    Game

General

  • Arval in general. They're significantly snarkier than Sothis, and also a hell of a lot more smug too, to hysterical effect.
  • In a game that made Count Bergliez, Count Varley, Margrave Gautier, Holst, and many others Unseen No More, Baron Dominic, Annette's uncle, still uses a generic armored portrait. It's almost like they did that on purpose.
  • The game has its share of Secret Characters, being Byleth, Jeralt, Rhea, Sothis, and Arval. The last one? The Gatekeeper.
    • The Gatekeeper keeps his trusty helmet on regardless of class, which leads to some hilarious dissonance when he's a Dancer, War Master, or Dark Bishop.
    • Just the fact that his name still isn't given, despite the fact that he's playable now.
  • The Dancer class returns, and this time, the animations are the same for both male and female units, so now you can have the hysterical sight of big burly men like Holst, Raphael, Balthus, and Dedue twirling and traipsing around the battlefield like a pretty ballerina.
  • Throughout the game, Byleth is shown only as the Ashen Demon from the perspective of Shez and their allies, but after Shez gets close to beating them and Sothis briefly hijacks their body we shift to their perspective. Rather than seeing the cold mercenary from the rest of the game angry or frustrated about the sudden turn of events, Byleth is confused and mildly disconcerted, jumping in fright when Sothis starts talking in their head. After being possessed, hearing voices, and having their hair and eyes change color, they realize this probably isn't normal. In other words, it's the Byleth the player is used to from Three Houses.
Byleth: On second thought, I think there is something wrong.
  • On Azure Gleam and Golden Wildfire, if you successfully recruit Bernadetta, she has this to say when you first speak with her back at camp.
Bernadetta: HOW DID I END UP IN THE KINGDOM/ALLIANCE ARMY?!!
  • The class system from Three Houses can be used for all sorts of funny sights. For instance, you can use the basic Fighter class to equip gauntlets to small and/or dainty ladies like Bernadetta, Mercedes, Flayn or even Sothis to see them slaughtering hundreds of mooks with roundhouse kicks and Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs.
  • A relatively common side-mission in the game is an enemy unit raining attacks down on your army. Normally, this would begin with a short cutscene of an archer or mage-type unit beginning the barrage. However, there is one more type of siege unit: a War Master of all things, with the post-cutscene warning pointing out that he is chucking entire boulders at your army.
  • If Byleth was recruited, Shez will turn Solon into the sacrifice for Zahras at the end of Chapter 15. While this is otherwise one of the grimmest moments in the entire game, seeing Solon killed off in the same method he used to kill Kronya in Three Houses is still amusing.
  • In Chapter 16 of any route where Byleth and Jeralt are recruited, Shez has to tell the lords about Arval, calling them "the voice inside my head" and not explaining it any further. Edelgard and Claude have understandable but hilariously confused reactions to that admission while Dimitri takes it 100% seriously as if Shez had just told them they have a cold. In Dimitri's case, his reaction makes perfect sense, as he's also known to hear voices in his head calling for revenge.
    • Later in the chapter, Edelgard and Dimitri have some darkly humorous reactions to fighting phantoms of themselves created by Epimenides. Edelgard remarks she doesn't really trust anyone, including herself, so her doppelganger's words can't sway her. Dimitri meanwhile is genuinely grateful for the opportunity to fight and kill himself, seeing it as an otherwise impossible way to vent his self-hatred.
    • Shez's reaction to fighting their Phantom Double isn't without a laugh either. The copy states that it is actually rather excited to be able to fight their own self... To which the real Shez replies that they hate fighting them due to the fact that their doppelganger even THINKS the same way as they do.
    • After the fight, everyone's had a minute or two to comment on what just happened, and Dimitri says he wouldn't mind doing this again... And then he quickly clarifies that he means getting to talk, not fighting and getting sucked into a weird dimension.
  • If you pair Edelgard and Rhea/Seiros together in Free Play, one of Edelgard's "commendation for KO milestone" lines has her admit that she actually likes Seiros much better now that she's on her side.
  • The Sublime Creator Sword is fully wieldable by Sothis in New Game Plus. There's something darkly amusing about the fact that Sothis can stab people to death with her own ripped-out spinal cord.
    • Even if you don't actively equip it to her, if kept in her preferred class (Gremory), she still wields it in her Warrior Special! Seems having your spine ripped out and turned into a sword isn't as big a deal as everyone would think.
  • More fun with Sothis: she has no restriction on Class selection outside of gender. It's entirely possible to turn the diminutive goddess into something ridiculous like an armor unit, only she doesn't wear armor and her weapon and shield are as big as she is.
    Sothis: I am... quite short.
  • After recruiting Jeralt and Byleth, a Brigand named Jetz appears in the camp, though he says he doesn't have a twin brother. Poor Shez acts like they've seen a ghost, to his horror.

Prologue - All Routes

  • Right before the player gets to select their own chosen name for Byleth, the minor character Getz voices a line that is the closest the game will get to saying Byleth's Canon Name out loud, "It was... uh... By the goddess-"
    • Getz constantly gripes about Shez being forgetful in the opening dialogue... only to forget Byleth's name and gender. It's an excuse to let the player choose those things, but it's weirdly funny in context.
  • Shez expresses confusion the first time Arval calls them their "partner in destiny." Arval awkwardly reminds themselves to "take intimacy in smaller steps."
  • In the six months between the battle with Jeralt's Mercenaries and meeting the house leaders, Arval has had to save Shez's life no less than 22 times. Five of those instances was Shez getting hopelessly lost, three others involved them jumping off a cliff to, quote, "get tougher."
  • Sylvain's first meeting at camp with Shez changes depending on which gender you picked. With Male Shez, he and Ingrid simply thank him for saving Dimitri. With Female Shez, Sylvain is floored at how "stunning" Dimitri's savior is, much to Ingrid's annoyance.
  • Shez and Arval's first interaction with Alois:
    • In a bit of a But Thou Must!, Alois has to "subtly" threaten Shez to come along to Garreg Mach. Hilariously unfitting given his usual demeanor. Then Shez, Arval, and all three house leaders point out the obviousness of the threat.
    • Shez tries to tell Alois that his jokes are corny as hell, but Arval stops them, saying that "some truths are just too painful to bear". Instead, Shez just very awkwardly tells Alois that his armor is dashing, which Alois seems to take at face value.
  • When the Knights of Seiros lose the trail of Kostas' leftover bandits in Chapter 2, Jeritza suggests that they sniff them out instead.
    Jeritza: Lost sight of them?
Knight of Seiros: Ashamed to admit it, but yes. It's possible someone magicked the bandits away. But why go to that kind of trouble for a handful of highwayman scum?
Jeritza: So be it. We'll follow the blood-scent.
Knight of Seiros: Right, of course! We'll follow... Wait, what?
  • Kronya tells Shez's class that they can call her "the lady that's about to kill you... Or don't."
  • Upon rescuing Monica, after hearing one of Alois' puns too many, Jeritza just lets out a loud, long, annoyed groan.

