• When the alien is learning to speak English, her speech gradually goes from babbling to individual words, like a baby learning to speak for the first time, only accelerated ("fuh" becomes "feel", then "field" for instance). She may have to learn speech this way because her race doesn't have a spoken language as such and communicates in some other way - notably her true form is humanoid in shape but doesn't appear to have a mouth.
