Fridge Brilliance:

  • "Cookie's Court" reveals via a scanner that Cosmo and Wanda's true forms are that of angels, with Cosmo being a throne (wheels with eyes) and Wanda being a power (winged sword responsible for order). Furthermore, this would explain why Fairy World is depicted as a city in the clouds, ala Fluffy Cloud Heaven. This would also explain why they're called Godparents and how fairies can alter reality.
    • It would also retroactively justify Cupid being a fairy. He's definitely a cherubim.
    • Word of God implied that if fairies are angels, anti-fairies might be demons. When someone has difficulty choosing between a responsible but non-pleasurable choice and a pleasurable but mean choice, these thoughts are often represented by an angel and a devil on their shoulders. Now look at Peri and Irep. Peri, a fairy, is Dev's conscience who tries to influence Dev into being a better kid and have him follow Da Rules because he genuinely cares about him, but Dev feels overly restricted by Peri and lashes out at him for it. Meanwhile, Irep, an anti-fairy, comes in and tells Dev that he can let him have anything regardless of the rules and morality, which makes Dev excited. However, Irep clearly doesn't care about Dev much, as he's willing to poke fun at his distant relationship with his father and then even leave him alone when someone else gives him a better opportunity. Peri and Irep are the angel and devil on Dev's shoulders, one wanting to make him a better person out of genuine care, but feeling restrictive and not fun in Dev's eyes, while the other is willing to let Dev indulge in his selfish and impulsive desires regardless of anyone's safety, all for his own amusement and goals.
  • Poof going by Peri, which is short for periwinkle, not only makes sense given his Color Motifs, but also brings in mind Wanda's last name, which is Fairywinkle, showing that he's still honoring his mother while going his own way.
    • Taking his full name into account also brings to mind Cosmo's full name—Periwinkle Fairywinkle-Cosma, son of Cosmo Cosma. He gets the "-eriwinkle" rhyme from Wanda's side, but the repetitive nature of his name from Cosmo, representing both parents' names.
  • A.J. being a very big guy in his adult appearance isn't hard to believe as his father is himself a large man. However, A.J. comes off as a neater, more handsome version of his father because he also takes after his mother, who's noticeable in being more attractive than her husband. A.J. splits the balance between them as a large and handsome man.
  • Peri growing up to be a pretty charming guy makes sense considering he was shown to be rather popular in Spellementary School and was even able to make an impression on his crush there.
  • Even though they both wished to be teens and the wish was granted by Cosmo and Wanda, Hazel went through pasta puberty while Timmy didn't. Well, Hazel wished to be 13 (an early teen and is female) who is at the early to middle stages of puberty. Meanwhile, Timmy wished to be 16 (a mid to late teen and is male) and by that point would be at the end of puberty.
    • It's probably worth noting Cosmo and Wanda used fairy hormones with Hazel, making her go through pasta puberty. It's likely from that previous incident with Timmy they thought that with how much more disgusting their puberty is, no one would be crushing on her, making it easier to undo the wish.
  • Dev and Remy both have similar personalities and have godparents, so why is it Dev has a terrible relationship with Peri while Remy has a loving relationship with Juandissimo? Well, there are several possibilities.
    • Notice how they reacted to being told no when they wanted to wish for something that was against Da Rules. Remy found a workaround like using loopholes or an opportunity to gain a rule free wish, while Dev eventually snaps and sides with the Anti-Fairies.
    • Remy most likely had Juandissimo (who has far more experience with godchildren and is old enough to be his father or ancestor) much longer than Dev had Peri. By that point, Juandissimo knew enough about his godson to know what to do like offer legal alternatives, try to comfort him so he won't wish for something he would regret, or simply go along with what he wants.
    • Peri (who is a young and very inexperienced godparent who is chronologically old enough to be Dev's older brother) has only dealt with his godbrother Timmy (who was his parents' godson and they have the same age difference as him and Dev) so he doesn't know how to compromise with Dev or how to help him with his internal problems as a parental figure.
    • Remy knows enough about fairies to know their weaknesses and rules, while Dev barely knows anything about them apart from the fact that they grant wishes.
