Anna: Is it this way or....
Kristoff: [as Sven] She'll die on her own!
Kristoff: [as himself] I can live with that.
Kristoff: [as Sven] But you won't get your new sled if she's dead!
Kristoff: [as himself] Sometimes I really don't like you. [to Anna] Hold up! We're coming!
Princess Anna: You are?! I mean, sure! I'll let you tag along!
  • Sven having a grand old time making the ice-drop-covered willow trees' dangling vines tinkle and gleam, by whipping them around with his antlers.
  • Plus the little Stealth Pun of a reindeer going crazy over something that sounds like jingle bells.
  • Blink-and-you'll-miss-it, but when Olaf first shows up, Anna and Kristoff can't see him but they can hear him. They both look at Sven in confusion as if for a moment they think he's the one talking. Sven just grins at them happily with his antlers covered in jingly weeping willow vines. Their expressions of mutual confusion are priceless.
  • Kristoff's reaction during the introduction with Olaf. The little smirk when he thinks Olaf doesn't recognize a reindeer is amusing on its own, but it's his silent "WTF" reaction to realizing that he is the "funny looking donkey" that really sells the scene.
  • Kristoff examines Olaf's twig hand while the latter is talking to Anna, and it slaps him.
  • Kristoff seeing Elsa's ice palace.
Kristoff: Now that's ice. I might cry.
Princess Anna: Go ahead. I won't judge.
    • Anna insists that she needs to go inside to talk to Elsa alone. Kristoff pouts like a small child at being forced to wait outside.
Princess Anna: Ha! It opened! That's a first. [to Kristoff and Olaf] Oh, you should probably wait out here.
      Kristoff: What?ǃ
Princess Anna: The last time I introduced her to a guy, she froze everything...
Kristoff: But—but— Oh, come on! It's a palace made of ice! Ice is my life!
    • As mentioned, he starts reluctantly counting along with Olaf after he's told to wait as well.
    • The fact that they're both counting to 60 after Anna told them to give her a minute first.
  • When Anna and Kristoff are tossed out of Elsa's castle by Marshmallow, Sven is seen with his tongue stuck to the ice staircase. And wagging his tail like a big, dumb, friendly, happy dog. And before this, Kristoff and Anna are stiff with fear at Marshmallow's looming size, while Olaf has a goofy smile that looks like he's saying, “Wow, Elsa's made me a new big best friend! Hello big guy…!”
  • When Anna takes the jump before Kristoff finishes counting down, she yanks him off the cliff with her so fast that a perfect snow outline of him is seen for about a second before falling.
    Kristoff: ... that happened.
    • Before that scene you see Anna saying she is raring to go as Kristoff counts down.
      Anna: I was BORN ready!
      Kristoff: [completely deadpan] Calm down.
    • Then there's the fact that she seems to take the tree that Marshmallow launches at them as the cue to jump while screaming, "TREE!"...
  • Near the end, Sven is encouraging Kristoff to go back and tell Anna he loves her and Kristoff protests that Hans is Anna's true love. Sven just looks at him like "Really?"
  • The best part is that every time Kristoff has to "argue" with him, Sven always "wins". Which is kind of endearing, since Sven also represents Kristoff's conscience, which means that he's doing what he believes is right.
  • When Elsa ends the eternal winter and the snow begins to rise, Sven tries to catch a rising snowflake with his tongue.
  • The way Sven looks and acts when Anna gives Kristoff his new sleigh.

    The trolls
  • When Bulda rolls up to Anna, "Bright eyes, working nose, strong teeth!" Almost like she's inspecting a horse. Remember we've already had a couple of jokes about Kristoff's unshakable smell (Word of God is that he smells of reindeer) - even the Trolls have noticed it. So this means the Trolls are checking to just be sure that Anna actually has a sense of smell.
  • "Fixer Upper". All of it. Kristoff doesn't have two embarrassing parents. He has an embarrassing tribe of trolls, whose goal is to make him look bad while simultaneously and blatantly shipping him with Anna.
    • Just before the song, several trolls demonstrate their accomplishments:
      Young Troll 1: I grew a mushroom!
Young Troll 2: I got my fire crystal!
Gruff Troll: I passed a kidney stone. [produces a kidney stone about the size of one of his fingers]
    • Immediately before the shot at his unmanly blondness:
Troll Kid: Or that he only likes to tinkle in the woods?
Anna: I did not need to know that.