Black Eagles/Scarlet Blaze

  • Bernadetta wasn't at camp when you meet the students because she stayed in out of fear they'd be attacked by bandits. She winds up being right, which is a bit of an embarrassment to the rest of them for not believing her, but Dorothea also reminds her she can't say "we were attacked" because she wasn't there.
  • After rescuing Monica in Chapter 2, Hubert tells everyone that she was in the previous year's Officers Academy class, making her a member of the "old guard". Monica, who is two years younger than Hubert, does not let this go unnoticed:
Monica: (annoyed) I'm not sure how I feel about you calling people "old".
  • In Chapter 3, once you get the chance to fight Lord Arundel, Hubert orders everyone to give no mercy to anyone who gets in Edelgard's way. Monica cheerfully replies that Hubert finally said something she agrees with.
  • After liberating the Imperial Palace in Chapter 3, Shez attempts to celebrate by offering a high-five to Edelgard, but she just gives them a confused look and leaves them hanging while they explain the gesture.
  • After liberating the palace, the other students who weren't involved react to the battle. Ferdinand is indignant that his father was arrested, Caspar is confused about whether or not his father was, but Bernadetta is downright hopeful her father was. Edelgard's response makes it clear she understands Bernadetta's issues with her father and would've liked to arrest him if she didn't have need of him.
  • Also near the end of Chapter 3, Counts Bergliez and Hevring get into some Snark-to-Snark Combat. When Count Hevring calls Count Bergliez a "swollen-headed juggernaut," Leopold takes "juggernaut" as a compliment. Waldemar just dryly mutters that he needs to work on his sarcasm detection.
  • More of a Hilarious in Hindsight: In Chapter 4, you can choose to have Edelgard command her army to burn the grounds of Garreg Mach as they invade, shocking Rhea and the Knights. Those who played the Crimson Flower route in Three Houses might laugh at how ironic Rhea's reaction is considering she burns the entire Kingdom capital to stop Edelgard's conquest (admittedly the situations are very different).
  • After the Imperial army captures Garreg Mach, Ferdinand tries to wax poetic about his time there, but Hubert doesn't buy it:
Ferdinand: Ah, Garreg Mach! You remain ever as resplendent as the day I left you!
Hubert: The place cannot be so dear to your heart that it requires inferior poetry for an introduction.
Ferdinand: Inferior?! I will have you know that line comes from one of my favorite operas!
  • The exact same phrase can be either a tearjerker or heartwarming, depending on the context. In the mission to save Hrym, it's possible to either Spare Hanneman, or fail, and have him die. Manuela's reaction is telling either way:
    • If Hanneman dies, Manuela describes his passing as "a gaping hole in my heart." She thinks that if he was still alive, he'd comment on how such sadness is unlike her, and she wishes she could respond with usual banter, "That's none of your concern, you doddering old geezer!"
    • If he lives, she's instead annoyed he'd thank her for saving his life, and remarks "That's none of your concern, you doddering old geezer!"
  • When Edelgard and Claude at last get a chance to face off in Chapter 7, the verbal sparring is decidedly more funny than epic, with Edelgard treating him as if she were a mother faced with an impatient child; in exasperation asking why Claude couldn't simply wait until her work is done before starting his own plans. Claude shoots back the same question.
  • When the Black Eagles are heading to Arianrhod, Caspar mentions that he doesn't get why the "impregnagable" fortress is called "the Silver Maiden." Dorothea (sarcastically) gives him a hint... and Caspar is still confused.
  • In Chapter 9, Count Hevring will be on the map, assisting with the fight. He comments on how Linhardt will actually put in some effort (for once) if it means saving Edelgard from assassins. Linhardt replies that of course he will... because if anything happened to Edelgard, it'd cause a bunch of headaches for everyone else.
  • During Chapter 10, if you recruited Constance, you can find her talking to Duke Gerth in the base camp. Except they're outside, so she's in her sunny mode. Duke Gerth just says they should probably try to continue the conversation later.
  • Just before the final battle begins, Monica threatens to personally choke Lord Arundel/Thales to death the moment she sees him...and tops it off by smiling and offering to let Edelgard watch if she wants. The only thing Edelgard can say in response is for Monica not to overdo it.
  • A huge Black Comedy moment occurs during the final mission if the player fails to save Count Varley from death. Bernadetta reacts with a simple "My father's been killed? Oh."note , while Hubert mutters about how they'll need a new bishop for the Southern Church with all the annoyance of having spilled his coffee, once again reinforcing how nobody actually likes the stupid bastard. Another amusing fact is that you don't actually get a Game Over if you let this happen, at worst just getting more reinforcements to kill, making it easier to get an S-Rank for your kill count.
    • In addition, Count Varley gets the character death screen that you would normally receive for losing one of your units, complete with the sad music. But instead of it feeling tragic or sad, it comes off as melodramatic as he dies as he lived: Chewing the Scenery and complaining he couldn't spend more money.
  • Hubert and Ferdinand's interactions are played more as Vitriolic Best Buds at times. In particular, Ferdinand takes the "Twin Jewels of the Empire" nickname for his cooperation with Hubert and runs with it. Whereas in Three Houses it was reserved for their paired ending, here it is used in their supports as well as their battle dialogues in the main game.
Edelgard: The Twin Jewels, is it? Well, I admit the two of you do shine together.
Ferdinand: I knew you would understand. Now please remind Hubert of that at every opportunity.
    • Even funnier, after the above exchange, Hubert is audibly annoyed and asks Ferdinand to dispense with the nicknames.
  • One that's both funny and slightly heartwarming: in the final chapter, Shez offers Edelgard another high five after their victory. At first, she scolds them for wanting a high five at a time like this, implying she sees it as Mood Whiplash. However, Edelgard then decides to indulge Shez and returns the high five just this once.
  • Observing Ferdinand during an expedition sometimes leads to this.
Ferdinand: Is there a bug on my face? How did it manage to slip past my defenses?!

