• Shortly after Carmen decides she's going to investigate the village, she goes to bed and has a vision of Eric, the latest tourist to disappear, bloodied and screaming "Leave me alone!". Before the twist comes about, it sort of seems like she's seeing the moment when he was being killed, and he was telling his captors to leave him alone. However, given the end of the movie, it's more likely that this was actually Eric coming from beyond the grave to warn her not to get involved.
