Funny / Ernest Saves Christmas

Go To

  • Ernest goes over to Vern's house. Upon seeing his destructive neighbor with a large Christmas tree, Vern immediately shuts the door in Ernest's face.
  • Almost all of Auntie Nelda's dialogue is grimly hilarious.
"Is my second-born son without a sliver of gratitude who wouldn't even pick up his own mother at the airport. I'm only glad his father never lived to see the day where his son would treat his own mother this way."
"Where is he? Where is Martin? I need him to help me with my will. Having walked from the airport, I'll be dead soon."
"That's life for you; you have two sons, one good, one bad, and wouldn't you know it with my luck, the good one dies.
  • Ernest impersonating the Apopka snake rancher. "PAISANUS snakes!"
    • "Yuns want one for your boy?" (somberly places his hat over his heart) "I gave one to my boy last year..."
    • Then he takes off his hat and starts singing "Rock of Ages".
    • His disguise ends up working a little too well; later on, a pair of studio hands dump bucketloads of actual snakes into the back of his truck, resulting in Ernest and Santa having dump them out at a nearby rest stop.
  • Ernest throws a Christmas tree into his taxi and asks Santa to catch it. It immediately smashes through the window on the other side.
  • Bobby and Chuck's first scene, where Bobby tries catching a crate coming out of a parked airplane, only to be smashed by it. When it gets loaded up onto the baggage cart, he's still stuck to it.
  • After the transition is made from the old Santa to Joe, Joe asks where the sleigh is. Cue the old Santa nervously doing Ernest's laugh.
  • When Ernest finally brings the sleigh to Santa, he's coming in hot and looks like he is going to crash horribly, when it suddenly stops inches from the ground without any reaction from Ernest or the Elves. Ernest turns to the camera and tells us:
    Ernest: Air brakes. smugly chuckles