Blue Lions/Azure Gleam

  • If you observe Dimitri during an expedition with him, he takes a jab at Shez's very purple hair, effectively voicing a good portion of the fanbase's thoughts towards their hair color, and even possibly the thoughts of the developers themselves.
Dimitri: Is the color of my hair truly so unusual to you? Perhaps you should turn that questioning gaze toward yourself.
  • Before the Kingdom fights Lonato, Arval tells Shez that they better not walk off a cliff in the fog due to their horrid sense of direction. Shez gripes at Arval for acting like their mom.
  • If you manage to recruit Jeralt and Female Byleth, while he has toned down his skirt-chasing greatly, Sylvain can't help but blurt out what a "stunning beauty" the Ashen Demon is, while trying to pass it off as a joke. Ingrid immediately tells him to shut up.
Ingrid: I thought you had outgrown such "jokes". Now do us all a favor and stay quiet.
  • If you have Yuri confront Count Varley in the Final Chapter's main battle, Yuri smiles and cheerfully(?) states his intention to pay Grégoire back for all he's done for him as a child (which was beating him half to death), all while Grégoire is quaking in his boots.
  • After the Alliance joins forces with the Kingdom, many of the Alliance soldiers around the camp complain the food in Faerghus is terrible. Raphael even says that he asked Claude to send food from the Alliance.
  • Sylvain gets comeuppance for his behavior in Three Houses, occasionally complaining about how now that he's a commander in the Kingdom army, he's had to deal with his own soldiers skirt-chasing instead of doing their jobs.
  • If the player recruits Dorothea in this route, it occasionally comes up that Dorothea's classical training in the Adrestian opera has not translated to any success when performing for the Kingdom. Dorothea can voice complaints that Kingdom music seems designed for both the singer and the audience drinking heavily beforehand.

Golden Deer/Golden Wildfire

  • The Prologue to Golden Wildfire features a longer-than-one-might-expect conversation started by Raphael regarding the possibility that the monastery's dining hall lady could be an ally of Solon. It concludes with a clearly exasperated Arval asking within Shez's mind if they could please stop talking about the dining hall lady now.
  • In Chapter 3, when Holst and Nader fight each other, Holst gets Nader's title wrong. Nader corrects him before complaining that Holst gets it wrong so often that he must be doing it on purpose, giving off the impression that they have already had this same conversation many times before.
    • Also in Chapter 3, if Claude fights Shahid, their exchange is hilarious knowing that Claude actually is Shahid's brother.
Shahid: I thought I recognized you...You look just like my horror of a little brother!
Claude: Then for your brother's sake and my own, it's time to put you in your place!
      • Later, Claude even mocks Shahid for taking so long to realize that they're brothers.
  • After Claude invites Shez to come with him to Leicester, he basically ignores them for two years while they struggle to find any work since the Alliance is so peaceful. When Shez gets fed up with this and asks Claude if they can move on to the Empire to find work, he finally makes them an offer.
  • At the start of Chapter 6, Hubert tells Edelgard and Monica that he hired Jeralt's Mercenaries to reinforce Ferdinand and assist his escape from Alliance territory. Edelgard is upset that Hubert hid this from her because he paid for the mercenaries' help with his own pocket money so that it wouldn't count against the Empire's war budget, and Monica dryly notes that Hubert's lack of faith in Ferdinand's skill is the one thing that could end up saving his life.
  • In Chapter 6, Holst is sent in to negotiate terms of surrender with Ferdinand. When he returns, he mentions that none of the Imperial soldiers seem willing to even entertain the possibility that they will all be dead soon... except for one (Bernadetta), who was apparently hiding under a table during the entire discussion.
    • Hilda even comments almost immediately that it sounds like Bernadetta, all right.
  • Several rather funny moments come in the scenes after the Alliance defeats Shahid for the second time.
    • Holst and Nader explain how they became "sworn brothers" when Claude introduced them. Once Nader spots Hilda and realizes she's Holst's sister, he claims that makes her his sister, too. Hilda immediately protests that she's "full up on brothers."
    • Nader explains how Almyrans celebrate victories with a feast and party. Raphael comments that Claude has the same tradition, and Shez gets nervous, probably thinking that Raphael's about to figure out that Claude's Almyran... But then Raph simply exclaims that it's definitely feast time, if Nader and Claude both want it.
    • Marianne wishes that she could share her food with Dorte. Hilda asks if that's her "horse friend," and the slightly puzzled yet amused way she says it really sells it.
  • A very serious and terrifying scene gets a case of Mood Whiplash when Claude learns that an enemy force is raising up the dead Randolph's flag. Judith wonders if Randolph's vengeful spirit has returned to haunt Claude, causing Lysithea to comically freak out, and Marianne of all people has to tell her to calm down.
  • When Dimitri deflects the arrows Claude shoots at him, Claude stops to give an impressed whistle and is distracted long enough that he needs Hilda to save him from Dimitri's following attack.
  • When Claude returns to Leicester to fight off those who slither in the dark, he learns that the Mittelfrank Opera Company is helping to fight off bandits and protect the villages. Hilda and Raphael immediately start sucking up to Claude in the hopes that he will let them meet the company's famous divas, with Raphael calling Claude "your Claudeness".
    • After the battle, if you recruited Dorothea, Claude expresses disappointment that the famous divas were just Dorothea and Manuela, which offends Dorothea. Claude apologizes...before basically saying the same thing again worded slightly differently.
  • In Chapter 14, when Claude rescues Edelgard at Garreg Mach, she accuses him of waiting until the last possible moment to help her. He doesn't deny it, saying that he wants her to be in his debt. She immediately throws an axe at a Kingdom archer who had been about to shoot him from behind and says they are even now (though she later admits that she still owes him for saving her).
  • When Rhea transforms into the Immaculate One to fight Claude and Shez in the finale, Claude's reaction is basically, "So Rhea's the Immaculate One? Alright, then..." as if she'd just changed into another outfit and not into a giant white dragon.
  • Throughout the route there is a Running Gag where Raphael notices Lorenz trembling before the upcoming battles and asks him if he's scared. Lorenz vehemently insists he is not and gives excuses for why he is trembling or tells Raphael not to worry about him.
  • When Flayn as an enemy uses her magic to heal a large portion of the army in chapter 14 of Scarlet Blaze and the final chapter of Golden Wildfire, Hubert and Holst in their respective routes will comment on it and call it "the second coming of Saint Cethleann". Hubert in particular delivers it as a rhetorical question, like he's more annoyed over what just happened.

    Camp Related
  • Lorenz's noble upbringing seems to have made him something of a Picky Eater, a fact the Golden Deer characters love to poke fun at. Pretty much all of them save Marianne and Ignatz take the chance to just tease him about how he eats if chosen for the diner.
  • Marianne can comment (if indirectly) on Lysithea being a Picky Eater, however. She'll ask why Lysithea isn't eating, since the food is good. Lysithea grumbles that she has to get the "lousy vegetables" out of the way first.
  • If Raphael and Ignatz eat together, Raphael will say that Ignatz needs to eat more so he can get bigger. Ignatz just awkwardly protests that his growth spurt is probably over.
  • Eating together with Seteth and Flayn has Flayn decide to treat Shez to one of her own homemade meals and making her father join her.
Flayn: Next time, I will treat you to one of my home-cooked meals! You will join us, will you not, Brother?
Seteth: Yes, my dear Flayn. I always look forward to your... c-culinary masterpieces.
    • Even better is how the stammer isn't actually written in Seteth's dialogue, implying that Mark Whitten added it in. Either way, it's still funny.
  • When Rodrigue and Felix eat together, Rodrigue will sound amused as he wonders if Felix wants his scraps. Naturally, Felix retorts in annoyance that he doesn't want his dad's leftovers.
  • If Ferdinand and Hubert train together, Hubert will say he's glad he doesn't have to worry about training too hard and "accidentally" killing Ferdinand. Naturally, Ferdinand is visibly confused/concerned about this.
  • If you cook a meal for Claude that he doesn't like:
Claude: This is disg... I mean, it's flavorful in a weird way. Maybe we can try a different direction next time?
  • If Hapi is recruited in the Azure Gleam route, she will occasionally remark in camp that she's freezing cold in Faerghus' climate. Shez suggests that Hapi put a shirt on.

