After Hermione annoys him just a little too much, Snape storms off using his ability to fly — which, in canon, he kept a secret until he was really desperate to escape Hogwarts. But then, this Snape knows for a fact that Voldemort is no longer a problem, so he doesn't have to keep a trump card anymore.