    • The trolls' queries that all embarrass Kristoff beyond belief as they ask Anna what is turning her off from dating him, like his smell or "unmanly blondness", until finally Kristoff breaks:
Kristoff: ENOUGH!! She is engaged to someone else! Okay?!?!!
    • When the trolls sing that Kristoff has "a couple of bugs", Kristoff protests, "No I don't!", while Sven seems to have taken the remark literally and is scratching himself.
    • The trolls don't care. They just want to wed him to Anna as fast as possible.
Troll Kid: I don't see no ring!
    • If you look closely, that particular kid seems to have an actual, literal troll face after saying that. Which adds an extra layer of comedy; she likely said that deliberately to troll Kristoff.
    • And then there's the fact that even the trolls think Kristoff's relationship with Sven is "outside of nature's laws." Heh.
    • It's even more hilarious if you look into the brilliance of it; there are many of these sort of "you belong with each other" numbers in the Disney Princess canon, quite a few of them even preceding some pretty potent Mood Whiplash. This might be the first time the title characters involved are self-aware of this, and makes the whole number appear like some kind of Take That! at the whole idea; you can see the panic in Kristoff particularly as he is desperately trying to get the whole situation under control claiming, yes, he may have indeed brought a girl home, but she's engaged and more importantly she's injured. Pretty blunt Black Comedy there laced throughout that jaunty number.
    • There's a truly fantastic Stealth Pun in this last line: the fact that a rock troll passed a kidney stone. Ooh, here's another one! Of all the prizes, he got a rock.
  • A lot of Kristoff's expressions during that song. He's so embarrassed he can't even muster up a word to protest. It showcases his personality and informs us that Kristoff is genuinely adorkable (as opposed to Hans' faux-adorkableness).

    Prince Hans
As evil as he turns out to be, you can't deny Hans the right to a few funny moments of his own.
  • Hans's entire intro, especially the part where he falls into the water when his horse waves at Anna.
    Hans: ...Oh, no. Ah! *splash*
    • Becomes a Brick Joke when he takes a dunk in the fjord after being sucker punched by Anna. The dignitaries are enjoying the scene from one of the castle's balconies. And his confused facial reaction to Anna's statement about being a "frozen-hearted" person before the sucker punch.
    • It's also pretty funny that his first act on arrival in Arendelle is to end up on top of her in a rowboat. Naturally, it would be embarrassing for Hans to be caught in a seriously compromising position with the Princess of Arendelle, and he's briefly under the impression this could be taken very badly. Fortunately for him, Anna sees the funny side.
  • Later, during the coronation, there's a brief shot, just before the bishop places the tiara on Elsa's head, in which Hans makes a small wave to Anna while apparently doing his best to ignore the fact that the man seated on his left has fallen asleep and is using his shoulder as a pillow.
  • Even when knowing that Hans's lines in the song are an outright lie, there are still some parts of "Love is an Open Door" that come off as outright funny, like:
    Hans: I mean it's crazy
    Anna: What?
    Hans: We finish each other's-
    Anna: Sandwiches!
Hans: [confused] That's what I was gonna say!
    • What makes it funnier is that it's an unintentional Arrested Development joke that only happened because Kristen-Anderson Lopez happened to be eating a sandwich when she wrote this lyric, and didn't know it was an AD joke until her husband Robert Lopez asked her about it.
    • His facial reaction to her saying "Sandwiches!" is priceless. If you watch his face, there's a split-second of confusion and his thoughts about her seem to say, "Really? Is it just me, or is she that crazy?".
  • When watched with the knowledge that Hans is the bad guy and his nice guy thing is just an act he's putting on for Anna, some of his lines and expressions become even funnier. For example his face after she says she's "completely ordinary", only to back-pedal and say that she's "ordinary" in the most inoffensive way possible.
    • “are u fuckin sure you’re ‘completely ordinary’ sandwich princess”
  • A real life example lies in Hans' voice actor's singing audition.

    ...and Everyone Else
  • As the camera tracks through Arendelle, we pass by a boy who's annoyed that he has been forced to dress up for Elsa's coronation:
Son: Why do I have to wear this?
Mother: Because the queen has come of age! It's coronation day!
    Son: That's not my fault!
  • As the Duke of Westleton arrives at Arendelle:
  • "Your majesty? The Duke of Weaseltown." "WESTLETON! Duke of Weselton, your majesty."
  • Hans's horse being charmed by Anna.
  • The Duke of Weasel Town (WESELTON!)'s hilariously bad dancing with Anna. He struts around her like a peacock while his very loose toupee flops up and down.
