Funny / Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem

Go To

  • In New Mystery of the Emblem, Luke bemoans the lack of pretty clerics. The others agree that a healer is needed, and Luke is excited — until the recruit turns out to be Wrys. In addition, the entirety of Prologue 6's intro is pretty much a Big-Lipped Alligator Moment, but it's hilarious.
  • Most of the Permadeath quotes in the game, as to be expected, are tragic. Samuel's?
    Samuel: It's tough... being hot...
  • After Wrys is rerecruited, he offers the Avatar a haircut like Wrys. Wrys is bald. Should you decide to accept Wrys' haircut, Marth's reaction in the following chapter is priceless.
Marth: Avatar, may I have a moment? Wh-what in the blazes!? M-may I ask, what happened to your hair?
Avatar: Father Wrys cut my hair for me. Is something wrong, sire?
Marth: He, uh, certainly did. Well, if you like it, then wonderful. ...... W-well then, let's begin the war council.
    Avatar: Yes, sire.
  • All of Malicia's support conversations. All of them. You can just imagine whatever poor sap she's talking to standing there with an ever-increasing Sweat Drop by their head as she fantasizes about living out the most hilariously cliché princess Tropes ever. Or in Caeda's case, as this little girl prattles on about marrying her very fiancé.
    • Or the final talk with male Kris had Malicia pretend she's gotten over Marth and Kris thinks she's finally maturing... only to backpedal when it turns out her fantasizing target is now Kris.
  • Xane's third support with My Unit, or at least the first part. He disguises himself as Jagen and claims he's fallen in love with them. Be warned though, massive Mood Whiplash comes next.
  • The third support with Phina. Kris took on her advice too well and becomes too forward: If Kris is male, he becomes more lusting towards Phina, to the point that it creeps her out; if Kris is female, she comes up with an even more ridiculous outfit that also creeps Phina out... only for Kris to psych out in the end and say that they're just taking Phina's advice to heart, to her annoyance.
  • Phina's second support with Navarre has her admiring Navarre's silky long hair, and she volunteers to style it cutely. This leads to Navarre, a disgruntled man, getting his hair in twintails.
  • While most supports show My Unit as the straight man, his/her conversations with Draug show that not even he/she is above silliness as he/she gets the impression Draug's supposed feats are real (such as taking flight to knock enemies far from the continent). Draug tries to disaude her/him with some impossible training, only to be stunned when he/she says lifting ten people is impossible but not three.
  • In pre-battle conversations, Caeda will sometimes explain to My Unit that she knows a guy on the other side, complete with flashback to her recruiting them in Shadow Dragon. The reaction of a female My Unit is priceless.
  • If My Unit has green hair, Merric says this in the prologue:
Merric: You've got green hair just like me... I gather you're the commanding officer?
  • Everything Rickard says in BS Fire Emblem Episode 3. Absolutely everything, especially his dealings with a suspicious Navarre. Seriously. Kazue Ikura's performance as him is absolutely spot on and thoroughly hilarious.
    • Navarre gets an incredibly deadpan Only Sane Man characterisation in this chapter, as Castor is taking notes on how to gain sympathy and crybaby Rickard who definitely has no plans to keep the treasury's gold for himself is desperately clinging to the hopelessly naive Lena.
Navarre: Rickard, get off the cleric.
  • If the Avatar faces Caeda as an enemy in Prologue 3, Caeda has different battle dialogue depending on the Avatar's class. If the Avatar happens to be an Archer:
Caeda: [Avatar], you're an archer!? The bane of us Pegasus Knights... B-but I will not sit idly by and lose to you! Show me everything you have!
    • Note that Caeda is nowhere near as perturbed when fighting against an Avatar in any other class (even those with distinct advantages over her like Knight or Fighter).
