    Fridge Brilliance
  • In the first movie, we see at least one human Corvinus-descendant Lucian has had strung up in a rather painful manner and possibly killed. Michael is treated in a much more respectful manner. That doesn't seem to make much sense, until you remember that thanks to Selene, Lucian had to bite Michael to catch him, something that presumably didn't happen to the others. They were humans, and thus disposable, but Michael, as a lycan, can't be treated just any way.
  • The Lycans managing to thrive and exploit non-human prejudice among mankind to their advantage in Awakening make sense when one considers how, unlike Vampires, they can walk in the sunlight, control their werewolf transformations and more successfully pass themselves off as regular humans making it possible embed themselves into human society with none the wiser.
    • It would also enable them to add to their ranks either by swaying sympathetic humans to their cause and allowing them to be willingly turned or by getting close enough to unsuspecting humans to forcibly turn them.
    • Also unlike vampires, Lycans don't actively prey on humans for blood. So it's much easier for lycans to blend in since unlike vampires, they are not an actual threat to humanity.
    • And the lycans have had centuries of experience at fleeing and concealing themselves from vampire persecution, which ironically pre-trained them to avoid human-instigated purges. The vampires were so used to simply bribing, coercing, or "disappearing" petty humans who might endanger The Masquerade that they weren't even close to prepared for the death-squad tsunami that hit them when it finally broke.
  • Lucian snatching Sonja's pendant and fleeing with it takes on much greater implications once you watch the second film: had he not done so, Victor would've most likely used it to open William's prison and kill the progenitor-Lycan in hope that it would wipe out the slaves who'd Turned Against Their Masters.
  • Why didn't Markus give William some of his blood to "jump-start" the hybrid process, which might have even made william able to assume a humanoid form? because it would of made him worse, it makes sense that it probably would seeing as Markus' own hybridization exaggerated the "bat" traits of his species, William probably would of just became something akin to a Warg rather than something like Michael, its either that or he already did but nothing happened because Williams infection was so strong.
    • The issue was probably time, Selene and the Cleaners were approaching, and last thing William needed was to be stuck in the throes of transformation during a fight, Marcus probably figured between himself, and William, being the most powerful Werewolf alive, would be enough to take down a single vampire and a human crew.
  • The physical appereance of the hybrids seems to be determinated by how they're created. Michael was a Lycan first and get bitten by a Vampire later, thus he looks more Lycan than Vampire. Marcus is the opposite: he was a Vampire first and gets the Lycan strain later: he looks more Vampire than Lycan. Selene is a Vampire who becomes a Vampire-Inmortal hybrid after she drinks Alexander's blood and, as both strains looked human, she didn't get any physical change. Eve, born hybrid, had the combination of the Lycan, Vampire and Inmortal strains: as the Vampire and Inmortal strains had human-like features, combined, they take precedence over the Lycan strain in her physical appereance, meaning that she barely looked Lycan.

    Fridge Logic
  • In Blood Wars, Thomas tells David that he and Amelia had to hide in the Nordic Coven until David was born, and Thomas had to leave quickly with David because Viktor became suspicious of Amelia's absence and sent Semira to investigate. However, David was born in the 20th century, at which time Viktor would've in hibernation? This could be regarded as a Plot Hole, unless Thomas actually meant that Kraven (who was regent of Viktor's coven during his hibernation) sent Semira on Viktor's behalf. If this is the case, it could potentially be Fridge Brilliance, as if Amelia had a living heir, it would pose a threat to Kraven's plans to kill the Elders and take over the covens, thus making perfect sense why he would be suspicious of Amelia.

    Fridge Horror
  • The destination of Lida's dead body in Awakening; we saw that Lycans feed on human flesh and they usually see humans and vampires as preys. It's very probably that her corpse was used by Lycans to feed themsleves, or to the sick Lycans.
    • Considering that she actually cared for Eve and she wasn't evil as her bosses, it's kinda horrific and sad.
  • The Hybrids shown thus far are very lucky, in real life, more often than not, trying to hybridize two species to gain desirable traits is a gamble, for all they knew it could've went wrong, Michael, for example, he might have ended up as a Lycan who burned in sunlight, Marcus could've ended up as a vampire with Silver allergy, or their transformed states could have been a horrific mishmash, barely able to move, it's slightly handwaved by the fact that the Corvinus Virus was somehow "tamed" by Alexander, giving him benefits instead of illness.