    Supports

Black Eagles/Scarlet Blaze

  • Monica's C support with Dorothea has her zoning out in her memories of the time she went to see her show years ago, to the point that Dorothea gets worried.
  • Bernadetta's C support with Caspar has her freaking out in the belief that the suits of armor on the training ground have people inside them that are going to attack her, that it's all a ploy for Caspar to kill her.
    • Depending on who is recruited, Caspar can point out that no one could even fit in the armor... except for Lysithea.
    • In their B Support, Bernadetta comments on how utterly insane Caspar's typical training regimen is... even after he claims he lowered the number of things for her to do. He claims he gets his workouts from his dad, explaining why he thinks that's normal. Bernadetta remarks on how difficult it would be for a normal person to live up to Count Bergliez's training.
  • The end of Bernadetta and Ferdinand's C support has the latter boast about the quality of the plants he's gathered, only for Bernadetta to completely freak out at how every plant Ferdinand picked was poisonous!
Bernadetta: DEATH IN PLANT FORM! THROW THEM AWAY BEFORE WE DIIIIIEEEEE!!!
  • Hubert's C support with Hapi starts by revealing that Hubert has approached the latter with the offer to use her monster-summoning sighs to aid the war effort. When Hapi ultimately refuses, it turns out that Hubert initially made the offer under the assumption that she would be happy to be able to sigh more freely. The support seems to end...only to then pick back up with Hubert offering to share snacks and tea with Hapi (and possibly broach the subject again), who again declines. At which point Hubert sighs to himself about how he would have made coffee if he had known he'd be eating alone, all while Hapi is confused about what coffee is. Their A Support essentially consists of Hubert going on a rant about how amazing coffee is.
    • Also in their A Support, Hapi ends up sighing (accidentally) about how good Hubert's coffee is. Of course, this ends up summoning monsters in the camp. Hubert offers to help her come up with a cover story before they go out to deal with the situation.
    • Among Hubert's complaints in their A Support, he mentions how some dismiss coffee as "hot bean-water". This serves as a hilarious Call-Back to Hapi and Constance's B support in Three Houses, in which Hapi called coffee exactly that.
  • Ferdinand and Petra's B support has the former request that the latter spar with him... in the form of a song and dance after he misinterprets a Brigid tradition. Billy Kametz's hammy performance, Petra's stunned reaction, and how the background music stops during it make the scene priceless.
Ferdinand: Ravishing lady! Princess from a foreign land! How sharp and true the swords you hold in your hand! Wilt thou not spar with meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee?!
    • Once Petra gets over her surprise and corrects Ferdinand's misunderstanding, she (of all people) proceeds to troll Ferdinand by pretending to mix up some phrases that she actually understands.
  • If Leonie is recruited, she can support with Ferdinand. She will ask him if he is really a noble (since she sees him often do things that most nobles would consider beneath them), which he is...aghast to hear. And he invokes his catchphrase in the process.
Ferdinand: If I am not considered noble, then who is? After all, I am Ferdinand von Aegir!
Leonie: Yes, you've made that quite clear on many occasions.
  • Edelgard and Balthus's support has the latter attempt to get Edelgard to hire him as a bodyguard. When Edelgard says he'll have to discuss it with Hubert, Balthus says he already tried, and proceeds to make a damn near perfect imitation of Hubert's voice.
Balthus: He said, and I quote, (imitating Hubert) "Why would I trust Her Majesty's safety to a walking pile of liabilities such as yourself? Ask me again once you've cleaned up your act, and do be sure to use a good soap." (normal voice) So rude!
  • Manuela and Jeritza's C-support is full of Boke and Tsukkomi Routine comedy: Manuela tries and fails to flirt with Jeritza (and all of the reasons why he refuses) by offering to take him out for a drink (he doesn't drink) or go out dancing (he has a bounty on his head and would get recognized). Finally, she begins to fluster and say that they could "grab some drinks tonight and... do nothing with them. Because you don't like to drink." Jeritza decides to finally speak up by offering some info about himself, and when Manuela asks why he suddenly wanted to tell her?
Jeritza: (in a complete deadpan) "You would have kept talking if I didn't."
  • Edelgard and Linhardt's Support starts with Edelgard showing off her Kindhearted Cat Lover side in secret, only to be startled when Linhardt appears out of nowhere (he was napping nearby) and desperately trying to act casual. It then turns into a conversation on what they find best about cats (Edelgard viewing them as useful as they are cute in getting rid of rats and vermin, while Linhardt admires how they use their looks to sucker people into caring for them while they get to be lazy). In the end, Edelgard is just about to lecture Linhardt on his laziness again, before Linhardt stops her on the grounds that the kitty wants her to "snuggle-wuggle" with it.
Edelgard: (on the subject of whether or not the cat lives around the base camp) How should I know? I've certainly never seen it before this very moment.
    • At the beginning, the player can see Edelgard look around shiftily before she gives the cat some fish. It's funny both because of how far she's going to avoid getting noticed, and because she somehow didn't notice Linhardt even though he was nearby.
  • Caspar's support with Mercedes is all about how best to "defeat" Jeritza. Mercedes insists Jeritza would admit defeat if Caspar was better at baking sweets or petting cats than him. Of course, she winds up being right.
    • Caspar starts off confused, wondering if there's some kind of magic in the sugar that will make Jeritza easier to defeat.
    • At the end of the B Support, Jeritza finds some of Caspar's sweets and admits that they're actually pretty good. Caspar is equal parts amazed and annoyed over this.