The Duke: Like a chicken with the face of a monkey, I fly!
  • Watch closely. If you are a fan of Arrested Development, you'll notice that one of the Duke's dance moves is Lindsay Funke's "chicken dance". By the time he twirls Anna around (and badly at that), there's at least seven people staring at him.
  • This bit from after Elsa runs away.
The Duke of Weselton: She almost killed me!
Prince Hans: [deadpan] You slipped on ice.
The Duke of Weselton: HER ice!
  • The entire Wandering Oaken's Trading Post & Sauna scene. Sure, it only exists so we can introduce Kristoff properly, but it's a full three minutes of laughs at minimum.
    • Anna knocks snow off the sign over the front porch:
Princess Anna: "Wandering Oaken's Trading Post". [snow comes off the little sign below it, revealing the second establishment] Ooh! "And Sauna!"
    • Anna staggers in, still shivering from getting her legs soaked in the creek, and the wind blows the door shut behind her.
      Oaken: Hoo-hoo!
Princess Anna: Hmmm? [She takes notice of Oaken, sitting behind the counter]
Oaken: Big summer blowout! Half off swimming suits, clogs, and a sun balm of my own invention, ja?
Princess Anna: [gives him a look of, "Do I look like I need any of those at this moment?"] ....Oh, great. For now, um, how about boots? Winter boots? A-And dresses?
Oaken: That vould be in our winter department. [Anna glances at the "winter department", where there's almost nothing left except for one cloak, one pair of boots, one rope, and one climbing axe]
Princess Anna: Oh... [She picks out the boots and dress] Um, I was just wondering, has another young woman—the Queen perhaps, I don't know—passed through here?
Oaken: Only one crazy enough to be out in this storm is you, dear.
[The door opens and Kristoff staggers in, completely covered in snow from head to toe. Anna stares at him like "What happened to you?"]
Oaken: ...You and this fellow? Hoo-hoo! [displays his sunbalm] Big summer blowout!
[Kristoff steps up to Anna, who begins whistling nervously, not realizing she's standing in front of the carrots he's purchasing for Sven]
      Kristoff: Carrots.
Princess Anna: Huh? [Kristoff leans in, pretty much getting in Anna's face. Anna turns her head away.]
Kristoff: Behind you! [Anna realizes Kristoff is gesturing to some carrots on a shelf below the counter]
Princess Anna: [smiles nervously] Oh! Right! Excuse me. [She steps to the side. Kristoff grabs a bundle of carrots and places them on the counter]
Oaken: Oh, a real howler in July, yes? [Kristoff goes to the empty winter department and grabs the rope and climbing axe] Vherever could it be coming from?
      Kristoff: The North Mountain.
Princess Anna: [thinking] The North Mountain....
[Kristoff sets his axe and rope on the counter]
      Oaken: That'll be 40.
      Kristoff: [annoyed] 40?! No, ten!
Oaken: Oh dear that's no good. See, zis is from our vinter stock, vhere the supply and demand have a big problem?
Kristoff: You wanna talk about a "supply and demand problem"? I sell ice for a living! [points out the window at his sled, loaded with ice blocks]
Princess Anna: Ooh, that's a rough business to be in right now! I mean, that is really...[She notices that Kristoff is giving her a Death Glare; Anna clears her throat] Ahem, that's unfortunate.
Oaken: Still 40. But I will throw in a visit to Oaken Sauna. [turns to the sauna, which is occupied by a small family] Hoo hoo! Hi family!
Sauna family: Hoo hoo! [Anna waves at the sauna family]
Kristoff: Ten's all I've got! Help me out!
Oaken: Okay. [moves the carrots in front of everything else] That will get you this and no more.
Princess Anna: [to Kristoff] OK, just tell me one thing: What was happening on the North Mountain? Did it seem... magical?
Kristoff: [removes his scarf, exasperated] YES! Now back up... while I deal with this crook here! [Oaken promptly stands up, very much offended. Kristoff gulps in fear]
Oaken: Vhat did you call me?
[Cuts to Oaken walking out the front door , holding Kristoff by his belt]
Kristoff: Okay! Okay! I'm- [knocks his head on the sign as he passes by] Ow! [Oaken throws him about ten feet through the air] WHOOOOA!!! [Kristoff lands face first in the snow]
Oaken: Bye-bye! [Oaken goes back inside and slams the door shut. Sven bolts up to Kristoff, begging for carrots]
Kristoff: No, Sven, I didn't get your carrots. [Sven gives a groan that translates as something like "Awww, man!"] But I did find us a place to sleep. And it's free! [The camera pans to the stable immediately adjacent to the store that's covered by windblown snow. Meanwhile, Oaken returns to his desk to attend to Anna]
Oaken: [cheerfully] I'm sorry about this violence! I vill add a quart of lutefisk so we have good feelings. [He gives Anna a jar of pickled lutefisk] Just the outfit and the boots, ja?
