Fridge / The Twelve Tasks of Asterix

Go To

Fridge Brilliance

  • Caesar wasn't boasting when he claimed Hercules himself would have failed against the Priestesses of Pleasure Island: Hercules was, among other things, really into sex and eating, and an island full of semi-divine gorgeous women with abundant and godly food would have indeed been something that would have got him stuck there.
    • It wasn't the only task that Hercules would have failed at either: at the Place That Sends You Mad he'd have quickly gone mad with rage and destroyed everything... Thus making it impossible for him to get the permit.

Fridge Horror

  • The eleventh task was for Asterix and Obelix to sleep on a battlefield haunted by Roman ghosts not too far from Rome itself, with the ghost centurion flat-out admitting they had been slaughtered there. As Hannibal never won one of his great victories close to Rome, the only option for the battlefield would be the banks of the river Allia. In short, Caesar tricked Asterix and Obelix to face ghosts that held a grudge against Gauls specifically.