  • Hubert's supports with Lysithea take his Team Dad and troll roles and her Adorably Precocious Child role into overdrive. Hubert has to make sure everyone, especially Lysithea, eats their vegetables, while Edelgard has also added "give Lysithea sweets" to his job description.
  • Ferdinand and Dorothea's A-support has Ferdie try to apologize to Dorothea for what happened in their B-support... from a shouting distance, which naturally draws the attention of a pair of soldiers who quickly conclude it's a lover's quarrel.
    Ferdinand: DOROTHEA!
Dorothea: Ferdie? What in the world...
Ferdinand: I SHALL NOT APPROACH ANY CLOSER, SO PRAY STAND THERE AND HEAR ME OUT! MY DEEPEST APOLOGIES FOR WHAT HAPPENED THE OTHER DAY! I FEAR I MAY HAVE WOUNDED YOU MOST GRIEVOUSLY! AS I AM A FOOL WHO KNOWS NOT HOW I UPSET YOU, YOU MAY FREELY LAUGH AND JEER AT MY INADEQUACIES!
Imperial Soldier 1: This some kinda lover's quarrel, maybe?
Imperial Soldier 2: Ya think he's cheating on her? Nah, couldn't be. But then again...
Dorothea: Oh, for the love of... FERDIE! PLEASE STOP SCREAMING OUR PRIVATE BUSINESS FOR ALL THE WORLD TO HEAR!
Ferdinand: BUT YOU TOLD ME TO STAY AWAY FROM YOU, AND I MUST NOT DISREGARD YOUR WISHES IN THE MATTER! I IMPLORE YOU TO FORGIVE ME! I HAVE NO WISH FOR OUR RELATIONSHIP TO END IN SUCH A HORRID MANNER!
Imperial Soldier 2: Oooh, this is gettin' good! Can't say the lady looks too into it, though...
Imperial Soldier 1: True, but if two folks really and truly love each other, they can overcome anything!
Dorothea: I FORGIVE YOU, FERDIE! NOW FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING, STOP SHOUTING!
  • Hubert and Linhardt's support has the two of them compare strategies for "hooking" Shez into allowing them to study their abilities, with Linhardt trying to pawn the work off to Hubert by suggesting he be more like Ferdinand, Caspar, or Edelgard. Hubert's offended by the implication in different ways for each of them.
Linhardt: Can't you push yourself to learn some new "hooking" strategies? Like, I don't know, one befitting the elegance of a true nobleman. Involving fancy tea, perhaps.
Hubert: A positively hair-raising notion. Please do not speak it aloud again.
Linhardt: Then maybe get in their face and pick a fight with them? You two could end up becoming fast friends.
Hubert: So you wish me to shout myself hoarse and swing my fists about like a common ruffian? I shall pretend I did not hear that suggestion.
Linhardt: No? Then the only option left is aggressive persuasion. Driven home at the point of an axe, let's say.
Hubert: Linhardt, who in the world are you talking about right now? I should think there is no one quite so barbarous in our own army.
Linhardt: Hmm? Oh I didn't have anyone particular in mind. I was just brainstorming new methods to ensnare our illustrious mercenary friend. Why, did they remind you of acquaintances of ours?
  • Bernadetta and Hapi's supports have them bond over their love for carnivorous plants, except Hapi is talking about how she loves to eat them, which initially confuses Bernadetta since she just likes observing them. The A support has Hapi create a dish out of said carnivorous plants and has Bernie taste it. Bernie's reaction has her in a wordless dumbfounded expression, only just now realizing Hapi meant she enjoys eating them. Did she enjoy it or not? We'll never know!
    • Hapi insists that Bernadetta is drooling over it. However, her portrait still looks the same as always, so was she actually drooling or is Hapi just trolling her? Again, the player can decide!
  • Lysithea and Mercedes's support involves Lysithea completely losing herself over the utter deliciousness of Mercedes's macarons, outright demanding the recipe like a whiny kid. The funny part comes when Mercedes acts like her usual doting motherly self to Lysithea, which presses Lysithea's button to not be treated like a child. Mercedes promptly asks quite snarkily (without changing her tone no less) if Lysithea wants to be treated like a wrinkly old hag instead.
  • Linhardt and Petra's B-support has her receive a love letter from a suitor, but she asks Linhardt to read it for her since it's written in an archaic form of the Fódlan language (and contains lots of mixed metaphors, to boot). When the matter is discussed again in their A-support, Petra approaches Linhardt after having studied a bunch of books with similar language and finds out that she has an even easier time speaking it than she does with the modern Fódlan tongue. As for the suitor who wrote the first letter? She bluntly rejected them and decided not to speak with them again.
  • Shez and Jeritza's supports have a couple funny moments. First, in their B-Support, Shez points out that people are scared of Jeritza because he has a "murder-y aura" about him. Then, in their A-support, Shez is confused when they find out that Jeritza was searching for a cat to help it. Jeritza realizes he never actually specified that he was looking for an animal rather than a person.
  • Caspar's density comes up in his supports with Balthus in a way that is beyond shonen standards of romantic density to women. After they keep tying while sparring, Balthus suggests they could try competing with the ladies. Caspar doesn't get it, and somehow thinks Balthus meant they should see who looks better in women's clothing. Balthus is confused as to how he came to that conclusion.
  • In Shez and Caspar's A Support, Shez finds out that Count Bergliez is around the camp, so they want to challenge him to a fight. Caspar warns them about how strong his dad is, but Shez persists anyway. It then cuts to Shez on the ground, groaning about how Count Bergliez beat the stuffing out of them.
  • Linhardt and Constance's A Support has Linhardt abusing Constance's mood swings by constantly asking her to do him favors while she's in sunshine mode. The final part of the conversation has her approach him while in indoors mode, and she's naturally annoyed about the whole thing. Linhardt tries to make excuses to leave when she says it'd be fair for him to return the favor and help her with an experiment.

