- In chapter 24, Shinji wakes up, finds he is hugging Asuka and he thinks he is dreaming. So that when she opens her eyes he kisses her, tells he will bring breakfast to her bed and maybe he'll wash her back when she is in the shower, and leaves with a wink. Shortly after he realizes it was NOT a dream and all he can think of is "Oh gods, oh gods, oh gods, oh gods!" For her part, Asuka is left in stunned silence before finally asking herself "What the fuck was that!?"
- In chapter 40:Ching gave her a mock-pout. “Hey, I’m the one who’s single right now. I get to look. Besides, it’s a plain crime not to look at prime beefcake like that. Woof!”
“Prime beefcake? Where?” Misato eagerly looked around as she joined them. She then leapt a good six inches in the air as her fiancé pinched her.
“Right behind you, Misato. You’re not as single anymore, remember?” Ryoji Kaji teased her. “But if you still want to window shop, that’s okay.”
Misato looked surprised. “Really?”
Kaji shrugged. “Sure.”
“Ooh, my boy is too nice! Point me towards the beef-“
“I’ll be right over here talking to that stunning blonde with the big-“
Misato spun right back around and latched onto Kaji's arm. “On second thought, I think we should keep our eyes on who were talking to at the table.” - Toji tells Kensuke that piloting a Humongous Mecha is not as hot as he believes. Kensuke's answer? "My Black Knight has a Plasma Cannon, your argument is invalid!"
- They day after consumating their relationship Asuka wakes up wondering why she has dreamed of having a all-night sex marathon last night. Then she realizes that it really happened.
- Right after Shinji wakes up, Asuka thinks he looks afraid that she is going to bite her. Then she decides that it is an excellent idea.
- The conversation in chapter 60 between Shinji, Touji, Kensuke and Bir is hilarious. Kensuke ALWAYS manages misunderstanding the conversation somehow:Shinji:“What happened to you two?”
Bir:“Lieutenant Liebshott,”
Touji:“Hikari,”
They both looked up from their cups to stare at each other with matching confused looks.
Kensuke:“Really?! [...] Dude!”
Touji:“Not like that! She kept me up all night just holding on to me and crying a bit, talking about the stuff she saw yesterday, and how horrible it must have been for Shinji and the Red Demon!"
Kensuke:"Oh... sorry, [...] Is that what happened to you, Sergeant Bir?"
Bir:“No,”
Kensuke:“Then what.”
Bir raised his head and gave Kensuke a long, flat stare.
Kensuke:“Oh,” - In chapter 69 Shinji and Asuka reveal everybody that they are expecting. Then Touji naïvely asks: "Expecting what?"
- Daniel has a great sense of humor. Apparently he once visited another Eva-Verse as a vacation, and was made to take a Synch test by Dr. Akagi. First result: 2.718%, the natural logarithm root ("e"); second: "i", the square root of -1; then 2.718% again, "i", and finally zero . He made the computer mathematically spell out "e-i-e-i-o" from "Old MacDonald" (and he started whistling the tune, too!).
- She still didn't realize that he was messing with her until the computer started displaying results that read out as "++Divide By Cheese Error++" and "++Please Delete And Reinstall Universe++", after which Ritsuko pitched a fit and Misato snorted coffee out her nose. Auska found this gut-wrenching hilarious, and later on, so did Shinji (After Asuka explained to him what Old MacDonald was).
- Most of Misato Sohryu-Ikari's introduction. First she briefly pretends she's Shinji's and Asuka's Kid from the Future (she isn't, she's the child of an alternate timeline version of them), then admits she was trolling just to get a rise out of him. Shinji is finally wrapping his head around all this when Asuka shows up and demands to know who he's talking to.