  • The implication that Timmy's misadventures drastically expanded Da Rules isn't just because Timmy could be as crafty and cruel as he could be straight-forward and nice: Timmy was always an unusually long-tenured godchild. Even early on it was made clear, such as in Abra-Catastrophe! and "Escape From Unwish Island" that Timmy was long in the tooth in more than just his buck teeth and was making a lot of wishes. He canonically added at least one rule during the events of "Christmas Every Day", had a giant celebration of a million wishes in Timmy's Secret Wish!, and had Cosmo and Wanda for seven years. In that time, he found countless loopholes from making wishes Jorgen forgot to officially restrict, such as with Poof's birth, to using a temporary replacement for Jorgen to ignore the rules as is the case in "Cosmo Rules". Not to mention all the countless other things that happened under Timmy's wish and watch, good or bad, such as the human race being overthrown back to back by primates and Crocker, created three different cross-universal incidents, all the events of the Wishology trilogy, and countless other incidents. Timmy essentially stress-tested the system to a near breaking point constantly, and thus Jorgen had plenty of examples of what to add and change as a result of the years of Timmy's wishes and also a means for Timmy to essentially figure out the system inside and out.
  • Many questioned why Poof's Anti-Fairy was called Foop instead of Anti-Poof. Given Hazel's brief Anti-Fairy, who went by Lezah, it would presume that all of them probably have names like that, like Negroj, Omsoc, and Adnaw. They just are fine with being called either, and Anti-X seems to be just a non-offensive slang term or way to refer to them.
    • If Wanda's Anti-Fairy is named Adnaw, that also puts a new spin on her constant gag of being dumb enough to eat with her feet and her bad teeth. It's a play on the word gnaw, or another word for bite.
    • Considering how Irep is with following the rules, he probably goes by his true name out of spite.
  • It makes sense that Jasmine, Winn, and Antony are able to figure out that Hazel has fairy godparents in "The Battle of Big Wand" based on how she handled her wishes. When Timmy made his previous wishes and he needed to undo them, the people who saw the wishes would have their memories wiped or Timmy would make up some believable excuses, like telling them it was All Just a Dream. For Hazel's wishes, Jasmine, Winn, and Antony still retain their memories of those wishes (helping Jasmine face her literal fears, turning her apartment into a fancy hotel and returning it back to normal later on, and playing a real game of Rattleconda Racers), and Hazel never made any excuses on how those wishes happened.
  • Why didn’t Timmy get an Anti-Fairy in "A Mile In My Shoes" whereas Hazel did? In the former episode, the wish was a case of Loophole Abuse where Timmy and the fairies merely switched roles and all Cosmo and Wanda did was transfer their powers onto him instead of him officially becoming a fairy (the only way to become one is to sign a contract). In the latter, Hazel got her own fairy magic, and thus she's bound by the rule of every fairy being born receiving an Anti-Fairy. That said, the switch also did not affect Anti Cosmo and Anti Wanda’s existence.
  • Peri and Dev are linked in more than just their roles as godparent and godkid. Both only exist because of Timmy: Timmy was the one who reunited Dale with his father, and Timmy wished for Peri to be born. They are connected in a cosmic sort of sense, which makes a bit of sense to pair the two together. If Peri was the "best" choice to be Dev's godparent is another debate entirely.
  • Anti-Cosmo being as dumb as Anti-Wanda in the episode “The Battle of Big Wand” may come across as Took a Level in Dumbass, but this can be explained in two ways.
    • First, Cosmo and Wanda are more equal in intelligence in this show. As such, Anti-Cosmo would be more equal to Anti-Wanda.
    • Second, the end of the episode “The Gland Plan” of the original series has Cosmo and Anti-Cosmo swap magic glands, with the ending showing that this switch made Anti-Cosmo act a bit like Cosmo and vice versa. This would not only explain Anti-Cosmo’s reduced intelligence, but also Cosmo being more intelligent as well.
  • The differences in the Dimmadomes' behavior can be observed in how they handle fame and money.
    • Doug Dimmadome is quite known for his catchphrase of declaring himself "owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome" in practically every introduction or speech he makes. While where Doug's money comes from is never said, he comes off almost like a Nouveau Riche person who is flaunting his new wealth, fame, and influence. He's rich, he's proud of being rich, and he wants everyone to know about it by plastering his name on stadiums, planned communities, and new restaurant chains. While he's not against doing morally questionable things to get more money, even when he's hypnotizing people into zombies that talk about his brand of milk constantly, he's just happy enough to be rich and that everyone knows he's rich. Hence why, for example, he's willing to settle for just having to eat blubber nuggets instead of forcing the basketball team he owns to move to Alaska. It's still his team and his name, after all.