Blue Lions/Azure Gleam

  • Shez's C-support with Felix has them point out Felix's Tsundere tendencies, noting how he tends to perform much better when he fights alongside Dimitri, Sylvain, and Ingrid. Felix chokes up, makes excuses for each of them, and quickly tries to end the conversation, claiming it's "exhausting".
  • Sylvain's C-support with Shez slightly changes based on if you're playing as a boy or a girl. After a discussion about how convenient a weapon like Shez's would be, Sylvain cheerfully admits he could goof off and slack as much as he wanted to Male Shez, and he shamelessly admits he'd keep flirting with Female Shez. In both cases, Shez threatens to tell Ingrid.
  • Felix and Mercedes's C-support has the former pick up an injured cat and request Mercedes to heal it. While the support is overall adorable, it takes a turn for the funny when the cat becomes attached to Felix, and he tries to shoo it away in a hilariously ineffective manner.
    • The very beginning of the support is great. Mercedes notices the cat and wonders why Felix has it. Felix's only response is a blunt, "Picked it up." Well, obviously.
  • Sylvain and Ingrid's B-support has Sylvain confiding in Ingrid how he always has to clean up after a particularly unruly soldier in his squadron. Ingrid is VERY amused and starts gleefully mocking Sylvain, asking if the soldier wasn't actually Sylvain himself, and expressing utter catharsis at how Sylvain now knows how she always felt when it came to cleaning up after his messes in the past. It doubles as a Call-Back to their support in Three Houses, where it begins with Sylvain letting out quite the sigh.
  • Ashe and Mercedes's support begins with Ashe talking to a random soldier. Mercedes then enters the conversation and the topic focuses on Ashe's experience with a ghost as a child. Mercedes offers that the ghost could have been just his reflection. The funny part is when Ashe turns to the random soldier earlier... to which Mercedes explains that Ashe was alone when she talked to him.
  • The end of their sweet but otherwise mundane A-Support has Annette reveal to Dedue that the meal she made turned out great, despite her making the bottom of the pot fall out at some point. The normally stoic Dedue is flabbergasted.
Dedue: The bottom... fell out? - How did you manage to...
  • Ashe and Flayn's B-support has Flayn finally managing to catch a giant fish. The support is mostly sweet, and then it takes a turn for the hilarious when Flayn excitedly runs to the dining hall to cook it. Ashe is happy for her... until he realizes that Flayn is going to be in the kitchen and immediately runs after her saying he'll help her.
    • Earlier, in their C-support, Flayn comments on how she never gets to fish by herself since Seteth is so overprotective of her. Then, she wonders if she'd be allowed to go out if Ashe was with her. Ashe doubts whether or not that would actually make Seteth worry less.
  • In Annette and Lorenz's C support, Annette recalls a time when someone made fun of her when she was attending the school of sorcery in Fhirdiad. Lorenz demands to know who it was, saying he'll give them a taste of their own medicine. Annette then tells him to "pop the cork on that medicine bottle and take a nice big gulp."
  • Dimitri's A Support with Bernadetta has him attempting to calm her down by suggesting that she cook something for him. Naturally, Bernadetta continues to panic and ends up messing up the food. Dimitri still tells her it's delicious, despite how gross she finds it to be when she tries it. This is likely poking fun at Dimitri's lack of taste buds (as established in his Flayn supports in Three Houses), and it makes Dimitri look like he'll just chow down on complete disasters.
  • Shez and Rodrigue's B-Support has Rodrigue recall a time when he, Lambert, and Matthias (Margrave Gautier) got into a snowball fight as kids that turned into extremely Serious Business. Eventually, Gunnar (Count Galatea and Ingrid's dad) broke it up and scolded them. Shez comments on how that sounds just like their kids' relationships with each other.
  • Dimitri and Felix's A-Support ends in a manner that's both adorable and hilarious. Felix literally drags Dimitri off to make him take a rest. Naturally, because Dimitri is so much taller than Felix, his feet end up dragging on the ground. When he complains about this, Felix just grumbles that Dimitri needs to stop being so tall.

Golden Deer/Golden Wildfire

  • Shez's C-support with Lysithea has them bluntly call her a child to her face. Lysithea proceeds to get very huffy and whiny, basically throwing a tantrum which Shez snarkily lampshades. In Shez's defense, Lysithea is 17 at this point of the game, so it's entirely justifiable, even if they didn't know that treating Lysithea like a child is a bit of a Berserk Button of hers.
Shez: You know, an adult wouldn't get all stubborn and combative like this.
    • Shez also points out that Lysithea also called them "good for their age," thus doing the same thing that she's throwing a fit over them doing.
  • In Marianne and Ignatz's A support Ignatz has been helping Marianne take care of pegasi and Marianne mentions that despite Fodlan breeds distrusting men, with all the care Ignatz gave they may trust him enough to work around that. The attempt does get Ignatz into the air but in a way neither individual expected: it bit the back of his shirt and took off. Needless to say, Ignatz can hardly enjoy the view (he's screaming at this point) while Marianne frets about getting him down.
    • Also, according to Marianne, the pegasus apparently called Ignatz "Four-Eyes," much to his annoyance.
  • In Ignatz and Hapi's B support she decided to draw a picture because of Ignatz's work. She shows it to Ignatz and the player gets to see it. He compliments it and starts suggesting greenery, only for it to be revealed he thought it was a fairly decent picture of deer when it was supposed to be a portrait of him. Hapi is less than excited.
  • In Claude and Constance's C support, Claude is curious about a new spell Constance developed that changes people's hairstyles, so Constance tests it out on him. It makes his hair so spiky that it's physically painful to touch it. Hilariously, the camera stays focused on Claude's torso the whole time, so the player just has to imagine what it might look like. In the B support, Claude complains that his hair ripped up his pillow before the spell eventually wore off.
    • Also in the B Support, Constance apparently makes Claude grow a "wildman beard" (according to him). Claude complains that such beards are more popular "out east" (presumably Almyra, given Nader's beard). Constance is immediately proud of herself because she interpreted it as her magic transcending borders. Naturally, Claude is still annoyed about this.
  • In Claude and Lorenz's C support, when Claude confesses his anxieties to Lorenz, Lorenz is so shocked that Claude would open up about how he is feeling that he is unable to speak for a few seconds. Once he finally manages to start talking again, he admits that he might be going into a state of shock.
  • In Lorenz and Constance's C-Support, it starts with Constance getting into and winning a staring contest...with a cat. Lorenz, witnessing this, questions his initial thoughts about offering his typical marriage proposal, only for Constance to be shocked by his gall of both considering and rejecting her within consecutive sentences. It quickly descends into an ego match where they take turns insulting each other's houses while propping up their own, only to finally decide they must settle it in a true competition.
  • Claude and Holst's A support is quite funny knowing that Claude is actually an Almyran prince. Holst asks Claude if he would try to improve relations between Fódlan and Almyra by having Hilda marry into Almyra's royal family, unknowingly suggesting a possible marriage between Claude and Hilda. Claude repeatedly dodges his questions to keep his identity hidden while also seeming a bit baffled by the suggestion.
    • Claude calls the Almyran prince Holst apparently wants Hilda to marry as that "hypothetical heartthrob," making it sound like he just pulled a …But He Sounds Handsome on himself.
  • Hilda and Leonie's B support has Hilda suggesting that they wear different scented oils and having the scents mix when they're together to create a new scent. Then they both start blushing at the idea of their scents "intermingling". Hilda tells Leonie not to think about it too much.
  • In Shez and Claude's C support, when Claude describes the difficulty that the Roundtable has in agreeing on anything and asks Shez what they would do in his place, the two options you can choose between are "Give 'em the old ba-bam" and "Skirt round them with a nice whoosh."
  • In Shez and Lorenz's supports, Lorenz constantly tries to either get them to stop "saving" him in battle, or show that he's stronger than them, because it looks bad if nobles look weaker than commoners. Shez is constantly exasperated by this, and comments in their B-support that the way he keeps phrasing things is why nobody ever believes them when they say he's actually a decent guy.
  • Shez and Holst's supports reveal that while Holst may be a legendary badass, he's... not always the best when it comes to tactical thinking. His idea of a scouting mission is to run up to some enemy soldiers and give them a fair fight. Later, he reveals that he found an enemy stronghold, kicked the door down, announced his name, and beat up all the enemy soldiers. Shez is understandably confused by all this.
  • Hilda and Linhardt's A-Support is rather funny, since Linhardt muses that he thought he'd found another lazy comrade in Hilda, but she keeps doing work when she needs to. He ends up offering to help her solely so he's not the only lazy-looking person around, much to Hilda's confusion.
  • Holst and Balthus's A-Support starts with Balthus tricking Hilda into admitting that she worries about Holst. Naturally, Holst is secretly listening nearby, and he proceeds to reveal himself. He's so touched that he demands that Hilda come give him a hug while sounding like he's about to cry, much to Hilda's embarrassment. SungWon Cho's ridiculously over-the-top delivery really needs to be heard to be appreciated.

