Characters

  • Lisbeth is a Big Eater, who can down quite a large amount of pizzas and soda without getting full. In book three, during her trial, Giannini and Lisbeth reveal that Lisbeth often went hungry at St. Stephan's because Teleborian was drugging her food and if not for the nurses she would've starved.
  • Niedermann's abnormal strength could be explained by a myostatin deficiency.
  • Blomkvist and Jonasson both talk about how Lisbeth could be diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Teleborian is dismissive (he might have other reasons, but he has a point here) and Annika Gianinni doesn't bring it up. The latter two have a degree in psychiatry and psychology respectively.
  • The Sibling Yin-Yang of Lisbeth and Niedermann (to be fair, they are half-siblings) was a not so subtle Aesop. While the guy is a remorseless cold-blooded killer, his entire description is a living standard of masculine beauty: his height, muscular build, handsome youthful face. Lisbeth has been distrusted throughout the series for her ridiculous punk-rocker outfit and appearance.

Fridge Horror

  • Lisbeth as a child tried to tell Dr. Teleborian about why she tried to kill her father, but the latter dismissed what she was saying because the Section was paying Teleborian to keep Lisbeth silent and discredited, and because Teleborian found her claims ridiculous. This led to Lisbeth deciding to never talk to doctors again, even the ones who genuinely wanted to help her. If only the Section hadn't assigned her to Teleborian, then maybe she would have been better adjusted as an adult.