Princess Anna: [staring at Kristoff's supplies] Uh....
    • Just hearing Oaken talking is funny enough with his accent. "HOO HOOOO! Big summer blowout!"
  • Prior to Hans handing out blankets to the residents, two men are seen arguing over the proper way to stack firewood (bark up or bark down). A clever reference to the Norwegian bark stacking debates.
    • Even funnier is the little boy walking past these men to help distribute wood to the inhabitants. Pay close attention to his reactions and facial expressions of "This is the sort of petty thing we're arguing about?"
  • When Anna tells the guys they can't come into Elsa's castle with her, she specifically tells them to give her a minute. Dejectedly, Olaf starts quietly counting. Made even funnier when Olaf sits down besides Kristoff, and Kristoff starts sadly counting with him from four. The joke pays off exactly one minute of film time later, in the middle of Anna's attempt to convince Elsa to return to Arendelle:
Queen Elsa: You belong down in Arendelle.
    Princess Anna: So do you!
Queen Elsa: No, Anna, I belong here, alone. Where I can be who I am... without hurting anybody.
Princess Anna: [grimaces] Actually, about that-
    Olaf: [off-camera]....58, 59, 60!
Queen Elsa: Wait. What is that?! [Olaf comes running across the entry room]
Olaf: Hi! I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs!
    Queen Elsa: Olaf?
Olaf: You built me. Remember that?
    Queen Elsa: And you're alive?
Olaf: Yeah, um, I think so?
[Elsa looks at her hands, surprised to learn that she could do such a thing as create life]
Princess Anna: [kneels down beside Olaf] He's just like the one we built as kids.
    Elsa: [amazed] Yeah.
    • It's even funnier when you notice how Elsa's initial reaction to seeing Olaf is mild confusion and disbelief, in comparison with Anna's initial response of kicking Olaf's head off.
  • Pretty much the whole first encounter with Marshmallow:
Anna: [begins forming a snowball] It is not nice TO THROW PEOPLE! [Kristoff grabs hold of her]
Kristoff: Whoa, whoa, whoa, feisty pants! Okay, relax. Just calm down! Calm down!
    Anna: Okay! Alright! I'm okay!
Kristoff: Just let the snowman be!
Anna: I'm calm. [Kristoff lets her go and turns]
Kristoff: Great. [Anna suddenly yells and tosses the snowball at Marshmallow. He flies into a furious rage and begins to chase them] Oh, come on! See?! Now you made him mad!
    • If you're paying attention, you'll see that Marshmallow watches the snowball hit him with a deadpan look on his face, only flying into said rage a second after the tiny impact.
    • Just before the "watch out for my butt" line mentioned in Olaf's section, Marshmallow throws Olaf's head, prompting him to say, "Heads up!".
    • If you look closely when Elsa first creates Marshmallow, you'll see that Olaf has a big, happy smile on his face while Anna and Kristoff react with appropriate "Let's get out of here before Elsa sets him out on us" looks.
  • If you look very carefully, one of the Duke's guards (the beardless one to be precise) appears to be momentarily attracted to Elsa after he sees her abilities.
  • It's a blink-and-you-miss-it moment, but the credits have someone being recognized for caffeination.
  • In the credits, you'd most commonly expect a little section at the end stating that the story is completely fictional and that any resemblance to certain things in real life are entirely coincidental. In Frozen, you get this instead:
"The views and opinions expressed by Kristoff in the film that all men eat their own boogers are solely his own and do not necessarily reflect the views or opinions of The Walt Disney Company or the filmmakers. Neither The Walt Disney Company nor the filmmakers make any representation of the accuracy of any such views and opinions."
  • The Stinger. Marshmallow finds Elsa's discarded tiara and puts it on his head.

    Meta
  • Kristoff asks Anna for Hans's last name and is clearly less than impressed with her response of "of the Southern Isles." Yet in two films, viewers have never been given last names for any of the characters, though Hans was given the last name of "Westergard" in supplementary material.
    • In fact, Royalty often don't have surnames, so Anna's surname could literally be "Of Arendelle"! Hans doesn't introduce himself with his surname, after all, implying it's not often used...