    Warrior Specials
While mostly visual spectacles, they can be quite funny when they're the unique ones that a character gets with their favored class line. They often showcase the character's personality in some way.
  • Ferdinand's special is fairly basic, but it's what he says that makes it hilarious: "I am Ferdinand... von... AEGIR!!!"
  • Hilda finishes her catastrophic axe strikes with a smile and wink to the viewer.
  • Marianne summons her loyal steed Dorte to charge the enemy.
  • Bernadetta rapidly fires arrows everywhere in a panic, cowering in fear as the resulting arrowfall obliterates the enemy.
    "I CAN'T DO THIS!!! GYAAAAAH!!!"
  • Raphael does an epic flex before swinging a humongous boulder at the enemy, then flexes again boasting about his muscles.
"Did you see that?! My muscles always win the day!"
    • Made even better by the fact that he shouts "Now watch me flex!" when he first rips up the boulder.
    • If Raphael and Ignatz use a Partner Special with Ignatz in the lead...
Raphael: Ignatz, show 'em your muscles!
Ignatz: But I have the arms of a painter!
  • Dimitri and Felix's Partner Special with Dimitri in the lead has Dimitri crack a joke that would make Alois proud. What really sells it is just how proud Chris Hackney makes Dimitri sound of his dumb joke.
Felix: Give me a hand, boar!
Dimitri: I think you mean "a tusk."
  • Sylvain and Ingrid's Partner Special with Ingrid in the lead emphasizes their Vitriolic Best Buds dynamic quite hilariously.
Sylvain: (in a flirty tone) C'mon, partner!
Ingrid: Do you HAVE to call me that?!
  • Linhardt pelts his enemies with a barrage of light balls, nodding off halfway through but still managing to keep the spell going.
    Linhardt: This is exhausting.
    • Even outside of his favored class, Linhardt delivers a hilarious Pre Ass Kicking One Liner:
Linhardt: Behold ... a token effort!
  • Hapi sighs, summoning a giant wolf behind her, prompting her to warp away and dodge the monster's attack, hitting the enemies in the crossfire, before warping back in and finishing them off with a blast of darkness.
    Hapi: This is the worst.
  • Yuri and Constance in the shade's Partner Special showcases Yuri's trollish nature quite well.
    Yuri: C'mon, Shady Lady.
    Constance: STOP CALLING ME THAT!!!
    • If Constance and Yuri (with the former in the adjutant position) do a Partner Special on a sunny map, Constance drops this delightfully absurd line.
      Constance: I humbly request violence.
    • And if she does the same with Balthus in the lead:
Constance: Kindly rip their limbs off.
      Balthus: Ugh, gross!
  • Pairing up Hubert with Monica for a Partner Special before they get their A support...
(if Hubert is in the lead)
Monica: Do not slow me down!
Hubert: I would ask the same of you!
(if Monica is in the lead)
    Hubert: Work hard, now.
Monica: I don't take orders from you!
  • Claude and Lorenz's Partner Special before their A-Support has Lorenz sass Claude's attempt at invoking The Power of Friendship.
Claude: Our bond is our strength!
Lorenz: Then we must be rather weak!
  • Claude and Hilda's Partner Special has Hilda leaving all of the work to Claude, much to his dismay.
Hilda: Leaving it all to you, Claude!
Claude: Like, all of it all of it?!
  • If Balthus is in the lead with Constance, her command to attack makes him think she's making a joke.
    Constance: Commence barbarous violence!
    Balthus: Wait, I'm no barber!