    • Dale's a bit in between, being both born to money and having been deprived of it due to being enslaved by Vicky for seven years. He knows what it's like to have power and money, and to have no power and money, and thus is driven to get both. Seven years of exposure to Vicky without any other influences, who also seeks money and, in her flanderized state, power, didn't help either. It's not nearly as much as being known for being rich and powerful like his father, it's about having the power and money to never be in a position other than rich and powerful again, regardless of consequences.
    • Dev's been in money and power his entire life. He's never known what it's like to not have it, so his life is built around this money and power and the expectations of it. However, as he doesn't want acknowledgement for his success, or more power and money the way his relatives do, he instead seeks and desires what money and power can't get you. Friends, for example.
  • Anti-Cosmo has the air and appearance of a dapper, sophisticated Faux Affably Evil gentleman, while Irep is dressed like a greaser delinquent who acts as a Toxic Friend Influence to Dev. This makes sense not just in relation to who they are an Evil Counterpart to - Anti-Cosmo is the opposite of the goofy, playful and free-spirited Cosmo, while Irep is the opposite of the rule-following Peri who tries to act as The Conscience to Dev - but it also makes sense considering that Anti-Cosmo is Irep's father and therefore, older than him. If Cosmo and Anti-Cosmo are meant to be in their 30s or 40s in fairy years and have been around for over 10,000 years, it'd make sense that Anti-Cosmo has a more traditional villain look, while the young adult Irep who was born more recently has a more (relatively) modern, delinquent-like vibe to him.
  • In "A Dinosaur in Dimmadelphia", one of the museum exhibits Barry finds to be inaccurate is a portrait of a fuzzy sauropod. This seems to be a jab against feathered dinosaurs, until you remember sauropods are not one of the dinosaurs known to have feathers.

Fridge Horror:

  • Remember "It's a Wishful Life" and how Jorgen was laughing merrily at the idea of Timmy falling into a giant fiery pit filled with children who wished they were never born? That was bad enough in the original context, but with the bit in "Cookie's Court" that shows that fairies are the universe's equivalent of angels, it's very possible that wasn't just any regular fiery torment pit. That was Hell. Jorgen, who by extension is also certainly an angel, was laughing merrily at the idea of Timmy being damned. The subtext of that episode is now all but actual text.
  • Part of the reason why Dale turned out to be such a horrible father towards Dev is because Vicky forced him to work in her lemonade sweatshop for seven whole years, which clearly messed him up. That means that even though she never appeared on this series until "Operation Birthday Takeback," at which point Dev was already considered miserable enough to receive a fairy a few episodes back, Vicky was still indirectly responsible for making another child miserable thanks to a Chain of Harm. And remember, Timmy and Dale were far from Vicky's only victims. In fact, there were two other kids working with Dale in the lemonade factory. Makes one wonder what they are like now.
    • Odds were they weren't able to get the power to be dangerous. They are certainly messed up like Dale is, but Dale combined that with power and influence to cause a lot of harm.
    • Dale said that he was Dev's age, ten, at the time he was working under Vicky, meaning he would have been three at the youngest when he started. Also Vicky, who was sixteen during the original series, would have been around nine when she kidnapped him.
  • In "Lost in Fairy World," a skeleton of Vicky inside a glass can be seen among other unwished objects, as an Opening Shout-Out to the original series. A funny reference, but then fridge horror sets in when it dawns on you that this is probably a copy of Vicky that slowly died while trapped in a glass of guava juice floating in a void.
    • The fact that copies of people can go to this unwish dimension opens up a whole other can of worms. Do they have the same conciousness as the original person, and are they aware of what is happening?
  • Anti-Cosmo is the leader of the Anti-Fairies, is Faux Affably Evil, and is an Evil Genius who was revealed to have lead a rebellion against the fairies in order to get full control of having godkids in the episode “Balance Of Flour” of the original series. According to Word of God, if fairies are angels then Anti-Fairies are demons. If this is true, then Anti-Cosmo isn’t just a Satanic Archetype, he’s the devil himself.
    • If Anti-Cosmo is the Devil, that could also possibly make Foop/Irep The Antichrist.
