  • Fridge Brilliance: In "The Surrogate", Claire acts protective of her unborn child when at the Deanston Clinic. But it turns out, the "baby" was really an alien parasite. It becomes brilliant when you realize, in real life, some parasites make their hosts (ex. caterpillars) uncharacteristically defensive so they will protect the parasite's babies.
  • Fridge Horror: In "Trial by Fire", as if the destruction of Washington, D.C. and Moscow wasn't horrifying enough, the long-term implications are even more so. Even if the aliens go on their merry way without destroying any other cities, the crippling of the United States and Russia would have serious consequences worldwide. Belligerent countries would take advantage of the situation by launching attacks on their enemies when they would have previously been afraid to do so for fear of retribution. Coupled with the economic devastation which would result, we've got a full blown Crapsack World on our hands.