    Paralogues
  • The Gatekeeper's paralogue reveals a Noodle Incident about Shez's time in the Officer's Academy where on the day of the mock battle between the three houses, where they are exempted from participating due to their longer combat experience than their peers, Shez wound up in the battle zone where the mock battle takes place because they got lost on the way to return to the monastery, and then proceed to curb stomp all three houses all by themselves. Nobody lets Shez live it down and Shez laments to the gatekeeper that the others still poke fun at them over the whole thing.
    • Even funnier, everyone thought that Shez was finally given permission to join the mock battle when they arrived there when in reality, they are just there because they got lost and proceeded to fight because the students decided to fight Shez assuming that they are participating. This then led to all three houses eventually working together to test and fight against Shez for the rest of the mock battle.
    • Lorenz insists that the Golden Deer can't lose because they have him. Naturally, since he's part of the first wave, he has to be defeated early so Shez can progress.
    • If you manage to get Leonie, Caspar, and Felix together during the second wave, Leonie suggests that the three of them dogpile Shez with a Combination Attack. Caspar says that such an attack can only be used with The Power of Friendship, leading Felix to shout "Triangle Strike, go!" in as annoyed a tone as possible.
    • Hilda tries to say that she's just a "fragile little girl" to make Shez go easy on her. She proceeds to sulk upon getting kicked out of the fight.
    • Hubert and Monica don't miss the opportunity to snark at each other. Monica orders Hubert to cover her, while Hubert insists that he'll fight from behind her, sounding like he's just throwing Monica at Shez as a distraction.
  • While most of the paralogues have a more serious tone to them, the one featuring Lorenz, Ignatz, and Raphael has a humorous exchange at the beginning, where a flummoxed Lorenz attempts to tell Ignatz and Raphael that he's their friend first and their lord second and to dispense with formalities (which they, being awkward and airheaded, respectively, flounder with). Finally, when Raphael proudly exclaims that he'll take his payment in meat, Lorenz just kind of gives up with a resigned, "Fine, then I'll tell the kitchen to prepare a... ham."
    • The end of the paralogue gives Shez three options for answering Lorenz's worries. The last option screams "Meat party! Meat party! Meat party!" at the player...
      • If you actually select this option, Shez tells Lorenz that he better get out the best ham he has, and also make sure there's enough for them and Ignatz.
  • Ferdinand, Lorenz, and Constance's Paralogue stands out as one of the funniest ones on a route where the story is generally very serious. What starts off as Ferdinand and Lorenz praising each other, turns into a three-way race to defeat as many generals as possible in a training exercise thanks to Constance bringing up how both cannot be equal if they are both the "noblest among nobles". The entire time Shez is watching and involved with a perpetual "Why am I even part of this?" energy. Despite it being a contest between the three nobles, Shez can join in and hog all the points to themselves, much to their shock as Shez was to be merely a judge. The best part is that near the end of the level, Hubert, Dorothea, and Hapi drop in and have to be defeated, with Hubert being annoyed by the three nobles, while Dorothea and Hapi more or less are involved because, well, why not? In the end, the nobles learn that they cannot measure their nobleness with a mere contest, and they plan a tea party in the dead of night while laughing their trademark haughty laughs, causing an annoyed Shez to note that these three idiots must never be allowed to be together again.
  • Balthus' paralogue with Hilda and Holst features a portion where the assassins sent after him decide to take Hilda hostage in order to turn the fight to their advantage. Holst at first seems on the verge of going into an overprotective big brother panic, only to immediately relax and proudly note that the number of assassins surrounding Hilda is not even near enough to actually capture her. You can then take control of Hilda and personally rout her attackers.
  • Dorothea and Manuela's shared paralogue involves them rejoining the Mittelfrank Opera Company, if only temporarily, on a tour to raise morale and keep the troops' spirits up. The two reminisce about their times in the spotlight, of having left the stage due to age or due to fears of what might happen when they age as they escort the new hottest star of the company. Then, they're attacked by bandits and have to escort said star to the next town where she'll be safe... and in the process, find out they both have several devoted fans among said bandits. Should the player beat them into submission with their respective idols, the bandits will surrender, heal up, and join the player, all while spouting hilarious declarations of adoration and delusional fantasies about their newfound "friendship."
    • Towards the end of the paralogue, Hanneman comes to save Manuela and the others, leading to their usual rapport, and also Manuela considering she might be "into" the idea of being a Damsel in Distress for Hanneman to save.
      • At the end, Dorothea complains about Hanneman and Manuela's verbal sparring and tries to just leave with Shez. Despite previously implying that they were enjoying it, Manuela and Hanneman immediately do an about-face, begging them not to leave them alone together.
  • In Byleth, Leonie, and Jeralt's Paralogue, when Alois reports that poachers have taken some villagers prisoner, Jeralt says that the bandits are a "disgrace to poaching". Alois has to remind him that such wording makes it seem that he thinks there's any honor in poaching.
  • The paralogue involving the Ashen Wolves has a number of comical incidents, mainly stemming from it being a sunny map, meaning Constance is in her Shrinking Violet persona. While the player can control Shez, Yuri, Balthus, and Hapi, Constance is delegated to CPU...and at one point, she begins raining lightning down upon everyone, including her allies, to which she bemoans her "other self" and her experimental magic.
    • During the ending of the Paralogue, Yuri refers to the Ashen Wolves as the "Abyssal Four", a title that hasn't been mentioned at all, and suggests that Shez joins them to make it the "Abyssal Five". Balthus, Constance, and Hapi are all skeptical of the name, as they don't recognize it in the slightest...and Yuri pretends to be upset about it, causing the others to relent and "remember" their old title. Alejandro Saab sells it with the way he sounds choked up about it:
Yuri: Hey, what's with you guys? Do you want to be part of this group, or not? Bah! And here I was thinking we'd all go out and celebrate our victory...
  • Bernadetta and Monica's paralogue sees them root out a TWSITD base. Bernadetta, identifying with how they'd just want to hide away in a cave, begins to feel a bit of sympathy for them. Then one of them tells his men to kill them all and take no prisoners, and she immediately changes her mind.
    • During the ending, Bernadetta muses about how she could use this cave as a new hiding place for some alone time... until Monica and Shez list the many ways the cave would be more dangerous than pretty much anywhere else.
  • Hubert, Petra, and Jeritza's Paralogue is one of the more serious, but one dialogue choice after Hubert tells Shez they're late leads to this exchange.
Shez: Yeah, well, you know it's not a real party until I decide to show. So what's the deal?
Hubert: As unflappable as ever, I see. Can I take it from your lackadaisical attitude that you know why I have summoned you here?
Shez: Not even a little bit. But judging from the company, you clearly rounded up the toughest people you could find. Just thought I should play the part.
Hubert: It saddens me that I am not included in this "toughness" calculation of yours.
  • Jeralt, Catherine, Shamir, Alois, and Gilbert have a paralogue in Azure Gleam where the most famous Knights of Seiros of their time have a reunion, and the entire mission (stomping over the Agarthans) is treated more like a reunion tour of a legendary rock band than as a serious mission while Shez fangirls over the group.
Catherine: Avast, enemies of the Goddess! You face Thunder Catherine!
Jeralt: And Jeralt the Blade Breaker!
Gilbert: And Gustave, knight of the royal family!
    Alois: And Alois the Bold!
  • Leonie and Shamir's paralogue features Leonie and Shez helping Shamir with some mercenaries hired by a noblewoman who is implied to be Yandere for Shamir. At the end, Shamir says that "if someone's not interested, move on" while the camera just so happens to be focused on her chest... and Leonie has no idea what she's talking about. Shez can awkwardly tell Leonie that she'll get it "when [she's] older," only for Leonie to still be confused about the whole thing.
  • In Claude's paralogue, when Claude and Judith are preparing to leave for Derdriu to defend it from pirates, Claude tells Shez he wouldn't mind having an experienced mercenary come along, very, very heavily hinting that he means Shez. Shez somehow doesn't get it, and the dialogue options you can choose between are to ask what he means, or tell him to bring Leonie or Shamir along. Regardless of which you pick, Claude tells Shez in exasperation that he was talking about them.
  • Caspar and Linhardt's paralogue ends up being hilarious, despite the semi-serious premise. Count Bergliez wants to sweep up the remnants of Duke Aegir's rebellion, and enlists the help of Count Hevring, Caspar, Linhardt, and Shez. Count Hevring and Linhardt make it clear that they're mostly going along so these two idiots don't do something stupid while they're out there. Of course, Caspar and Leopold get way too into it during the battle, while Linhardt and Waldemar are constantly grumbling about how annoying they are. It ends up being a competition between the fathers and sons... twice. First, you're supposed to have Shez, Caspar, and Linhardt seize more strongholds than Counts Bergliez and Hevring. Once you get that done, Count Bergliez suggests that he and Count Hevring fight their sons just to see how well their training's been going. Caspar is of course excited about this, but Count Hevring and Linhardt just kind of reluctantly go along with it.
    • At one point, Count Hevring starts tagging along near Linhardt instead of staying with Count Bergliez. Linhardt asks if he's doing this just to avoid being near the count... which Waldemar immediately agrees to doing, complete with some more complaints about Leopold.
    • At the end, Count Hevring suggests that Shez would make a decent civil servant. Shez responds that they'd rather "let [their] sword do the talking" than spend their time talking to everyone else all day. Caspar will be amazed that they have a talking sword.
    • The beginning of the paralogue has Caspar and Linhardt arguing over whether or not Caspar saw a ghost that looked like a headless torso, with Linhardt surprisingly being rather adamant about it being Caspar's eyes playing tricks on him. It's heavily implied that Linhardt was being stubborn about Caspar seeing a ghost because he doesn't want to believe the possibility that ghosts are real, seeing as his profile in Three Houses mentioned he dislikes them.
