Fridge / The Simpsons S9 E8 "Lisa the Skeptic"

Fridge Logic

  • The businessmen's Batman Gambit depended on Lisa (or someone else from her archeological dig) finding the skeleton in the first place. As such, you'd think they would make it a little easier for them. Everyone else but Lisa was about to quit by the time it was found. Unless they were afraid someone would find it too easily.
    • One could speculate that the businessmen assumed that the dig would be conducted by a group of adults with experience in archeological digs, rather than a group of elementary school students (some of whom lack experience with scissors). Springfield Elementary students may simply have progressed slower with the dig (and therefore found the skeleton later) than what the businessmen had planned.
  • Building on that:
    • Wouldn't Lisa have noticed that the dirt around the skeleton was loose, like it had been recently excavated and replaced?
    • Shouldn't the angel have made national headlines, and gotten more interest from the scientific community than just Stephen Gould, or does Springfield exist in a vacuum?
  • Why didn't the fact that angels don't die come up? For that matter, since when are angels supposed to have physical bodies in the first place?
