  • Fridge Brilliance: It's noted in the back matter that the French in the comic was translated by Cirque du Soleil's Mathieu Chalifoux, and that Brian K. Vaughan takes responsibility for any foul-ups from there. Early in the first issue, Amber criticizes the American drone's French. While this was likely a simple bit of Self-Deprecation, it could also be an acknowledgment of Language Marches On. After all, a 22nd century Canadian hearing 21st century Canadian French would be bound to find it a bit strange to the ear, almost like a bad machine translation.
    • I think it's more that the robot was a) speaking a very formal, stilted, non-colloquial French, i.e. not the sort of French any Canadian would actually use in conversation, and b) probably had a horrible accent/pronunciation.
