    Ulysses Dies at Dawn
  • Each of the Suits' deaths mirrors their lives or original myths.
    • Oedipus is shot through both eyes, as is appropriate for someone who blinded himself in his original myth. The narrator notes that he "never saw it comin'", reflecting Oedipus'... unfortunate surprise at the details of his parentage.
    • Heracles takes the most shots to bring down, reflecting his incredible strength. Specifically, the narrator says that he "gets the lion's share". The first of Hercules' twelve tasks in the original myth was to slay the Nemean lion.
    • Orpheus is shot in the throat, reflecting his background as a singer. Additionally, his original death was beheading.
    • Ariadne is shot through the heart, reflecting her betrayal at the hands of her fiance, Theseus.
  • In a similar vein, each of the Suits' instrument themes fade out in Torn Suits as they are killed.

     The Bifrost Incident
  • Loki and Sigyn's method of delaying the train's arrival mirrors the myth of Loki's imprisonment: Loki is in a state of imprisonment (wired into the train or chained below a poisonous snake), with immeasurable pain held at bay by their wife, allowing only a drip of the source of the pain at one time (the blood powering the engine, or the poison in the snake).
