Evolution (1999)
(aka: Evolution Worlds)

  • There's a kid named Nash behind Chain's bus home who's very infatuated with Linear. He doesn't really like Mag hanging out with her so much. Once Linear gets kidnapped, Nash doesn't see her with Mag one time and thus accuses him of finally selling her to pay off his huge debt.
  • The cutscene where Pepper is introduced, specifically when she realizes who Mag is... and mentions that she knows because all the adventurers know of the Launcher Family's debt.
  • The original version of World of Sacred Device has rougher yet humorous facial expression, especially during the scene where Mag and Linear meet Eugene.
  • Before escaping from the sinking ship, Eugene threatens to take Linear away to escape. Cue Mag's Cyframe Power Fist uppercutting Eugene into the sea.
  • The look on Eugene's face when he sees Linear's evolutia form. Is he climaxing or something?
    • He also has a funny look on his face the whole time you fight him on foot. He's clearly enjoying this.
  • If you talk to Pepper in the Museville bar, she'll tell you about how the other day the society worker Nina got Drunk on Milk and started dancing the Macarena on a table.note
    • Around the same time, if you talk to Nina, she'll ask if you heard about anything she did from Pepper, with Mag being able to say no or to act coy. This happens even if you haven't actually talked to Pepper yet and therefore don't know what she's asking about. Either way, she mumbles about how she has to stop drinking.
    • Also from the bar, Mag whining like a little kid when the bartender decides to give him water when you ask for a drink. Pepper gets even more annoyed given that she's an adult and very fond of drinking.
  • The game's flavor text in general is amusing, given how much of it there is; Chain and Mag's in particular give some interesting insight into their thoughts, including constant annoyance at their shortness.
    • Inspecting the trash can in Chain's mobile home prompts Chain to bluntly ask Mag if he always goes through people's trash when visiting their homes.
  • Gre's Lethal Chef skills; Due to the way the game handles attack animations, it means that pretty much every enemy can't help but love Gre's cooking. Even Eugene in his mecha. Even Yurka and the Ulticannon.
  • In the first game, the Berserk status is rare to see, especially when it's not self-inflicted. One of the few enemies who can inflict it is the bird-like Ramholincus enemy, which inflicts it by... pooping on the character's head. And yes, this can happen even to Linear.
  • After completing the first dungeon, Gre gets caught up in a tangent, claiming to have seen Mag's potential since he was born and kept believing, in spite of the "many, many, MANY times [he] came close to being discouraged." In the background, Mag eventually shrugs and leaves, with Linear following him shortly after and Gre takes four textboxes to realize that they're gone.
  • During the raid on the Kronprinz, the party encounters a soldier at the end of a hallway... Who promptly turns around and claims that he didn't see any intruders. Attacking him anyway causes him to complain.
Infantryman: "But you said you wouldn't look..."
